New song today
It's no awful it's not great, it sounds ok. Lacks a bit of energy though I'd say.
the new song was so good. only heard it once and it's my favorite from the 2 singles so far
really sad how people are complaining too already...
@green moss ride the lightning or ...and justice for all?
I like ride the lightning more
aight 3rd single wasnt my favorite favorite but i definitely appreciate the variety theyre giving, songs like that which are slower are cool too
new song clip sounds like the best single so far
absolutely
hell ye
I kind of agree because it's just hardwired with better writing, but this fanbase of course bashes every new release before the album even comes out
72 seasons album so far is more classic metallica then hardwired
lux eterna - hit the lights mixed in with motorbreath lyrics
screaming suicide - prince charming
if darkness had a son - eye of the beholder? (i think now that we're dead personally)
72 seasons - EVERYTHING
Friend made a mop so-vits model and I made him sing 72 seasons
Apparently we get a clean ballas halfway through that song or something
Ballad thingo*
awesome, probably like halo on fire
Prolly
Album's out friday, here are my ranking of the singles
- 72 seasons - I didn't think they'd be able to write a song like this again. I don't care if it's the only one like this it's still awesome and kirk's best solo so far is on here, and the main riff is cool
- Screaming Suicide - People hate on this song for no reason, I always wanted songs like the fast ones on load and reload, and this song's way better than people say
- Lux eterna - Great, simple lyrics, all about the metallica family, could've been on kill em all
- If Darkness had a son - I still like this song and am glad they do songs like this to vary everything up. Sure the riff might be simple but it's still pretty good and we know they're capable of writing more complex songs
different timezones get it first
because midnight
gonna review it track by track tomorrow!
it was/is for me since im in Australia
yeah inamorata aka the last track is my favourite from the whole thing tbh
imo

robberts vox on the last chorus sound soo weirdd
Track reviews:
72 Seasons - Metallica keeps their streak of AMAZING openers alive
Shadows Follow - Ngl I thought the energy was going to dwindle here but thank god I was wrong. Kind of like atlas rise mixed with here comes revenge
Screaming Suicide - The fact that people actually trash talk this song is sad, I think it's pretty good
Sleepwalk My Life Away - Another slower, but still pretty solid song
You Must Burn! - I thought this one was going to be thrashy but I'm cool with how it sounded. Like Sad But True/Dream No More
Lux eterna - Good, simple lyrics, basically a KEA track
Crown of Barbed Wire - James sounds tight as hell, and the energy comes back starting here
Chasing Light - I thought this was going to be a let down when it started off slow, but THANK GOD I was wrong. One of kirk's best solos on the album
If Darkness Had a Son - Great single, I wanted them to make another Now That We're Dead/Confusion/Eye of the Beholder Kind of song
Too Far Gone? - Really good track. Tempo is awesome and riffs are cool
Room of Mirrors - HOW? HOW IS NO ONE TALKING ABOUT THIS SONG? IT'S TOP 3 ON THE RECORD! Huuge lords of summer vibes, harmonies, and Lars' double kick is awesome
Inamorata - I definitely need to give this one more time, but it is still a killer song, and props to them for making it
robert looks like hes taking the most majestic shit ever
yeah agreed
the only thing the album needs is a ballad but at least this has wayyy more energy than most of their albums which is kind of wild
nah it needed an instrumental like orion
imo
i guess but like it wasnt on hardwired so im used to it
they had ballads on like every album until now. closed we got was the middle section of inamorata
fax
i think room of mirrors is my favorite
or the title track
at least admit the last minute or so is cool, that's the main thing that has people loving it
also lmao never think you're the only one that thinks the song is awful, this is the metallica "fanbase" we're talking here
the rest just grew on me but honestly the album has no bad songs. Hardwired's 1st half is flawless but the 2nd half is not that great except for like 2 or 3 of the songs so they at least did that
oh yeah i saw that
nah its best music video ever xD
where billie?
Wdym
Because it says "ft billie joe"
i hope they add some covers to a deluxe version or something
hardwired's covers were amazing
i tried making a ai billie joe voice sing turn the page it clearly didnt work
yeah

metallica rocks
Fr fr
alright after about a month here is 72 seasons worst to best imo (i do enjoy every song tho unlike the last album)
- Room of mirrors - The double kick, riff, chorus, and that section at the halfway point make this song my favorite
- 72 seasons - another amazing metallica opener. Thrashy, great riff, good solo, pretty nice intro too, this is a top 5 opener by them
- Too Far Gone? - harmonies are crazy good, simple but good riff, and james again kills it
- Shadows Follow - Love the energy in this song, and james sounds fucking incredible
- Inamorata - A great ballad-like song that is like outlaw torn pt 2
- Screaming Suicide - This song gets bashed way too much, really enjoy how unique it is
- Lux eterna - Short, but pretty good considering
- Chasing Light - This song got me at the beginning, but the solo is really good
- You must burn! - Great slower song on the album. James sounds amazing
- Sleepwalk my life away - love the bass intro and james' voice but it's too long ig
- If darkness had a son - This is song is pretty good up until the solo, it's like now that we're dead but with slightly better lyrics but slightly worse riffs and a way worse solo
- Crown of barbed wire - Not bad but lyrics/music video are not good, not very creative either
i redid a edit i did ages ago
It was the closest one I could find to the front for the master of puppets album cover
Font
Metallica makes seggs music
Me and her in bed listening to Metallica 😝
go for it man unlike most metallica fans we're pretty chill about anything
alright imma rank em
Metallica albums ranked
- Master Of Puppets
- Ride The Lightning
- The Black Album
- Kill Em All
- ...And Justice For All
- Load
- Death Magnetic
- 72 Seasons
- Hardwired...To Self-Destruct
- ReLoad
- St. Anger
if i was counting them, Garage Inc would probably be in between Death Magnetic and 72 Seasons, and S&M would be right above Load
I agree with this but I would pay 72 seasons at 6 instead of load I like load and reload but they would be like 7-8
EEEEXXXITT LIGHTTT
Enter night

Yes it is. The new album is better than the last 2. Hardwired was just OK and Death Magnetic is bad, especially the mixing
It's their 2ne best imo

I really like St. Anger

metallica
Metallica
Happy 40th anniversary to Master of Puppets!!!

yo what thats so cool
I love pastor of muppets!
oh shoot i almost forgot to listen to it
Deserves a thread no matter how active
True True
Worst to best:
9. St.anger - not bad, but the production and lack of solos make it not likable (although they sound really good live, and there are some tolerable songs here)
8. Load & reload - Pretty good, but they're both over an hour and have some filler, but mostly have bangers
7. Death magnetic - Almost perfect production, all the songs are good and well written and has more variety than KEA, but isn't as iconic (it's good that they recycled material, but i like it more when they explore their sound. regardless, going back to thrash here makes this album awesome)
6. Kill em all - Being completely thrash is awesome, and there's great passion, but a lot of the writing doesn't live up to other albums (still very good)
5. Hardwired - Very diverse, 1 song can fit for any metallica fan. really good writing and production, the only downside is that some of the songs are filler, but at least are well produced and are good instrumentally
4. Black album - Mainstream sound is actually dope, and production is freaking amazing. simple but good
3. Justice - outstanding writing, but no bass. despite that this album is really good
2. Master of puppets - perfect the whole way through. each song kicks ass
- Ride the lightning - Everything is a banger, (1 & 2 could go either way)
I agree
I’ve listened to all of ride the lightning I think and that’s it
well some of their other popular songs but no other full albums
ive listened to all but 3, honestly kind of glad i did, this is my favorite metal band
My favorite metal band is slipknot though I don’t really listen to metal, mostly skate punk or grunge
slipknot is probably my #2 metal band tho
The most underrated:
Kill em all - No remorse
Ride the lightning - Escape
Master of puppets - Damage inc. or lepper messiah
And Justice for all - To Live is to die
Black album - Holier than thou/struggle within
Load - Aint my b*tch or wasting my hate
Reload - Low man's lyric
St.Anger - Dirty Window (maybe not the most but still)
Death magnetic - either judas kiss or my apocalypse
Hardwired - Now that we're dead
AJFA > KEA > MOP > RTL > Black >>>>>> Load > DM > Hardwired > Reload > St Anger
yes i am a first 5 purist
its not that i dont like the style of them as much its just that they arent good
the 1st 5 are the best but everything else doesnt suck
dont get why hardwired is ranked so high on yours though
kinda felt like them trying to return to thrash except without the proper inspiration and motivation
also rtl is the weakest of the first 4 imo because there are a few missteps
fade to black only gets so much love cause ballad prove me wrong
(i still like it)
trapped under ice is kinda corny
escape is just no
i mean yeah ballads are likable by a lot of people
only song from the first 5 i just dont like
cough cough all of hair metal
like maiden
they just kept repeating sappy ballads until the money baby album killed everything
no i dont think iron maiden is hair metal, more like nwobhm (theyre still over the top)
bands like kiss basically
oh yeah kiss
dude they are not gonna return to complete thrash again but i like hardwired because it's versatile and i like that kind of stuff
a lot like DM more which makes sense
funny how in the 80s the underground was absolutely thriving and it took one band to just let them completely kill 80s mainstream off
yeah i dont think they'll return because they're old rich guys, a lot of the stuff needed for good inspired content is made by being... not an old rich guy?
i mean they already have their life and children, they arent as devoted anymore
they wrote all of that when they were young
plus they probably wont go to thrash clubs and stuff to see other local bands performing for some genuine inspiration
so yeah they could make some new good stuff but it doesnt compare
true
hardwired and dm just kinda felt like them kicking up the tempo
better than before tho
also end of the line is a creeping death repeat and i'm the only one who hears the similarities and i dont get it
i didnt like that one as much but it was still cool
also i just learned what the cover for load is and i feel disturbed and cant look at it the same
however, the title is more accurate
it is pretty bad yeah
gn
disagree
Stfu load is good
shuts the fuck down
i don't care if it isnt thrash but i dont think the songs are well done
king nothing is the only cut i can really enjoy from it and even then its a little annoying
Some of them maybe but a lot are pretty good
No
ok
the lyrics for anesthesia, call of the ktulu, orion, to live is to die, and suicide and redemption slap
