Hey all! Sorry for this being late - comeback week has been pretty wild.

This week we're asking a very simple question - with VirtuouS now out, what's your favorite track and why? Is it what might seem obvious in alternative rock track JUSTICE? Or perhaps the swagger of 2 Rings catches your eye? Maybe the emotional impact of Fireflies? We'd like to know!

We've also placed down a poll so you can make your choice easily, for science of course.

Personally I loved 2 Rings to bits, the vibe was just there, fireflies is a close second makes me choke up sometimes

While Justice is the best title track, 2 Rings is just swagalicious DongUwu

I have to vote 2 rings just bc the song vibe and choreo are both really fresh

#

Justice is great but it is just a teeny tiny smidge repetitive

#

Maybe that’s just from me having it on repeat though DongThink

so, there are a few archetypes of songs that i not only adore but just become my personality for a couple of weeks after first hearing them. JUSTICE is definitely in one of those, alongside break the wall (and to a degree, propose and rising, those two just each lack one of the many elements for the archetype for me so i didnt qualify them - while still being perfect songs ftr)

it's not that it's just a fighting/hype song. it's dramatic, cinematic, makes you want to belt your throat out, it has delicious guitars in there, and most importantly it has a melancholic wind-down moment that reeeally strips down my defenses before the explosive final chorus kicks in. that melancholy is so important for this bc it doesnt just make me gear up to fight but it paints a picture of fighting against way greater odds DongCry (break the wall fits this description perfectly - propose just has a different meaning behind it altogether and rising has great moments but it doesnt fully strip down)

stomp gets an honourable mention rn because i suspect i will be obsessed with it once justice leaves my brain alone for a bit, probably for similar reasons as all these mentioned songs

The truth is that Justice has enchanted me from the first spoiler and the whole song lives in my mind 24/7.
The first time I listened to the full album I found Stomp very powerful like it was a TT and 2Rings seemed very original and different from the usual sound.

After several listens I think that Justice is still my favorite track closely followed by 2rings

I don't think there's a perfect song in this EP. There's also a disambiguation of whether it's performed live or the studio version (studio versions are slightly overproduced while the live vocals sounds better). Having this in mind and personal preferences, I have to go with 2 Rings - sure, the bridge is a little bit awkward with the sexual connotations and the dance break features the ah-ah sounds that have gotten a bit stale (some were complaining from the first listen while it only got to me recently) but overall, it's still the most captivating song for me. Some describe it as swaggy or something like that and I would have to agree - it has the sort of a "cool" charm that is easy to vibe with just feels good on the ears.

It would be Justice but the way they implemented the stuttering sound to match the voice signal in away you can't really tell when the high note finished and the backing track effects begins just shakes me the wrong way. Sorry for the pun but I feel the studio version doesn't do much justice for the track while the raw performances carry the load on the song being very good.

Edit: I'd also like to give a honourable mention for the intro track. Such a good instrumental to set the tone for the whole EP, might even be the best intros they've ever done.

2 Rings. Its such a vibe and I love it every time it comes on. One of the tracks had to be first lol

Stomp, since it's another rock-heavy b-side and those tend to easily be among my fave songs of theirs
but the intro and ballad are pretty nice too

#

I really can't choose between justice and stomp

#

Agree with rockas about the stuttering effect on justice, its a cool idea but sounds better without it

#

Stomp might just about take it for that reason I suppose, 2 rings is quite good but its not my favourite

The high notes in Justice gives me chills (in a good way), and brings me back to when I got into them. They have such powerful vocals and I hope it won't be too strenuous for them. The rotation of members with high notes also makes me happy.

2 Rings and fireflies! 2 rings just sounds really good and like its such a fun song and it just caught my attention when I was listening to the album the first time! Fireflies is so calming and i love dreamcatcher's like softer more calming songs. Honestly though choosing is quite difficult as all the songs on this album are so good.

I, too, can't choose between Justice and Stomp. They're both so strong and memorable. With so many aspects that make both so unique. I remember my jaw dropping the first time I Heard Justice's chorus, and that also happened with those Stomp! Right before the chorus.

the highlight medley for stomp had me rolling because when dami rap came with no set-up i thought "okay well very classic but it feels too sudden idk" so i was ready to think it midtier and then jiu's verse there came in and i just melted

#

(and the song in context made dami's rap feel sooooooooo good where it was that my initial doubt about it was cleared immediately lmao)

I still need to listen to 2 rings a lot more, but for now what I'm sure of is that I absolutely love justice -- it is such a confident song, and has a way of making the listener feel invincible

btw i also want to give the intro its flowers. aside from just being a killer track as always, normally i am very rarely a kpop ballad person and despite dreamcatcher's being a cut above other kpop ballads to me they still don't usually hit. fireflies was no exception and it felt extra weird coming after the adrenaline-heavy justice-stomp-2 rings combo so i thought this would be another album where i would just stream on loop after taking out the final track. except the intro makes the loop from fireflies PERFECT so its actually a lowkey genius track order

I am really tied between Justice, 2 rings and Fireflies, but think I have to go with Fireflies as my favourite. I love the harmonisation they do and I can see it becoming a comfort song. But I loved the whole album, they really did amazing

For me its Justice and Fireflies with 2 Rings on second place.

I can't really pick a favorite between Justice and Fireflies, since those are entirely different songs with different use cases. Justice is an amazing title track which goes really strong and I love the high notes. Fireflies is one of the best DC Ballads so far I believe, the harmonies between the members are lovely

Fireflies and then Justice. Biggest surprise of the album for me. I'm convinced that it's their best ballad. I'm a sucker for good harmonies and they really made it work here. I also highly appreciate how well they showcased Dami's vocals here GahApprove

  • Obsessed with Stomp. I have been listening to that song on loop. The vocals, instrumental and everything about it is so powerful. I think that it fits my taste perfectly, putting it on second place after DEMIAN. I was blown away by this song when I first listen to it.
  • I think that Fireflies is my second favourite in the album, a beautiful and emotional song that I missed from Dreamcatcher's last album. I think I did tear up when I listened it the first time DongCry , also Handong being number one in the line distribution, her voice is so perfect in that song!!! I am so happy she got to showcase her beautiful vocals to the fullest.
  • Justice is on third place, I think that it is a strong title track, my favourite part has to be chorus, especially the effect added to the high note that I love.
  • 2 rings is such a stylish song, I really like it as a song. Gives off confidence and style. I need to listen to it more for sure.
  • intro, it is a long intro. It got me pleasantly surprised to see an intro that is longer than 2 minutes. They did really show off the quality of the production in the track. But it's unfortunately last place in the album. Still doesn't mean it's bad, it's in fact a fantastic intro, it's because the other songs are really REALLY strong in this album.

Nobody voted for Intro which is amazing to listen to and wonderfully composed DongCry
But it's understandable, all tracks are great...
So as a song I would pick Justice because it's unique, with the guitar riffs effects. One of my fav part is Dami's "Guiding me up, guiding me up", her low tone cuts so well into the prechorus and adds a heavy ambience to the song. Also, I haven't noticed before watching a reaction video and the person notified it, when Siyeon sings the first chorus "Justice makes me..", the way she sings "me" is so deep and husky, which makes me loving it even more now!

This said, the other songs are great too... Fireflies surprised me the most, I thought it would be very repetitive but it's not and it's a melodic song. 2 rings also surprised me because I thought it would be too pop for me but it was not, adding Handong's lines where she sings differently it's refreshing and catchy !
And Stomp, I didn't know what to expect and then I was again, surprised by the heavy track I even though it could be a TT (my dream is to have Stomp's bridge in Justice dsjkdjs). I especially like Sua's low voice there.

Conclusion : To not listen to the highlight medley, we never know what they are giving us!
