well the first one is wrong

not the tense but the conjugation

imo the 2nd one should be pc

and the reason for that is cause "quand j'étais étudiant" is used like as a background or prolonging descpription

and j'ai passé is like an event that occured during that time

you also said je suis rentré

imo this should be imparfait cause ur refering to a habit u did while at night it wasnt a one time event

at night u went out with ur friends and came back late

"un jour, un copain m'invitait" is wrong this should be pc cause its a one time event

the rest seems fine

You're pretty right, actually in the whole first paragraph it should be imparfait
Because he's describing the habits he had when he was a student
And to describe habits you need to use imparfait
The whole 2nd paragraph talks about one-time events, so you use passé composé for each verb

And for the conjugation error you were right, you need to fix j'était et je faisait, because the termination at the imparfait for je is always -ais
