Our volunteers look into many questions every day; sometimes it takes them a little while to answer.
Make it descriptive, including relevant context, but also to the point. This way you improve your chances of getting a more relevant and specific answer.
this here as well why subjontiviveve used heree
i should perhaps read more on the subjunctif tbh
I’m sure that’s actually the second form of the conditional perfect. It’s identical to the subjunctive pluperfect but behaves as the conditional perfect.
Ex: Si je lui avais parlé, j’eusse su ce dont il avait besoin.

oh i had no idea thank you for this
basically because latin didnt have conditional
so they used pluperfect subjunctive for it
essentially
so is the "eussent échappé" connected to the s'il y avait?
this might just be pluperfect subj tho
the normal one
yeah i think so
not 100% but eh
The conditional perfect can be used to describe unconfirmed/hypothetical news so that’s how I took it
I didn’t know qui could trigger the subjunctive though
ye
if it's something that you doubt actually exists
or have reason to doubt
a few things can trigger it, qui is prob 2nd most common
thank you everyone
