Our volunteers look into many questions every day; sometimes it takes them a little while to answer.
Make it descriptive, including relevant context, but also to the point. This way you improve your chances of getting a more relevant and specific answer.
You wouldn't really hear an r pronounced like that unless you are really drawling out the sound.
You can make the distinctions if you want to, but it's worth noting that most French people (even when speaking formally) would just pronounce parlerait + parlerai the same, with the é sound. Same goes for pot + peau -- both words would usually be pronounced with the normal o vowel sound. However it depends on the person and the way they speak.
Would a word final R have a slight -uh at the end if you chooose to voice it?
Yeah probably, but very slight unless you choose to exaggerate it
R released or unreleased is the one you wouldn't hear? Like english final T in cat?
Sorry for ignorance but what would an unreleased sound be
Unreleased? It's not a stop sound
mort as <morr> or <morr-(uh)>
with voicing R specifically
ignore background
sorry
For "mort" you would voice the r specifically and not exaggerate an 'uh' sound at the end unless you want to
Idk if I am at all helping, I feel that I don't understand very well
I wasn't sure if you swallow the R kind of at the end or "release" it if that makes sense?
does that help?
ok, like marseille vs paresian?
Maybe accent isn't the right word... just from person to person
