SZNZ was originally planned to have Jake Sinclair as the leading force of the project and Rob Mathis (who did orchestration for OK Human) as a prime collaborator, but unfortunately Weezer's management pulled it apart.

In all honesty I do think it has a nice rythm and there is a story behind the song, and it doesn't really feel like a sellout song

But it's very overplayed on the radio in general as well

I like it a lot but I have terrible musical opinions so I can't be trusted

usually with weezer i just ignore the lyrics because they usually kinda suck, especially on maladroit (the best weezer album imo)

nah I think people don't give rivers enough credit as a songwriter

like all the best weezer albums (not including maladroit because maladroit is not one of their best) have pretty solid lyrics, the topics are rarely very deep or anything but that's part of the appeal and I think that's always what they're going for
