#Payment for cutting trees on federal highway

I'm ok with this. I'm taking a break from law-writing as the first 36 hours of the cycle were just me working on laws. I imagine I'll add this within 24 hours if no one else wants to step up to do law stuff within gov
This has been proposed and put to a vote
You can pickup the logs, right? Seeing as how trees pay a LOT to cut down already by reselling, I'm not sure why it needs to be paid even further. Dirt on the other hand has some merit imo

personally im not opposed adding a small payment to account for logistics process - current proposal is 1 euro for cutting the tree and 1 euro for clearing the stump
In some cases it can be easier to use contracts for specific work and area. A custom clause like "To clear highway x,x - y,x of all trees and stump the payment is 500 euro"
For example (don't know if this example is true this cycle) if there are multiple old growth readwoods on a patch of are the cost to clear those is higher than normal, but its only a small part of the highway that needs that. It can be more work to add it to the law than to do a one time contract
In the past contracts where also used for tunnels. Still a good idea for much harder rock tunnels as it gets difficult to make a good general law for such things.
And in case of trees maybe a logger would be more interested to just get payed for the cutting trees and not feel obligated to work on the road in any other way
I've put the payment proposal through with the condition of being a road worker. Im not sure how attractive 2 euro payment is for logger vs convenience and logistics. The main problem at the moment i think is as we dont have MoI, the contractual options will require more attention from the MPs and PM . Also is it a problem if a logger goes and clears the trees and then another worker lays the roads or clears rocks?
The easy thing with contracts is that the one who accepts the contract just gets payed when that specific thing is done. No matter any other work.
It is more work in making decent estimation in how much that contract work would be worth as you need a fixed amount for every contract
So yes payment in the road payment law is a good option too. Just wanted to give an alternative that doesn't require law editing in case that was easier.
thank you π if any of the other MPs are keen on taking this, we can cancel the law payment.
i cannot commit to doing those contracts
The law was passed so we will trial 1 euro tree cut and 1 euro stump clean payment for the highway and buffer districts to anyone who holds Fed Road worker title. Please note this is not related to the global QOL 5 euro tax / 5 euro rebate law. We will revisit the data in few days to see how's it is affecting the budget. In the meantime let us know what you think of the change π
