#Saviors Discussion
1 messages · Page 24 of 1
this line in particular reads to me like it’s about Joey
He looked younger than normal too LMAO
i don’t think that’s about joey lmao
it’s def a reach but it’s my personal theory
that’s fair
Yeah he should do short sleeves more often I know exactly what you’re referring to
like it’s scary that he still loves his son despite the fucked up shit he did and how angry he is
Fr dude his tattoos look sick why doesn't he show them more
it’s one of the weakest tracks for me but I still love it
Saviors and Corvette Summer are my least favs
I thought this too actually
OEB is my least favorite because I think he’s leaned into “sassy” Billie more than enough in recent years… if that makes sense.
glad I’m not the only one
And it makes sense for a song about fatherhood and sometimes feeling like it’s a struggle
Son sucks but I still have to love him because I can’t not, scary
great way to put it
Lyrically a great song IMO
probably the strongest song on the album lyrically
or at least up there
nvm it’s not the strongest but it is lyrically very strong
so does Coma City
I expect a father to still love his shitty son, but ideally still love them by expecting better from them
how are yall not mentioning dilemma
cmon jar
Still my favorite lyrically
okay well the parts where there’s actually words
John did you see the modmail message
Strange Days has the best lyrics imo
Holy shit not until now
That’s gotta be a prank
bro it HAS to be
Either intentionally or unintentionally hilarious
it already made its way to the starboard
But also whoever the prankster is doesn’t know how nuclear family works
and Cygnus made it a copypasta
that part made me lol too
Laughing my ass off in the pharmacy rn
genuinely stared at it for five minutes trying to figure out what the fuck I read
laughing my ass off at this in walmart rn
people in the skincare section looking at me funny
help
i’ve had fever stuck in my head all day and i can’t even put the song on to help
I've been having that snippet on loop bro
i understand what people mean when they say it sounds like a high school film song
but
it slaps
Bro my mom asked me to play this album in full again she really loved it lmao
Not a real link apparently.
want the link?
yes
thjank uuu
yeah
heres the .mp3!
Father to a Son sounds like Save Me by Queen.
Damn juvenile delinquents would’ve fit better from the snippets
@hearty solar you can’t send file downloads of songs here
That part doesn’t matter
we just haven’t got it here yet
You can’t send file downloads for copyrighted content period
alr
Farter of all shits
BILLIE NO
Billie said the n word again guys
I turn that shit up
got suzie chapstick and father to a son stuck in my head at walmart
like i’m gonna cry in the middle of a store
me when I get no bastard cake
one pied bastard
that’s just pie in the sky
What is this from
real life
yeeeeep
Can he hurry up
Not again Billie…
Right in the bloody, bloody heart?
I need someone to layer Sweet Child of Mine over the intro to Saviors
They’re very similar melodically and I just wanna hear it at this point
It’s been so awesome seeing so many people here and on the subreddit be so happy with the album. Seriously feels like Green Day Christmas and it hasn’t been like that since 2016 so it’s really cool. Not just for people to like the album but it’s awesome that it’s almost universally loved already and we’re all having a good time today with it
RIGHT?
It makes me so happy too
With Father of All it was all so fucking depressing when it dropped because it was so poorly received by everyone
And that was my first Green Day album rollout so it all felt just extra disappointing to me
But this time it's so different and nice
I would say even before 2016. I feel like some people were really divided on RevRad. Pretty much all universal acclaim on Saviors. There’s something here for everybody.
RevRad was a special album for me. It released right when I started my freshman year of college. It will always have a special place in my heart.
This is true
I have seen very few Saviors haters. Actually I haven’t seen any saviors haters just some saviors meh-ers
same except freshman year of high school. very special place in my heart for that album
Same im so happy to see all the positive reception
completely deserved by gd
so refreshing
Bro I was showing Saviors to a friend who hasn't heard a Green Day album in a while and they liked it but they skipped Fancy Sauce 5 seconds in BRO😭
nah they didn’t even give it a chance
I mean fancy sauce does start slow
Babby
Also freshman year of college for me
😭
I got my cousin to listen to the album during his plane ride, hopefully he likes it
Same
Babby
Is Fever still a no show?
yeah he cancelled on drinks again
I can't fucking believe I'm looking forward to Fever dude
I am too
That snippet just sounds so groovy and catchy
Honestly Strange Days remembered me of Letterbomb with Dookie's album strumming patterns
I feel like it would be my top fav if the solo was a bit longer, I feel it was like forced to end, idk
I get that weird feeling after it
My top favorite ones are Dilemma or Saviors
the snippet sounds like dog shit
No it doesn’t
it do
it sounds like Here Comes The Shock levels of bad
How much did you hear of it? The new 40 something second one or the 10 second?
Not even close what
the new 40 second one
copium
Nah I fr can't get it off my head lol
you just got a crazy good album from Green Day and yall are looking forward to a throwaway foam song
That's also part of it probably LMAO
I guess I just really like the FOAM vibes. I mean my favorite song on Saviors is Corvette Summer
Fever sounds so catchy, it’s stuck in my head
Yeah I do too
These kids are so dopamine deficient they always need something new coming out
youths these days
Like bro I'm starving for a new Foxboro album
Listen to Dos
and stop drop and roll
makeout party my beleaguered
I swear to god I'm the only person whose favorite foam song is I was a teenage teenager
That's crazy lol
I also really like it
I always hated it
I kinda like it too
I like foam more than most
That's my favorite one LMAOOOOOOO
And by more than most I mean it's not my least favorite
Like, not my fav from that one, but I don't hate it
Meet Me on the Roof is my most listened to song on Spotify
Now that's wild

And second to that is fucking Holy Toledo
jaw dropping
Did you just start using spotify last year
Nah
I just like
Played Holy Toledo like two days straight when it dropped
I fucking loved that damn song
Also i'd like the haters to know that my lesbian sister's favorite song after Bobby Sox is Corvette Summer
Haters
CORVETTE SUMMER POG
Corvette Summer is really good
There's some haters in here
I should make a Green Day Garage Rock playlist idk why I haven't done that yet
Also, Pollyanna with Saviors mixing would be great.
It would've been goated
She's so real for that
Almost anything with Saviors mix would be great
Corvette Summer is fun
CLA and Cavallo did such a great job with Saviors
I would love to see another GD album produced by Butch Vig tho
Same
my sister loves bobby sox
The cowbell is so good
I concur with the Corvette Summer cowbell being the best auxiliary percussion in a rock song since Short Skirt Long Jacket
Can't get enough
it adds a lot to the song
Okay Graffitia is the best
I just love teenage teenager
It's crazy I usually air guitar with songs, but then with corvette summer I air cowbell
Except for that last lick of the solo that rules
There's a cowbell in that song?
Wtf
I've had to sit through Short Skirt Long Jacket so many times and I've never noticed that
Oh
No there's a vibraslap
I meant auxiliary percussion in general
Corvette Summer has epic cowbell, Short Skirt Long Jacket has epic vibraslap
cake mentioned
as a self proclaimed cake superfan short skirt long jacket is decidedly mid
Ope
i've always thought the title track from that album was the better song
comfort eagle
but not as much cool vibraslap in that song
I like Going The Distance
eh that one's ok
And the cover of Mahna Manha
I prefer love you madly from comfort eagle
Those are the only songs ik
Title track is great though
no phone is also a good cake song
and sick of you from their "newest" album
which was 12? years ago
it's been a long time
Their most recent album is from two years after 21CB
and another song that the lead singer posted on twitter in 2021
Ridiculous
to be blunt it kinda sucked
sounded like a demo
but yeah john mccrea is like 60 so i don't think new music is gonna happen
i wish they'd tour here though
Get around, I can get around
Video is too long, can you give me a timestamp
youtube equivalent of "yeah i aint reading all that, im happy for u tho or sorry that happened"
finally got to listen to the whole album and my ranking is
1.Living in the 20's
2.Dilemma
3.Fancy Sauce
4.Goodnight Adeline
5.Strange Days are Here to Stay
6.One Eyed Bastard
7.Bobby Sox
8.1981
9.Coma City
10.Father to a Son
11.Corvette Summer
12.Look Ma, No Brains
13.Saviors
14.Suzie Chapstick
15.The American Dream Is Killing Me
Definitely gonna let my thoughts on the whole album simmer for a bit, but my Top 3 as of now is Look Ma, 1981, and Suzie Chapstick
Holy SHIT they're not even trying to hide that they're lying LMAO
awesome

The urge to send a shitpost meme rn
Man. I want to sleep so I can get to the station early in the morning to catch my train home but I just keep thinking about what a ride we’ve had for the past 4 months with this band.
hearing tadikm for the first time
the hype was real
promotion for saviors was excellent
I got to see them play it at the Fremont show. I think what’s wild for me at least is it all came full circle for me. I was at the Fremont show and the Rough Trade Records show
Beginning of the era and the album release. Just very humbling.
#band-news message Between being a single, the music video and this bobby sox seems like a candinate for the setlist. It does fill a similar space to coming clean though.
Best promotion they've done for an album I think ??? I was a kid during AI and 21stcbd era so I wouldn't know.
Maybe the anniversaries also had something to do with this huge promotion.
did you forget this peak promotion?
Damn how could I forget that
Worst song so far is Bobby Sox at a 6/10
This album is a pristine mixed bag, it's good despite the different flavors this is getting mostly positive reception
Call her green day cuz im her Savior
What does that even mean
New word salad just dropped
Bro don't know
Know what
And weren’t you ALSO at the Irving plaza show😭
rn my favorite songs are 1981, saviors, goodnight adeline
basic songs but damn they're good
My top 3 is
Goodnight Adeline
Corvette Summer
Strange Time Are Here To Stay
My least favourites
Comacity
Goodnight Adeline
Corvette Summer
Strange days are here to say.
Saviors
They remind me of the Triology too much, not that I hate the triology. They're good songs to listen to once in a while. Not much interesting but it's still playable.
WHY GOODNIGHT ADELINE
Random opinion, Saviors should have been a three part song with Strange Days are Here to Stay - Living in the '20s - Saviors all worked into one epic song
Maybe you could throw Coma City in there
Strange Days are Here to Stay into Coma City which explodes into Living in the '20s and then Saviors as the epic-y ending.
I like the idea. Could've been cool and more enjoyable
Someone needs to mix that rn
After having repeatedly listened to and collected my thoughts on Saviors, I have somewhat of an amateur "review"
What an incredible return to form, it's not the absolute greatest of Green Day's work by a longshot but it's certainly got it's charms. Let's not kid ourselves, we knew the combination of Green Day, Rob Cavallo and CLA was gonna produce some heat and it did. This is an amalgamation of everything Green Day has experimented with since the trilogy rolled into one and it makes the absolute best it can with those sounds. This album (while being produced by Rob Cavallo) doesn't really put me in mind of vintage Green Day and it's not really supposed to, this is clearly it's own thing. You can tell so much love was poured into these tracks, these guys sounded like they had a blast recording this and hey it paid off, it's a great set of cuts. Everything from the suzie Chapstick to Living In The 20s had me hooked in from the freaking start, loved this
8/10
Yeah 😂
26
Yeah I’ve been here basically since the server opened? I think?
My 3 least favorites
Look Ma No Brains
Saviors
Bobby Sox
Saviors (the song) has really grown on me. It was one of my least favorites at first but I’m really digging it
😭
lmnb and saviors???
my 3 least favorites (not in order)
Bobby Sox
Father to a Son
Fancy Sauce
All 3 of these are still bangers tho this is a very consistent album
I can see people not liking Father To A Son but for me I feel like there is a really strong connection in the lyrics
oh no yeah i would probably like it a lot more if i could actually uhhh read the lyrics
spotify doesnt have most of the saviors lyrics yet lmao
its probably on genius or something but 🤷
man i’m loving strange days are here to stay
someone said it sounds like stay the night and letterbomb had a child
and it’s true
but i think it’s a really cool song
No One Knows is definitely one of those😔
My top 3 .
LMNB
Fancy sauce
Suzie
I think even Billie said Look Ma is his favourite too
It felt like the verse was going for too long
But I gotta listen to it in full
This is the long snippet of the b-side Fever, present in the Japanese edition of Saviors, out this week
someone merged the snippets
Unused song ???
No it’s an outtake from FOAM
That was released as a bonus song on the Japanese release of Saviors
This goes so hard
On the back of Japanese CD, it credits Butch Walker for producing the song. So it’s either left over from FOAM or they recorded it with Butch after FOAM was released, but before Rob Cavallo came on to do Saviors.
At this point it’s got the same production team I’m pretty sure and everything for the mastering or whatever, it’s a Saviors b-side
Oh
If it’s butch walker then that’s different
Could also be an outtake from the songs between foam and saviors
We do know that originally Butch Walker was producing the "next Green Day album"
Faver? I hardly know her
it can’t be an outtake if it leaked before the album and is on saviors😭
I did
People keep reuploading mine though 👹👹👹
It’s an outtake from FOAM, but a Saviors b-side.
Yes, a bonus track.
apparently it’s on all asian releases which is weird
Mix of 2 existing snippets of the song made by me.
Images in video & thumbnail edited by me.
Song made by Green Day
i thought favorite son was 21cb?
It was a b-side for the 21 guns single
well it’s on both

yeah
governator, too much too soon and shoplifter were the deluxe i thought
ah okay no worries
i was tripping bc i couldn’t remember it on there
i love shoplifter
obviously take this with a grain of salt but this is interesting
cuz that’s when it’s out in japan
so
maybe we get it on streaming then?
yeah
that could be right
I wouldn’t hold your breath on it
either way we’ll get it
For sure
but it’ll be interesting to see if greenday release it
Favorite Son was only released in Japan and on the rock against bush comp
send a link?
Me when I lie on the internet
I’m fucking with you
not you
^^
i’ve never seen that rock against bush thing
Title: Favorite Son
Album: American Idiot
Lyrics:
He hit the ground running,
At the speed of light.
The star was brightly shining,
Like a neon light.
It's your favorite son.
It's your favorite son.
A fixture on the talkshows,
To the silver screen.
From here to Colorado,
He's a sex machine.
It's your favorite son.
It's your favorite son.
Bu...
Oh.
One sec
It has an additional outro to it too on that version.
u fucking with me or u being fr
Being fr
Green Day - Favorite Son from Rock Against Bush Vol. 2. 2004
I don't own shit
This version
I’ve got that cd actually
It sounds like static age and panic song
God I am in love with this album
Every song is fucking incredible
Definitely worth all this wait
Yes
I think it’s one of the best on the album
1981 reminds me of monkey wrench + church on sunday + a little bit of back in the usa and revolution radio
The JP CD is on discogs
SO WHY FEVER OUT 😭
https://www.discogs.com/release/29536090-Green-Day-Saviors
listened to saviors again to give it a more unbiased review and the album in general didn't hit like it did the first couple times
really taking everything in more than previous listens i think the album is just simply "good"
it's not outstanding
living in the 20s, father to a son, fancy sauce, goodnight adeline, suzie chapstick are still great songs but wasn't really feeling everything else
as much as the other times i've listened to the album
Hard disagree, it’s perfect. But we can agree to disagree
i don't regret being hyped for the album or anything in hindsight
but
idk it could have been better
now that the "new album" novelty has worn off
i think given the choice between saviors and something like revrad i'm gonna pick revrad every time
this being in a relative sense as i've already listened to the album like 7 or 8 times
Wish the tones weren't so middle of the road, that's the one thing holding this album back
Yeah, songs like 1981 and 20s could have used more distorted, louder guitars
It's not bad, the tones still work but that's my preference
I disagree with this part
Louder guitars would've been bad imo
RevRad suffers from that
Not louder in the mix, I meant just more abrasive
listening to revrad right now and yeah it's true
revrad sounds like loudness war all over again
Ew
it's a wall of sound
Rev Rad would have been so much better with Rob
They better just keep making albums with Rob and CLA for a few years lol
I personally think Saviors is really really solid
Its not on my top 5 but it's really good
It's what we should've had instead of FOAM
Im dumb about these things but is the album ratings for the charts out yet? I wana know how it's performing
Why does it matter, for a band that has such a huge discography where every album has a unique sound, how their work ranks in the end? Like, all albums are solid in their own ways— you can still appreciate Saviors without arguing that it’s in the “top 5”
The chart won’t come out until this Friday
Agree, I have my own 'top 5' of favorites but it's purely subjective. I don't think or care about some agreed upon ranking or general concensus.
Saviors has some unforgettable melodies
@worn gull
1981 is a banger but it is also to repetitive
I kinda agree with saviors, but i think the lowest ill give it would be a 3
For me its to simple, and i don't like the chorus, as i mentioned is one of the many songs that are to repetitive
Green day has not failed me, but the singles gave me hope that this would be the album that would beat revolution radio, i guess i was wrong
this album is probably tied with revolution radio for my no. 2/3 album
honestly i still dont know whether i like dookie enough for a no. 2 spot
yes sacrilegious green day server i know
What would you rate all 14 albums? From favorite to least?

Money Money 2020
Saviors is somewhere around below RR - above kerplunk
Well saviors is more interesting than Insomniac tho
Ugh it's hard to rank, because recency bias and their albums are different and good for different reasons
But it's not better than Nimrod
Dookie under foamf is insane
STRANGE DAYS ARE HERE TO STAY HAS BEEN PLAYING IN MY HEAD FOR 2 DAYS STRAIGHT. It’s starting to legitimately bother me, it’s getting distracting. Fucking Green Day.
that is a old ranking not the one I have now
yea strange days has been in my head all morning
my dad listened to it and he fucks with it
My friend from Japan recorded it with a phone and sent it to me so I can hear it, so I thought about sharing it with everyone. Until someone shares one with a good sound quality, I think it's better than nothing.
If this is not permitted I am going to delete it.
All rights belong to their respective owners - Green Day
How we feeling bout dis one
Foam
Yeah it's fucking mid as hell
There’s a reason it was just a bonus track
I wouldn't call it bad but it's close lol
The first verse is good but it falls off after that
And it falls off pretty hard
it’s stuck in my head for some reason but yeah
So glad this is a bonus track, this honestly is so boring 💀
I like the riff but that’s it
Yeah I do not really like it. Also the verse kind of gives me country vibes for some reason
The chorus sucks 😭
Yeah this song is honestly pretty bad lol
Tbh ive been listening to saviors a lot…
It really works as an album and has a great flow
Me too lol
feverrr tonight
Tmi think some songe dont really work all too well as standalones BUT in the album context they do
well said
The glow is good and most songs are short enough that the album never gets boring even during the slow songs
I still love Saviors even though I’ve overplayed the shit out of it, and I think it is way way way better than RevRad
Its really good. Its definitely not green days best album but it hits that ‚accepting to have aged‘ kind if spot after ‚midlife crisis‘ (foamf) well and in tandem with the great producion & mix just works well
That whole accepting aging after midlife crisis thing is even more true of RR following the trilogy imo
Some cool lyrical moments, even though the lyrical repitition and the amount of times billie rhymes the same words with eachother again and again is a bit strange
I think Fever is a fun one
Fever might be pretty damn bad but at least it isn't Here Comes the Shock
I dont think the trilogy was a midlife crisis, at least not the coming of age one
Nah it’s worse 💀
It sounds almost lifeless
I think with foamf was the point where they wanted ti rejuvenate themselves forcefully
I at least liked the first verse on fever, that's more than I can say for Here Comes the Shock
Maybe not, but aging is a more prominent theme in RR than Saviors
Yeah I get that lol
This, Billie's vocals sound so half-assed in this song holy shit
True, but i dont mean the theme of saviors, more the sound and lyrics/song structure
Okay yeah I gotcha
Exactly
Like Oh Yeah
Yeah oh my god
Oh yeah slaps doe
I hope Butch Walker doesn't work with these guys again oh my GOD
Oh Yeah is my least favorite Green Day song I lost all hope for the album when I heard it. It’s one of the most soulless songs I’ve ever heard.
I liked some of his work with them
I love FOAM but damn man I don't think he gets how Green Day is supposed to sound
Father of all is the only song that sounds good
Great opener
But it goes downhill after that
I think Teenage Teenager sounds pretty good. Only bad thing is the lyrics.
That's my second least favorite Green Day song lol
Damn what’s your least favorite
foam title track chorus is good
Here Comes the Shock
Valid
And my third least favorite has just arrived in the form of Fever LMAO
I honestly think HCTS is better than Fever
I thought fever would have a better chorus based on the snippets
But naw
Very boring
Idk I think like
I do get
I gotta fever tonight stuck in my head
I was really excited for a new Green Day when Here Comes the Shock was coming out and i couldn't believe how bad it was
I joined this server the day that song came out cuz I needed to talk about how much I disliked the song
HERE COMES DA SHARK
snorts cocaine
Worst part of the song tbh
For real
I was excited for Damn Juvenile Delinquents but damn man after Fever I kinda don't wanna hear it
It was another song snippet that leaked along with the 8 second snippet of Fever
Oh shit I haven’t heard
This song leaked on internet as a leftover of Green Day's 'Father of All Motherf***s' album, released in 2020.
yea it does
I feel bad for Japanese fans who have to hear this trash after how good Fancy Sauce is
This might be the lamest thing GD has ever written
I got reminded of this and man now that we've heard Fever thank God we didn't get this holy shit
THIS FUCKS
SIGN ME THE FUCK UP
feverrr tonight
What does this even mean LMAOOOOOOO
life’s expensive when you’re going fast
I can't believe how ass this song is bro
i love it
it reminds of old greenday ngl
just a simple track about being alone and getting blazed lmao
True
That's my main problem with Here Comes the Shock
Honestly most of the new material just feels like the longshot songs for me
Laid back, low energy rock n roll music without high ambitions but a chill vibe
Also definitely Suzie Chapstick
Yeah, but some of the songs also just scream Green Day to me. Especially Strange Days
That one also sounds like fbht
The most “classic green day” sounding songs from the album imo are:
TADIKM
LMNB
1981
Strange days
Dilemma
But i like most of the slower stuff too
I keep forgetting how good Dilemma is until I hear it. I can see it being my favorite in the long run. I’m not good at music theory, but there’s something going on with the melody that they don’t normally do, and I love it.
Sure let’s go with that. Idk I feel like it’s riddled with progressions that are like less straightforward than normal. It’s almost jazzy(?) even though that certainly isn’t the right word. Like I said I’m over my head.
Yea dilemma bridge and solo slap
Is it just me or are the spotify lyrics for saviors still not up yet?
The Apple Music aren’t either
I love it but also this audio quality is 💩
After listening to Saviors once again front to back , I can finally confirm that it truly is one of the Albums of all time.
Billie sang the songs and played the guitar like a guitarist. Mike missed no notes and perfectly played the bass guitar like a bassist and Tre hit the drums with his drum sticks.
Overall and once again ,Saviors truly is one of the albums of all time.
bravo cavallo
I hope it reflects in sale numbers as well
Last I saw sub reddit an estimate of 40-50 k opening week was put forth making on par with FOAM 😩
One par with foam is still peaking at I think #2 on Billboard 200
Idgaf really how much thing sell though I just think it would be cool for Green Day to be active in pop culture again in a way that isn't just AI and Dookie memories
tbh I think foamf sales wouldnt have taken a huge hit week one.
I don't love it but honestly if FOAM had more weird songs like that it would have been a better experimental album.
: 12
: 13
: 12
Total: 37
37 songs too many
At least it's an odd number so there's a song in the exact middle of it: Stray Heart
plus demolicious
and the otis big mixes
Aren't those just the same songs?
Imagine saying that when Stay the Night, Nuclear Family, Let Yourself Go, Rusty James, Stop When the Red Lights Flash, Lazy Bones, X-Kid and 99 Revolutions exist
well no they’re different
It's a different mix, but they're the same exact tracks
some of them have lyric changes too
I'm surprised that the general public doesn't talk about 21stCB that much I mean
21 Guns was huge
Huge shit amirite
Livin' in the 20'z reminds me of AI and 21stcbd
We all die young someday
we all die young and watch it slip away
Reminds me of that Evangelion song, Kom Susser Tod or something
Tumbling down tumbling down 🎶🎶🎶
yeah for sure
Are you talking about the anime??
Yeah
Y’all if you only got one vinyl, this is your sign to get two; any variant does it
The vinyl booklet is a HUGE poster
I mean, bigger than what you got at the listening party
I was expecting the back of it where the lyrics are to have more of the zine’s design but it’s a bit bland. If you want to have the lyrics, get a second one and you get a poster!!!!

Do you guys think the general consensus is that Saviors is better or worse than RR
Since a lot of younger fans had RevRad as their first album release the concensus would be RevRad better.
I like Saviors way more but I'm in the minority
down with the moral majority
I also like it way more
I don't think there is anything close to a consensus on Saviors vs. RevRad
Gonna have to wait until the next album cycle for a less biased one probably
Critical consenus even has them basically even with each other
Which I can respect
Both are 72/100 on metacritic
Some critics rating Saviors higher and vice versa so it averages out to the same. Metacritic is the aggregate score like rotten tomatoes so
However not everyone has published reviews on Saviors yet
So time will still tell
I’m probably not as young as the fans you’re talking about, but RevRad was the first album release I was actively engaged in, and even if it’s partially recency bias, I’m certain I will always prefer Saviors over RR, like by a lot. RR with Saviors production would be interesting though.
RevRad could use some 2min fast songs
Also not young enough to have RevRad as my first album, that was 21CB, but RevRad got me back into the band after not listening to them for years and I think Saviors smokes it
I am a Green Day fanboy since 2009 and only put them aside in 2017 a little after RevRad. Then listened to FOA and though "Damn this is it eh". Then TADIKM dropped in october and I'm a fanboy again.
Saviors is the most "special" GD album since 21CB for me.
Totally same here
Haven't felt like an album release was this special since I was 11, which says a lot because my music world was obviously tiny then
Haven't gotten tired of any of it since friday
Yep totally
Finally framed and going on my wall
This is the same for me.
Mine is supposed to come today but I haven't checked the mail room in my apartment building
Mine is a signed copy from rough trade nyc . Legit needed to frame it
Oh shit yeah
Like there was no way i wasn’t framing that
I miss CD singles with unique art. I have the know your enemy single and I cherished that thing
Yeah, even Oh Love and Let Yourself Go were cool
Same. This whole album cycle makes me feel like a fangirl it’s honestly embarrassing how much it means to me
I was going through my stuff earlier and found this old bootleg that I forgot I had
Iirc I bought it in a record store in Montana
Bootlegs truly is a lost art
@ornate zenith Johnny my man can we have a Cigarettes and Valentines channel so I can ramble on like a madman ?
We da best music
It's okay I can talk about C&V here
In the revent interview when asked about C&V songs that we heard Billie Joe directly talked about Homecoming being made of different C&V songs. That's a new info that we never heard, I think it's safe to assume that we at least partly heard everything one way or another. I believe the b-sides CD with 16 songs is the whole Cigarettes and Valentines tracklist minus Letterbomb (Clusterbomb) and any other track that habe been reworked into American Idiot.
But since The Pedestrian and Broadway are there I wonder if we can safely assume that songs from Money Money 2020 were reworked C&V songs too.
Roshambo is a strong possibility as it is the most complete song on the album and if you remove any odities could fit a Warning era GD album. Plus the lyrics fit.
If we get some AI outtakes for the 20th anniversary I'm hoping for those in that order:
- Cigarettes and Valentines
- Original Roshambo
- Original Horseshoes and Handgrenades
- Original The Pedestrian
- Clusterbomb (Letterbomb demo)
I think so much has been reused that releasing C&V is impossible sadly. It will always be some fanmade approximation
Thanks for coming to my TED talk
Cool info, it would still be good to hear those original demos. Don't know why having the songs reworked should neglect having a proper release
You forgot Favorite Son and Too Much Too Soon, pretty sure those were confirmed
Oh I did not forgot, they were in the b-sides album
- Too Much Too Soon
- Shoplifter
- Governator (I'll be Back)
- Horseshoes and Handgrenades
- The Pedestrian
- Too Young
- Lights Out
- Lately (One More Year)
- Cigarettes and Valentines
- End of the World
- Walk Away
- Broadway
- Waste Away
- Dropout
- 19th Nervous Breakdown
- Favorite Son
Add to that Clusterbomb, maybe some early version of Whatsername and/or WMUWSE, stuff that were repurposed into Homecoming, and you've got C&V hidden somewhere in there.
Here's my favorite playlist
I don't think Governator was on there cause of some timeline issues
Because of Arnold being elected governor in October 2003, the song couldn't have been made until after that
Also 19th Nervous Breakdown is by The Rolling Stones
So that prob erases that
Never seen this. Where did this originate?
The guy who made the Heart Like a Handgrenade documentary posted it on twitter a few years bacl
back
I would kill to get my hands on that cd
Yeah the fact that he has it gives me hope
Kind of annoyed how 1234 go numbered them
This ain’t mine it’s from discogs
But it’s literally just on a hype sticker
Stamp it on the jacket wtf
my preorder fiiinally shipped
w opinion
Oh yeah I want a Roshambo without the voice affects
That’s how they’ve always done it

I expected it and I'm still sad about it
Green Day's music just isnt for him man
then again his Green Day tier list is so damn weird so
let the record show he put
and the trilogy both on the C tier
Form your own opinions guys
Its good to see the users in the comments generally liked the album
the end of the review has nothing to do with the album but just about political talk - like all those bad maga reviews ;D
and he gave a 5/10 to one more time? wat
be consistent at least :D
his input actuslly made sense tho
not really
all he said was that Billie’s political lyrics don’t really make much sense
didn’t knock his actual politics or anything
the Maga reviews are saying he’s stupid and a woke libtard or whatever
Billie never wrote "clearly" about politics, he's not RATM
I don't know why he's expecting RATM out of Green Day
that's my problem, judge the album on the music instead of just how "political" lyrics should be
like he said "oh it's not that pointed" well yeah it's not RATM
even American Idiot wasn't that straight
but anyway, saviors clears one more time, easily
so rating it less,
but it's just his opinion anyway so

but at this point he's mostly an hip-hop reviewers
just look at him rating most hip-hop new albums more than 7/10 :D
when those records are the most un-imaginative things ever (and I like a lot of hip hop)
never trust a man who gave sexyy red a positive review
yeah at this point he's just an hip-hop head trying to get views there
I don’t agree with any of that at all
I’ve seen him rate several hip hop albums terrible scores
De La Soul some peak hip hop
True
R.I.P Trugoy the Dove
I think he’s a good guy I just don’t like his reviews
I mean of course
Like I said I like hip hop myself
And some albums he rated 7/10 when they are the most bland hip-hop
I dunno
But I guess to each their own
Can’t please everyone :>
I love how bobby sox sounds live..... i dont know if i could handle that and coming clean in the same setlist though........
Glad everyone knows he’s just gonna hate anything Green Day
He really said “strange days are here to stay has all the makings of a Green Day classic on the intro” dawg that part is literally just basket case
He just wants basket case 2 I think
Although I do agree on the criticisms given on the “everyone’s a victim” line
Never forget
Yeah he hates Green Day
For those wondering where Dos and Tre are theyre basically interchangeable with Uno
wait
where would he rank Saviors then
D row?
Idek
Yeah
I’m convinced if dookie came out today he would say it’s ass
21cb at e is crazy
This is the fairest point I’ve read about these rankings
Also, we saw how much of a difference marketing made
I’m not saying it’s the only reason why it’s good but if they released that many father of all vinyl variants you’d have everyone pre-ordering them like crazy
They just have to portray it as an album worth buying/liking
i'm 27, been listening to green day since 2010, and i prefer saviors to rev rad
3/10 is rough
Id say a 5-6 is fair
Fantano clearly only likes features, trap beats and Swedish songwriters
Im pissed too but honestly I didn’t expect anything over a 4
And also he’s just one guy on the internet at the end of the day
I don’t even credit his opinion on them bc he thinks the trilogy is better than American idiot
I LOVE SAVIORS 😄
9/10 imo I LOVE IT 😭
ngl you aint wrong
i consider AI and Dookie to be a 10/10 and they smash this
giving it a 9 or a 10 is disrespectful to those albums for me haha
IMO you shouldn’t be getting your opinions from someone else but critics are great for getting an outside perspective to make you a better listener on your own. For example Pitchfork gave American Idiot a 7.2 and FOAM and 6.7. Might sound crazy but it’s valuable to read/hear someone explain why they think FOAM is almost as good as AI
hmmm
i love FOAM
imho
FOAM was tre cool at his best
I LOVED IT!!!
every green day album is 8-10 AND I MEAN EVERY (except warning)
i love tre i droom
yeah
foam was pretty cool imo, especially that title track
huh?!
I forget what song is my least fav
my least fav was probably junkies on a high
No on saviors
oh right. probably bobby sox for me
I think 1981 or living in the 20\s
They aren’t badd
But just different than the other album
I like saviors it just doesn’t blow me away
But not a lot of albums do
Bobby Sox is probably the best song on there
I personally think that I don't really need Green Day to blow me away because they have done so already
I'm happy with a really good album at this point, especially at the point they're at
I mean for that i appreciate it
But Green Day is just music i put on when I’m in the mood for them
yea I appreciate its consistency
Dude the instrumental carries Coma City so hard like damn Billie's lyrics and vocals on that song may not be the best but GOD DAMN Tre and Mike are giving it their all and it makes the song so good
that instrumental is absolute fire
Cum city
Green Day - 1981 (NO GUITAR)
#saviors #greenday #instrumental
I don’t know why this is so funny to just listen
Damn Bobby Sox has grown so much on me
I thought it was okay first listen but it’s great now
Tre and Mike basically carried the whole Insomniac album
Right next to the prerelease songs bobby Sox is probably the best
On the album
Insomniac bottom 3 albums for me
Bro
Hey
They were all great
1981 if it were pause screen music
If it was just the drum and the bass it literally could be one
They sound really good at the irving show. Some cool deepcuts. Always love 2000 light years. Bobby sox was great hope to see them play it more.
Billie was screaming for part of brain stew and i would love to hear him scream more live. Sounds really good
Still mad nothing is in S 💀
GOT A HQ VERSION OF FEVER
Where??
its a drive link
it’s on YouTube
I sent it earlier
Track 16 Fever by Green Day
From the album Saviors(Japanese version)(2024)
I do not own the music used in this video. For entertaining purposes only. No copyright infringement intended.
uh lmao
Not allowed to share files of copyrighted songs anyway
mimimimimi
YouTube is fine, if it’s not fine YouTube will copyright strike it
The problem is using this server to host or distribute the files
Because copyright
YouTube link is YouTube hosting it
What do you guys think of the song?
I think it’s fun
prob one of the weaker ones on saviors for me but it’s cool
kind of a vibe
Fever? If it weren’t a bonus track it would easily be the worst for me
Not a fan
Feels like Green Day doing bro country
I really don't like the song personally lol
It has become my third least favorite GD song fr lol
I don’t mind Fever
It reminds me of The Cars
I think you guys are overreacting
It’s not that bad
Fever might be the worst Green Day song
at least here comes the shock has energy with it
all Fever has is

I got a fever tonight🧍♂️
For me it's the worst Green Day song because the chorus is fucking ass and the song is too noisy kinda?
The instrumentation is a mess in that song and I don't think it sounds that great
I hate it. I’ve tried to get into it but can’t
Am I the only one who likes Fever
Galaxy Pink is 🔥🔥🔥
Why
id choose that over lightlife
It's hand claps all over again 😭
idk hey. guess I'm not a fan of the screaming and the basic lyrics in the chorus
the verses aint bad.
catchy tune
esp at the beginning
Cumshot, cumshot, shooting in the distance, it's on your face and hands
Someone said they first heard it that way
And it ruined the song for me 😭
I can't hear it the right way anymore and it may be my fave from the album
loving the photo for the vinyl poster and cd inside cover
nah i love it
I think it slaps lol ur not alone
I'm glad they didn't include that in the album
#greenday #saviors #review
A sincere and honest review from the point of view of a pop punk music producer. Is the newest Green Day album well produced? Are the songs good?
Let's also discuss the accusations of plagiarism of Pink's song: So What
My Punk Rock Spotify Playlist:

This guy has interesting takes
Such a dumb clickbait thumbnail for a video supposedly about a whole album, not just one song
It’s also crazy if that’s the one takeaway from the album
^^
One song with a riff that's similar to So What = whole album ruined!!!!
