but I'd just spent so much on other stuff on the trip and they were not my fav albums so thought I should be responsible and not opt for one more frivolous purchase
responsibility be DAMNED
oh wait. it's available on their site, same price including shipping as if I'd bought it in person - I am free from REGRET
dysfunctional you
dead dont die slap
Yo who likes cut the cord
Phenomenal song
It was a banger recorded and even better live
Yea same thing with DEVIL
True
eugh, not fond of the lyrics in planet zero
"they're cancelling your feelings" "you might be woke but not awake" "your theory might be critical, but who's in charge? if victimhood is currency then you won't starve"

Why not?
me fr
who??
my brother cut his hair into a mohawk to look like brent smith
2000's rock band notable for having the most number one singles (17) on the Billboard Mainstream Rock charts with, beating out Three Days Grace by 1 and Van Halen by 4
I like Amaryllis
the album specifically
holy shit how have i literally never heard of them
idk but I'm sure if you've listened to any significant rock radio station in the past 15 years you know at least one of their songs
i listen to like 3 stations regularly
one being an alt rock channel that plays some pretty bad stuff sometimes
an indie channel thats actually really good
and a 90s channel that cycles the same 20 overplayed songs
I guess try cycling through a few of their top songs on spotify to see if you recognize any
second chance and cut the cord are their most popular
ah so second edition and cut the crap
?
second edition by public image ltd and cut the crap by the clash
they have similar names
I figured there was a reference there I was missing
second edition is a great album but cut the crap is absolute shit
of course something with crap in the name would be crap
basically theres no members of the clash except joe strummer so only one great songwriter + production sounds like a bullshit punk rock self-parody mixed with everything bad about flashy 80s production
ive heard people say the demos are quite nice but the production is like the shittiest production job ever
the song this is england is decent though
you might need to start a thread for the clash
i probably will
i've only actually listened to amaryllis, attention attention, and sound of madness, but heres my ranking thus far
Amaryllis > The Sound of Madness > ATTENTION ATTENTION
based on the singles i'm sure planet zero is going to fall way below attention attention
I did not enjoy attention attention but at least it had like a positive messaging
I really don't think we need, in 2022, a 13 song concept album (with 7 transitional tracks placed randomly throughout because why not) about how modern life is literally 1984 because of wOkE cANcEl cULtUrE
but hey maybe it'll blow me away
having now listened to Threat to Survival it goes between sound of madness and attention attention for me
I think they definitely fumbled their transition into being more mainstream/poppy and incorporating more electronic rock (which I guess is threat to survival and later attention attention) which is weird seeing as that seems like a natural direction for them to go post-Amaryllis
no way im seriously the only shinedown fan
I’m here. Shinedown is one of my favorite rock bands.
lets go
IT IS OUT!
I'm buying the planet zero cd tbh
i give it a 9.5 out of 10
for first listen at least
0 skip worthy songs
didnt look over any actually
god
this new album sucks
like impressively so
I didn’t think they could top themselves after ATTENTION ATTENTION but clearly they have
i respectfully disagree
attention attention was very different but good
shinedown doesnt have a weak record tbh
they don’t
because they have 2
planet zero is just like way too messy of an album
it’s supposed to have a concept and yet almost none of the songs are actually connected to the concept
the only real story is delivered through those obnoxious interludes that break any semblance of album flow, which this album is already lacking because the songs constantly bounce between standard hard rock and these acoustic ballads
and whatever message they’re trying to push through the interludes and a couple songs (title track and America Burning) is so out of touch and lacking in nuance
it’s 2022, we do not need an album about how “soon nobody will be able to say or do ANYTHING without getting CANCELLED by the WOKE MOB!!!”
nah
most of them are really bad
they have some of the worst lyrics and clunkiest melodies
and they too often stray from what they’re good at with 5 different acoustic ballads
none of them are good, with awful lyrics that fail to portray any legitimate emotion and serve no purpose in the structure of the album
ok
do you dislike second chance as well as if you only knew? and 45?
those are more ballad-y songs but none of those are slow, sappy, and none of them are exclusively acoustic
none of the new songs are exclusively acoustic except what you wanted
at the airport on my way to québec to see shinedown tomorrowww
I happened to check tickets right when two rows of the best seats were released late so I got a great one :D
only $100 cad, too
im seeing them in september 🙏🙏
i saw them last september too, they're so awesome
have fun friend :))
I'm totally not jealous
thank! :}
at the venue, with as good a seat as it gets
frontmost, so I have actual places to put my legs, as close as possible while still seeing the whole stage
unfortunately they don't sell posters, which is what I normally opt for, and the signed CDs are not my favourite albums </3
I'd immediately jump on an amaryllis, sound of madness, or threat to survival but don't think the latest two strike my fancy so much
personally the latest two albums and sound of madness are my top 3
few songs from them have stuck to me so far, though I'll try planet zero again soon to see if my opinion's changed
I'm also fond of the ones with more chill parts, which might be a part of it :p
a symptom of being human🤩🤩
i really enjoy dead dont die, america burning, dysfunctional you, and a symptom of being human
i also like the simplistic little short pieces in between songs but i dont think they're really necessary
i enjoy the differing sounds all throughout, from hard rock back to simple and slow
