when the prequels originally came out, people thought they were a bad addition to the canon
but Dave Filoni came in and expanded the hell out of that era with the clone wars
and its become a really compelling era of the timeline, and my personal favorite actually
im not saying its the exact same situation with the sequels, especially since they didnt have an overall plan so the era itself isnt very heavily defined in the same way the prequel era was
but for both cases my point is,
what happened happened, and the best we can do is try to make sense of it
so i respect Filoni and Favreau for trying
To name an example of how i think this was done well:
for alot of people who hated the new trilogy, that ||Luke Skywalker appearance in Mando S2 and subsequent appearance in BoBF, really made up for the way his character was handled in TLJ||
