Posting this on behalf of Weyllin, a citizen of Balica. Currently, the road law does not give exceptions to those who have the Balica road title. It is preventing all those who have the Balica citizen title from placing any stone roads on the planned district. This could be solved by including "If citizen has "title", then ignore authorization".
#Road law issue.

the governor will take a look at this when he gets on
I'm confused on what your request is I changed it to all citizens regardless of title from last night.
The player Weyllin could not do any road placing while hes a citizen of your state. Others that arnt a citizen of your state could.
Its been hours since i last looked but the law looked like it only restricted anyone from doing anything within the road district that has your states citizen demographic.
Sorry just got off. @azure flame could u confirm or explain what the issue is if i didnt explain it correctly?
Issue #1: Can't do digging in my mine even though i have the title. Probably intended.
maybe its becuase u have title
Issue #2: Can't place Stone Roads at (1152,814). In Picture 1 you can see:
1: This is the Federal Road. So we're at 70 height.
2: This is the error I get when trying to place a block at this place.
I think thats the claim is extending into there
i just revised the roads
waiting for laws to be passed
try it nopw
i just removed u from it
issue #1 still exists
How do i solve this problem
How do i do that
What are u intending to do with the law?
beats me
he was trying to make it so that people of other districts couldnt do the road system
that only people of balica could get paid for the roads
Oh so hes trying to stop people who arnt oh his states citizenship?
gotcha gotcha, ok in the second section under the "if" make it way "Not" then have "Has title of Balica" or whatever the title is. This would turn the logic into saying if they DONT have it, then they can do the action.
of what law
i don't mind if other people do our road system, tbh. i just dislike being unable to use 3/4 of my mine. i can't mine into the highway south of me. east and west is prevented via road law and north is a neighbour + another road
this is an issue 😄
Also we currently have 2 laws.
The second one is preventing things. If you delete that, we might be a step further.
especially this part reads problematic
also the text has nothing to do with what's written in code
this part is also bogus
Also at some point a neutral legal opinion on the matter would be interesting. <@&807619854965801033>
I think laws like this should be legally problematic?
Whys that?
On the most basic level: Text and Contents of the law say/do different things.
I couldn't really comment on that, since i'm not versed in Virgata issues.
That ship has sailed: The road's been dug under before the law (or road) existed.
Then i need a gm to help me or someone good with laws to help change this.
There's probably a discord command for GM assistance that I can't recall 😮
theres plenty of players who can help with laws around 🙂
Even though I do not like the law requiring a title and not being able to dig under the roads you do not own land you do not claim as stated in constitution.
I would recommend to drop the title and the digging under bit because it is just country roads. But it is within the Governors right to do the road law how he wants.
pinging the gms would be a last resort kind of thing
I claim §4.1.2 then.
Negative you did not "accidentally" unclaim it
I can't claim because I'm unable to buy more LCP
The title was just for anyone who wants to be paid for the roads.
Are u claiming to start a court case?
That is the whole reason 4.1 was changed
Am i in the wrong here garbage?
no, i'm trying to get this settled out of court
ok
that's why i was highlighting for the judiciary to have a neutral legal opinion on the matter
No you are not. But you can make a better law and I doubt that a gm would not be willing to help you make a blanket law.
In my opinion as a player. Country roads should not require titles
Nor should you not be able to dig under them
Im unsure with how to make a better law is the issue
That is not my opinion as the AG though
ill try 🙃
in the white tiger channel
that's part of the issue (#2 of my initial posting): i had the title and was unable to do roadwork
I have never done laws. If I had I would help.
It's a bad law and he knows that. He is new and is trying to fix it. But we as players can not get upset with new players who have stuff to do outside of the game. You've read his intent he did not try to mess it up he is just trying to learn
It sucks but we are here to try to help new players not run them away
I believe kyokes will help him make the law you want
I'm not trying to dissuade him from playing WT, the game or even being in government. Quite on the contrary. But also: the issue has been here for 24hrs and we should work together on solving it. ❤️
I assume this is going off of: http://gs2.play.eco:3021/election/23287366
- The comment text on the law is about federal highways and state routes. But the title being about the Balica Road system makes it clear the intent is for the County roads of Balica / Balica main road. Could be cleaned up but its w/e
-
- Federal law section 2-(1)-3. "[County Roads] are managed by the county governments they pass through, financed by the state government and have the lowest building priority." So the governor does have the right to make choices about the roads. Other than the laws about realism, and height above 70 being the only requirements. Tunneling under the roads isn't illegal under Federal Law, nor required to include or exclude.
Your argument is that you are being blocked by the roads since you can't mine under them. While you don't have claims there, so it is technically public land. You could still try to argue it with a mine being infrastructure, or 'blocking entity's expansion', but it looks like there is room north, etc.
Legally it looks like bub is fine, but the mining restriction isn't something he 'needs' to include either on the road law.
(I say this as a non-judge, just looking at things. IDK if you guys already talked this out or not it seems)
Update on both issues:
#1 resolved. Can dig in mine. Yay! ❤️
#2 resolved. Can place roads! More yay!
