That wouldn’t have saved people in this case, unfortunately. I had nothing but the bare minimum essentials in my pockets + my lightstick, and security was still a hassle. The person I got was unnecessarily thorough and went through people’s stuff to an absurd degree of scrutiny (examples include opening up my wallet and looking through it, trying to take apart my friend’s lightstick, etc.).

can't make all the security folks check with the same exact thoroughness, they just follow a general standard, and luck can put you ahead or behind as it happens

Honestly, I thought LA had a smart setup. There were some hiccups that I saw but how everyone was set up seemed good.
