Our volunteers look into many questions every day; sometimes it takes them a little while to answer.
Make it descriptive, including relevant context, but also to the point. This way you improve your chances of getting a more relevant and specific answer.
another question is the "y" necessary here
could i simply say "voyait sans lunettes"
Se méfier.
it looks like al méfia
does it literally say "se méfier" or it a conjugation cause i cant read it
Se méfier
so this is se then?
(Yes i really got up and saw a notification yes i am returning to sleep)
And y voir is related to sight.
It is "se"
could u elaborate on this please
lke "voir" vs "y voir"
Yes, literally. No conjugation there.
Voir is just see. Y voir is more like your visual perception.
so "je vois pas bien" is used like if youre in a cave and theres no right
and "j'y vois pas bien" is like ur legally blind
You can find y voir in expressions like n'y voir goutte (everything is thick/blurry for you to see anything).
Yessir
No it is : i dont see anything
thats interesting thank you
isnt that "je vois rien"
i understand thank you very much
It is a pleasure
You can say that y voir conveys the idea that there is an obstacle to your vision/sight.
Like, when the light goes out or there is a blinding light, you can use the expression. Same with nearsightedness and farsightedness.
