Our volunteers look into many questions every day; sometimes it takes them a little while to answer.
Make it descriptive, including relevant context, but also to the point. This way you improve your chances of getting a more relevant and specific answer.
idk what that's supposed to mean
my guess is that it though "To" is someone's name...?
yeah but it doesn't make sense in context
it's supposed to be ''...quand tu es dans l'école"
thats what I wrote
weird...
yeah mb
but what does To mean anyway? The corrector doesn't seem to notice anything wrong with to
not including that it should be capitalized
it doesn't mean anything in French
ok
that's why the corrector thought it was a proper noun
got it, thanks
👍
The sentence has other mistakes as well. If this is an automatic correction tool, it's evidently not doing a great job.

what is it
I believe it's a corrector for native mistakes, so it's having a harder time parsing all the non-native errors, especially together
What did you throw in it originally
« écouter » takes a direct object, not an indirect one for example
We listen to our teacher in English mais nous écoutons notre professeur en français.
Surtout quand to <- (spelling mistake) es dans l'école, tu dois écouter à ton profeseur.
Ok
Dans l'école means "inside of the school" aka you don't have to listen to them outside of the building
what Verb would be used to take undirect objects? Liko not to OUR teacher but to ALL the teachers
What
the indirect part is the preposition
ahhhhh
an indirect object is just preposition + object
a direct object is just, well, the object
so à isnt correct here, right?
it isn't no
Were you going for specifically inside the building or in the school environment
both
The first excludes the second
ok, then lets say you need to listen to the teachers all the time
is that better
À l'école = in school/at school
Dans l'école = inside of the school building
weakness detected: prepositions
Dans is usually physically inside of something
what about "en"?
what does that mean
do you know where I can find a list of them
LawlessFrench
Or wordreference tbh
I understand none of them
