Please be patient

Our volunteers look into many questions every day; sometimes it takes them a little while to answer.

Pro tip: you can rename the thread title with `.tr <thread name>`

Make it descriptive, including relevant context, but also to the point. This way you improve your chances of getting a more relevant and specific answer.

they're the same color, with some nuance

#

usage for hair/eyes varies between France and QC, however

#

typically in France marron is prefered for hair and eyes whereas in QC brun is used more often

@bold star as a french I can tell you that brun is mostly used for hair, whereas marron is used to describe things
And besides hair, brun might be a little bit more red than marron
For example chocolate is marron
But a dried blood stain is brune

Also there's a little specificity for the hair, you can say "cette personne est brune" without saying "cette personne a les cheveux bruns"

or is that one of the exceptions where the adjective doesn't go before the noun?

Pour les couleurs généralement l'adjectif est toujours après le nom
