#Saviors Discussion
1 messages · Page 20 of 1
saviors to me feels like a love letter to the band's career as a whole
it's not top 5 green day or anything like some have been saying, that's a bit much
100%
but it's still a decent album
Oh so we're talking about it
Father to a Son and Living in the 20s should definetly switch places
Yeah Bobby Sox is a 10/10 and I like it more than Dilemma which I didn't think I'd be saying that about anything
there were times where pieces of the songs feel like direct reprise from older songs
like it was a song you hear on the radio that is familiar but you can't quite place it
title track does sound pretty unremarkable, it's "green day-by-numbers"
if you get what i'm saying
i just finished it 20 seconds ago and i forgot most of it already
Dilemma shoulda been
strange days and 20s should not be next to each other
i’m surprised how good goodnight adeline’s solo is
Billie love that thing. It's the whole thing of the Foxboro Hottubs and it took over GD
On second listen I like goodnight adeline's solo more but it's not a favorite
tell your mailman to hurry up
probably
or move to poland
living in the 20s, goodnight adeline and suzie chapstick are the highlights of the album so far
i only have fancy sauce left to listen to
this is where your problem lies then
Corvette summer fucking slaps
Whatre yall smoking its like one of the legit best tracks of the recird
I like it but it's the worst on the album imo
it's literally the worst :D
That just shows how good this album is though
I am amused at how the Saviors discussion channel is full of people talking about the whole album before it's officially out
I like Corvette Summer a lot
not our fault their shipment teams are idiots lmao
Yeah honestly
Nah its not the worst of the album at all
American dream is the worst id say and maybe coma city
bros got dementia 😭💀
It may as well officially be out if they're shipping it already. It legally isn't or someting but yeah
coma city is my least favorite
TADIKM grew on me tbh
Saviors is so cheap trick / the who i love it
my local record store has it out already lmao
Wow
i’m going tomorrow after college to see it
I mean if you legally have a copy from the label
i already got it on cd and vinyl but
Tadikm is the know your enemy of this album - cool but the worst out of all the tracks
also there were listening parties everywhere
True
If that hadn't been cancelled I still would've heard it by now. The least album releases of all album releases
Still gonna do server listening party though
Listening to fancy sauce for the first time now
i’ll be there dw
Woah whats with the corvette summer hate
Also, a gentle reminder.. it is fine to have opinions and share them, but don't be uncool to other people who maybe have different opinions
Also sounds like cheap trick
i know album rankings are lame but i think it's valid because this is my first time hearing the album
listened to bobby sox again and i like it a lot more the second time
Living in the '20s
Fancy Sauce
Strange Days Are Here to Stay
Goodnight Adeline
Dilemma
Suzie Chapstick
Bobby Sox
One Eyed Bastard
1981
Look Ma, No Brains!
Father to a Son
The American Dream Is Killing Me
Corvette Summer
Saviors
Coma City
Legit one if the top 5 songs
ITs aleady top 5 on the album
Look ma no brains is the best song for me
Not lame at all for a new record
Actually not lame at all but not out of place or anything right now
yeah how lame is it to talk about your favorites from a new album🙄🙄
We will have have opinions and I look forward to discussing them thoroughly in here
living in the 20s is an all time green day song in my opinion
maybe not one of the "best" but certainly one of my favorites
perfect sequel of sorts to horseshoes and handgrenades
like how Bobby Sox is obviously the best song on the album
Living in the 20s has BDE
Living in the 20s blasted my tits off
Bobby Sox and Dilemma are the hard 11/10s for me
well this is akward…
Every time I listen to Dilemma I love it more, and Bobby Sox is the same way
Two competitors for the "best song since 21CB" award
cheaper
After 1. listen:
- Look Ma No Brains
- Corvette Summer
- Living In The 20s
- Fancy Sauce / Dilemma
- Suzy Chapstick
- Adeline
- One Eyed Bastard
- Strange Days
- Bobby Sox
- Saviors
- 1981
- Coma City
- TADIKM
MF THEY GOT A ENOUGH MONEY TO MAKE 23 PRESSINGS
because there's more demand for vinyl than cd today
i’m loving all of the vastly different rankings
that’s a good sign
there’s something for everyone on this album
23 variations is A LOT tho
my overall album rating is probably a 6.5
also
Corvette summer fuxks so hard god damn
Id say (after 1 listen) its on par with revolution radio, although no song comes close to forever now. But rev rad is a top 5 gd record for me so that’s really good
Saviors probably goes in between Dookie and Nimrod for me, like Dookie right above it which would put it at #5 favorite
yall are gonna disagree with me aha
I love the 1980s hairband Cherry Pie Pour Some Sugar on Me ass intro on Corvette Summer

I agree with this
Nimrod/RevRad level
but I think it has more standouts than revrad
yes
I am about even in how much I like Nimrod and RevRad so that's about the same for me
Insomniac is about a 7.5, 21CB is a 9 and AI is a 10
Dookie is about an 8 but it is below Insomniac for me personally
First impression is probably a 7/10 for me on Saviors and I'm gonna have to give it a week of relistens before I can give it a less biased review
but I know that it is a much more successful and influential album
Songs like Coma City, Suzie Chapstick, and Strange Days were huge misses for me
i would say saviors is probably my #9 green day album
nimrod
21cb
american idiot
insomniac
dookie
revrad
warning
kerplunk
and then saviors
I think my album ranking is
- Insomniac
- Dookie / American Idiot (both the same tbh)
- 39 Smooth / Nimrod
- Rev Rad / 21 CB / Saviors
- FOAMF/ Uno / Dos / Kerplunk
- Tre
Maybe i missed one idl rn
Saviors really has some songs that sound totally new though and that's really cool to me
Revrad is awesome but it didn't really feel like it went somewhere new
when is this album releasing
I have a hard time entertaining anything other than AI being the greatest album every released
and I don't even mean like..
a collection of the best songs
Nah it played it safe. But its highs were HIGH and the lows were Meh at worst
Well you made them cause you were bored...
I mean as an entire thematic concept fully executed as an album
Stop being so mean you probably put lots of work into those
just kidding they're ass!!!
I can't really find something to directly compare Bobby Sox to
I'm sorry you don't want to talk about saviors because you haven't heard it
Forever Now is a Top 5 GD song for me.
- Whatsername
- Geek Stink Breath
- Forever Now
- Homecoming
- Restless Heart Syndrome
very interesting list
Coma City is an all time low green day song for me
In no particular order except Whatsername… it is vy far my fave gd song
I'd like Coma City more if he didn't say Coma City so many times
True its very un-green day
i like the line “bankrupt the planet for assholes in space” that’s kinda funny
but coma city kinda just
sucks?
idk
it totally sucks lol
Especially in the end. Also dont like its main chorus melody in the chorus
I am riding the coma city hate train hard
I'm gonna try making a single cover for Fever
Coma City feels like a foam outtake
I'll be the opposite reaction; really like Coma City
I like the song but not the ‚coma city coma city‘ chorus part
it's nothing crazy; but I like it the same as "too much too soon"
yeah the chorus is very lazy
and I feel like it could be cool live
too much too soon fucks, that is an S tier green day song
I can see how people would like coma city but's definitely not my thing which sucks becaue I had high hopes for that one with what reviews said and stuff
Thats a nice baked bean color
the one teaser that turned out to be coma city also sounded really cool
not the baked beans
I love baked beans
Its very ‚singsang‘ and uninspired
Coma City sounds like a jam session song that started as a good idea and then turned into something eh
Ngl baked bean with cottage cheese rocks
the intro of Coma City is definitely stronger than the rest of the song
Coma City had me feeling like I was about to hear a 21CB quality song and then argh
there’s no way that was one of the best songs they had for this album
idk
i feel like anything else could have replaced it
it’s a lot worse than any green day b side tbh
they could have re-recorded their cover of outsider and put it on there instead and it would have been better
Coma city is kinda whack
I’m not a coma city hater I don’t think it’s bad
Yeah its listenable but its the rathest skip
Sonically Suzie Chapstick sounds right off of 21CB
suzie chapstick is a gem
It would have fit
I think Suzie Chapstick is groovy as hell
Also I was super hype over 1981 and it ended up middle of the road in the album for me, that’s not a bad thing it just got ridiculously overshadowed by others
Saviors (The Album) is so good
ngl its my least fav
The vocals doubled thru the verses is so 21CB. Acoustics backing the electrics, roomy drums, Beatle-esque melody & harmony stacks
Its a cool song but the vocals melody seems made up while singing somehow
I wouldn't say it's my least favorite but it's at the bottom for me
understandable
so far tracks have been pretty polarizing :D
Like it seems like hes making it up as he is recording it and is like ‚yeah lets roll woth that whatever‘
actually, coma city might be my least fav
Dude why is corvette summer so hated it damn fucks!
I love corvette summer
the way billie says coffee in 1981 stuck out to me as a bit odd, i think it should have been “cyanide and coffee” instead of the other way around
its actually really catchy
Corvette Summer is literally one if the best songs in the album no kidding
I’ve noticed with this album he has a few lines that feel kinda clunky, like they would be better if you put them somewhere else or in a different order
I'll do a different ranking, my least favorites so far: Corvette Summer, Suzie Chapstick, Saviors :F
Cirbette summer is how the whole of foamf could have sounded like had the album not had butch walker producing it
yeah i was able to pick out at least one weird line in almost every song
but overall the vocals sound excellent
some of their best for sure
Guns made of clay
Wouldve been better as „guns made of PLA“ tbh as its 3d print material
Clunky lyrically or melodically?
Vocal performance is one if gd best and production too but lyrically and melodically a big lackluster at points at least
The amount of syllables line to line isn’t consistent
Yeah that's what I mean pretty much
Doesn't flow so well sometimes
But I can get over it
His voice sounds amazing on this album
I listened to Nimrod and 21CB down last night specifically to see if the syllables and rhythm were more consistent on those albums and they weren’t, I just got used to them
True
“So make the best of this test” vs “tattoos of memories” don’t mirror each other with the rhythm and amount of syllables but we’ve heard it so many times that it feels natural
Hot take depending on who I'm talking but Billie Joe isn't an amazing lyricist, he's just amazing at pulling great melodies out of his ass so he gets away with it
Definitely on full display in Saviors
Great melodies across the board, amazing voice, lyrics are huh sometimes
But the hook always hits
Goodnight Adeline solo is growing on me immensely
And I fucking love the key change
He probably used to be harder on himself and re-write them a lot
usually i’m pretty forgiving when it comes to lyrics so i don’t really mind the album in that regard
Lyrics are not important to me if the rest of the song is great unless there's something really really weird
like living in the 20s isn’t a lyrical masterpiece but it’s sure as hell fun to sing
Living in the 20s rocks my dick clean off
Also I wish Coma City was better because they go ham on it instrumentally
You’re probably a musician then. Musicians hardly care about lyrics as much as non-musicians
Sorry to barge in on this conversation, but did anyone else see that the date for the Toronto show changed? August 1st on the website, but July 31st on the newest social media posts.
Hmm
I'm seeing august 1st everywhere
Haven't looked at social media posts
Might be a typo
I just really hope they clarify it because I cannot miss this show.
Livenation and ticketmaster say august 1st
so oh well
I'd trust those
maybe i can get a talkingvegas style recording of the show
if you’re wondering what the HELL you’re looking at this is the rogers center in toronto
is that where they’re playing? idk
i would assume so
yeah hope they don't change the date ;]
LOOK FOR LOVE (look for love) 🗣️🗣️
“you needed mike on bass guitar” 😭
and then the camera pans over to mike air bassing
Yep, I see. Hope they fix that typo.
This story was so crazy. You would think it would be the other way around, but no.
I've got a robot and I'm fuckin it senseless
That line would be so stupid on its own, to the point I'd be creeped out maybe
But how it's used I love it
i got a buzz like a murder hornet
Should've swapped Saviors and Living in the 20s honestly
Give it that last punch before the closer
idk how to feel about father to a son still
it sounds a little generic
after hearing about how it was one of the best songs on the album for a couple months now i gotta say it comes up short
I think it's among the best personally. I do see why people are disappointed though, considering it was kinda being put on a pedestal
imagine if
I officially rate saviors a 15/10
did you finslly listen John
I didn’t expect this but the title track is actually growing on me with relistens, it’s still pretty unremarkable but I don’t dislike it
Yes me and Addison listened together since her copy arrived today
that’s nice
yeah the title track is very meh for me
black sabbath vibes
not that it’s bad but it’s a little boring
Title track is like a longshot outtake
if anything corvette summer sounds straight off of love is for losers
Billie obviously fucking loves making rock n rolly songs
I still think "Calling All Saviors" would've been a slightly better title
Corvette Summer is my least fav by far
Same
that my image uses or the regular Saviors color?
living in the 20s best song imo
Still really like it though which says a lot
or fancy sauce
Fancy Sauce:
"After being fucked by the American dream, the "Saviors" are waiting for you."
son of a bitch
Living in the 20s rocks my dick off, gives it back, rocks it clean off again
truly it reminds me of something that I’d hear on a 1975 record
for sure
wasn't expecting a song of that calibre from 2024 green day
well i dont want the saviors to wait for me did they ever think about that
weirdos
https://www.cdjapan.co.jp/product/NEOIMP-20840 Anyone know if this is the CD with the bonus track?
after hearing the album itself, tadikm has fallen for me hard. I like it still but dang, it doesn't represent the rest of the album very well
But it has a better flow than „coma city coma city“
Even with the shitty quality leak I can't get coma city out of my head
I dont think the melodies are all that great on saviors, a LOT of the value of this album comes out of the production of the record and how short most songs are. There are only a couple of standout melodies. None of em (except maybe oeb and look ma) come close to the melodic intrigue of green days mist ear wormy intricute melody making. But yeah aside from some exceptions, billie joe isn’t an amazing lyricist, i agree
That line about ||the cops|| goes so hard
1981 is repetitive too but at least the melody is interesting
I can agree with this
And the Instrumental for fancy sauce makes me wanna levitate like that spongebob gif
his songwriting just fell off sometime around 21CB-The Trilogy
I feel the same way
It reminds me of fbht or specifically red tide
Ai and 21cb have some amazing songwriting
Whatsername is one flawless song
Another reason I just can't bring myself to like the trilogy is just how out of left field it is after 21CB
I was so happy with RevRad because it was a return to form, but then they fucked around and found out with FOAM
Should’ve done another rock opera
Really hoping GD can keep this kind of energy up for album 15, and they don't just make a weird turn again
Experimenting is good obviously, but damn
As long as it's a good weird
Nimrod was experimental, and its fabulous
green day's next album should just be something that sounds like saviors but with a little more time in the oven
i agree with the point that a lot of the album sounds half-baked
there's just something missing to a lot of these songs
I want them to do REALLY weird shit. Something really unpredictable, but something grand. Like I can't be able to predict where it's going
Kinda like how I felt when I heard Fall Out Boy's Infinity On High for the first time in full. That was a crazy feeling.
infinity on high is a special album
something like bang the doldrums is what i want green day to be making
if green day covered that song it would fit perfectly on saviors
It would be cool if Billie did that for The Longshot
Not necessarily a rock opera (though I would love that obviously)
They're already going with a "the world is in chaos" theme here with saviors so I hope they can just take that and go all out on that theme
More screaming like on Bobby Sox too hell yeah
Yee
i'm seeing a lot of negativity for living in the 20s by reviewers
goes to show how you should never care about other people's opinions lol
How successful do we think Saviors is gonna be? I'm certain it'll sell better than foam, but I do wonder
I think it will appeal to millennials and gen xers who grew up with them
this is false lmao
100%
The rightest take
Not a lot of songs that would work as poems without music or a melody
It just sounds like theyre holding back. Its good but not amazing. The wanted to play it safe and they put it all into production and not the songwriting itself.
Nah
21cb, ai, warning had very sophisticated writing, more so than their records before. Then after 21cb they went a more simple, „house - mouse“ approach. They just try to fetch some poignant sounding words like ‚cherrybombs and gasoline’ or some stuff like that.. what is “avenue - balihoo (?)”
Its not bad it’s just a very different approach to it
still false bc forever now exists
Its an exception though
Most of rev rad has the same simple house mouse songwriting
Except maybe troubled times
do i need to use spoiler tags when talking about the album
troubled times, somewhere and forever now, outlaws, still breathing
and that’s just one album
basically everyone’s heard it already
ok just want to make sure i'm not breaking rules
I disagree with outlaws and still breathing. Still breathing is super basic
imo the first half is a little stronger than the second half
And outlaws just goes for the poignant sounding stuff i mentioned
you can call it basic but none of the lyrics are basic random rhymes
but i wouldn't call it frontloaded
Theyre still way off from the lyricism in 21cb, warning, ai
idk
But we can agree ti disagree
AI and 21cb has some questionable lyrics too
Dont know about the assasin part, but the orgasm as a spasm of love and hate can make total sense to me
When you hate someone so much you cum
that’s genuinely the only thing i can think of
If you've got a VPN you should be able to connect to New Zealand when it drops at midnight there. Pretty sure that'll be around 6AM here on the east coast US
You love someone so mich you hate him/her or the other way around
Its a pretty common trope
i mean if we wanna talk about basic rhymes
rhyming in my dreams with in my dreams is up there
(on first studio quality listen)
10/10: bobby sox, dilemma, goodnight adeline (this one surprised me), coma city
9/10: living in the '20s, look ma no brains, 1981, fancy sauce, suzie chapstick
8/10: TADIKM, one eyed bastard, SDAHTS, father to a son
7/10: saviors, corvette summer
overall: 8/10. this isn't final by any measure.
every ranking i’ve seen has been so different
Cherry picking single lines that dont jive well doesn’t speak for the rest though. However i wouldnt say green day - overall - ever had great lyrics
only consistencies are saviors and corvette summer at the bottom lol
Its just that they seem to have gotten less ambitious over time
that's not too surprising to me, it's a pretty eclectic record
yeah. i see saviors as more of a bridge between father to a son and fancy sauce
i will give it to corvette summer that it's really, really catchy
I see FOAMF in tandem with Saviors: FOAMF is the Midlife Crisis Album, Saviors is the coming-to-terms-with-aging album
saviors feels like what revrad was trying to be and i think does it better
The DID, but not generally. Its more specific moments that they had them in, in my opinion.
the production is also MILES better
i also think saviors contains some of mike's best bass playing since possibly the '90s
I feel like thats only because it sounds better, not because it IS actually better. If RevRad had Saviors production is would probably smoke it
really? most of the songs Mike just follows the root
I mean, the bass is also nicely audible
his tone is great though
saviors is the first greenday lyrics that have made me laugh bc they’re witty if that makes sense
that may be why i like it. the tone too yeah
“i got a buzz like a murder hornet”
the robot battery line had me cackling
coma city kind of feels like a sister song to murder city
at first i was like "...wait wtf" and then when the line finished i was ded
“i got a robot and im fucking it senseless, it cums with batteries and only speaks in english”
shockingly positive rating on RYM so far
i think bobby sox has some really pretty lyrics in the verses
bobby sox what a song
soooo fucking gay, easily top tier of the album
Idk, to me theyre overshadowed by the constant repeat of the same line over and over again.. the production, vocal performance and mix saves this song for me
i think the simplicity of bobby sox's lyrics is one of its more iconic features actually
RYM is kind of a cesspool, i wouldn’t put any stock in their opinions about anything
what was that about “cherry picking single lines that don’t jive well doesn’t speak for the rest”
oh for sure, i definitely don't expect the rating to hold, especially after He reviews the album
but oh well, they can be wrong all they want
Bobby Sox is my new bi anthem
Well, its not a single line, he sings it like 60 times
Replacing Girls/Girls/Boys
yes that’s how a chorus works
but i was talking about the verses and you came in with how the chorus ruins them?😭
It is not actually, a chorus can habe mire than one line repeatedly
I'm shocked people aren't liking father to a son much
I like it
I get that it was put on a pedestal but dang I'm surprised
ya know, i think that's one of the songs that's just gonna grow on me over time
Yeah because he repeats verse lines as the chorus and the melody doesn’t change, it is super repetitive
When I heard it I immediately got the same goosebumps as I do when I hear WMUWSE
it's a lot to take in on first listen
Similar vibes
yeah very similar vibes to WMUWSE
fancy sauce is another great song but i don’t know if it works for listening on shuffle necessarily?
like i kind of only want to hear it as the closer to an album or setlist
I'm almost certain that the people who don't like it all that much now will grow to love it so much later on
it'd be cool if in 2034 green day did some kind of trifecta concert commemorating Dookie, American Idiot, and Saviors lol probably won't happen tho
Its a vibe song, like respite on the spital fields from ghosts Impera
We’re probably all dead by then lol
... yeah fair point
I'm a sucker for album closers and I'll almost certainly be listening to fancy sauce on repeat for at least a month
i will simply hold onto blind faith
At least until the new weeknd and twenty one pilots albums drop
Fancy sauce is lucky ordinary world exists though
- Bobby Sox / Living in the 20s
- Dilemma
- Corvette Summer
- Goodnight Adeline
- Strange days are here to stay
- The American Dream is killing Me
- One Eyed Bastard
- Coma City
- 1981
- Look Ma No Brains!
- Saviors
- Fancy Sauce
- Father to a Son
- Suzie Chapstick
lmao you have 3 of my 10/10 tracks in the top 5 and then my bottom ranked track 😭
living in the '20s is my highest 9/10
So Much (For) Stardust was my most played song last year by a LOT. Fancy Sauce has a high chance of doing the same this year.
ooo out of 10?
my most played song last year was lost by linkin park im pretty sure
smfs is a great song and album
Fr
i feel like smfs the song works better for listens on shuffle
than fancy sauce does
i’ll play it by itself sometimes
love from the other side was the standout track from that one though
you can tell i miss chester bennington because dilemma and bobby sox are two of my 10/10 songs
Blackout was in my top 5 lol
I love LP
i actually wonder if LP had any influence on them for this record
bc it really does sound like billie is channeling chester a few times vocally
I vibe with this list except I hate coma city
10/10: Living in the 20s, Dilemma, Bobby Sox
9/10: Corvette Summer, Goodnight Adeline, Strange Days are here to Stay
8/10: TADIKM, One Eyed Bastard, Coma City, 1981
7/10: LMNB,
6/10: Saviors, Fancy Sauce
4/10: Father to a Son, Suzie Chapstick
Flop song
Cool parts
But the chorus is a stinker
coma city is an easy skip
don’t call the cops, word on the street is they all quit their jobs is funny tho
banger line
Also coma city is a song that could have benefited from the „chester“ loud vocals
coma city is one of the best songs
Weird because I absolutely love Coma City
idc
agreed
i do kinda like how people's opinions on the songs from the record are drastically differed lol
it feels like the perfect song to match TADIKM
Love Coma City but granted only heard it low quality
idk if that’s just me
coma city sounds too timid or something
Coma city is bottom 3 Green Day songs for me
one eyed bastard would have been by far the best song on father of all
like it sounds meek in a way
needed more punch
very sanitized
“bankrupt the planet for assholes in space” is hilarious considering Elon started shit talking them
I feel like if in coma city he would sing more angry and energetic and maybe sing a slow „coooma ciiity“ instead of „coma city, coma city“ it would be a lit better
I think Coma City is fine, but I can get it why some find it disappointing, it starts strong but then just doesn't go anywhere big
Come City’s atmosphere just feels so badass. I love the airiness and space of the production
the last 45 seconds?
i wanna correct my list
Its magical
Strange Days is 10/10
the last 45 seconds is just a phaser through space :D
such a good song
It has the irish melodies like tadkm
a RYM review described Saviors as a culmination of all their eras and that makes sense to me. i hear Dookie, Nimrod, 21st Century Breakdown, Revolution Radio, and American Idiot all over the thing
I felt like that’s what it was missing
I hear some eras
I felt like it was one dimensional
i hear mainly nimrod, 21cb and foamf😭
Repetitive
Some ai too especially on oeb
The whole album is nostalgic and pulls heavily from all their eras
nah that is literally a foamf song
It sounds a lot like holiday
oh I hear some Father of All too, particularly in OEB and Corvette Summer
like i know it was recorded round then but it sounds like it would fit right in
And its not actually from foamf
First impressions from the teasers is that it would it would sound like a mix of Insomniac/21st and Longshot. Gotta say, I wasn't too far off
Along with 60s/70s/and 80s
exactly ^^
OEB would have been easily the best song on FOA
True
It isn’t actually from foa tho
It was recorded in 2020
corvette summer also would fit right in on a longshot album
which is amazing cuz i love the longshot
Would fit on a cheap trick album
idk i don't actually think the sound they were going for on father of all is a sound they can't do, the execution just didn't work to me
Are you all going to listen to a specific song first
I like that the band is not doing the GD sound in a boring way, one of the most defining traits of Green Day is that they have such a strong identity. FOA was a bold experiment but felt like the first time they ever felt faceless
strange days definitely sounds like it could have been from the american idiot era
i’ve listened to the entire album lmao
nah i always start from beginning
i skip singles
Oeb is the closest billie ever got again to sounding like he did on american idiot tho, no one noticed? And the crunch/clean guitar sounds like holiday
nah
there's actually a pretty sick american idiot-style mix i found of the song on youtube recently
Father of All wasn’t a bad album but Butch Walker is like reverse Midas
From st jimmys stuff
Turning everything he touches into shit
i think he sounds like he did on AI on TADIKM ngl

I tried again, and it seems that YouTube didn't block the video this time! Regarding the cover change, I realized that I had done it the other way around, and that cover was more for the American Idiot mixes (Saviors Mix), so I changed it. This cover wa...
lol yeah i couldn’t have said it better myself
holy fuck this is the worst take ever
yep lol
Butch Walker's production on Father of All is pretty atrocious yeah
This album is a big mix of sounds but with its own very strong sense of purpose
Goodnight Adeline is 21zt
Strange Days is Kerplunk
American Dream is American Idiot
Corvette Summer is Longshot
The 20s is Insomniac
Etc
Foamf is a good album
you do realise he produced the most influential grunge album of all time right 💀
The mix is just weird
Lmao
Nah thats butch vig
Butch did do 21st, right?
really BUTCHering the names there
I’ve listened to saviors 8 times now
Raditude, Pacific Daydream, and fucking Save Rock and Roll
Vig, yeah
And Vices and Virtues
Still good?
Along with father of all
It gets better each time
I know it's Butch Vig lol
To be fair, pacific daydream is pretty good
ugh save rock and roll is so mid
Butch Vig is the man
ah i can see why people mix them up
And Vices and Virtues
ngl nevermind is my least favorite nirvana album because of the production 😭
i like in utero and bleach more
Those are arguably the worst albums by my favorite bands
Every single one of them
@turbid oriole what’s the worst Weezer album
Walkers production itself wasn’t the problem, it was the way it was mixed and that FOAMF was the lead single
I don't get Bleach tbh, it feels like half assed Sub Pop Rock that was only saved by Kurt's ability to write hooks
PLUS there was the rumors with the panicland Leaks that made it worse
first two tracks are the best, as well as sugar youth. don't care about literally any other song
Butch Walker can’t produce
i like the sludgy influence
He’s a fine songwriter
Raditude
FoA doesn't sound bad actually, there's bangers on there but it just sounds so weird, so commercial
@turbid oriole what’s the worst Green Day album
Sugar youth sounds straight off ai tbh. Junkies on a high is great and Take The Money is a banger
worst weezer album is make believe btw
when beverly hills is the best song on your album you've lost the plot
That I get, don't get me wrong, I LOVE music like that but it just doesn't do it for me on that album despite Nirvana being my favorite band ever
There is nobody on earth who can reasonably argue that Raditude isn’t Weezer’s worst album
Sugar Youth overrated
can't stop partying is 10/10
The album is pretty good and knows when it should end. The mix is just weird thats all. The album (aside from its horrible cover and oh yeah) is not bad at all
Yeah, I just wish it sounded like Green Day
This is such a pity and pardon me want a word with you
yall are no fun
max martin is so goated
i tried to set up a pink joke only to find out he wasn’t the main producer anyway
one eyed bastard is my favorite pink song
Father Of All
absolutely fuming
Haha funny ironic take
Raditude has some good songs. And its better than SPRING SZN
that’s butch vig no?
idk i'm mostly being ironic but i'm also kind of not kidding lol
Raditude is pop trash at least SZNZ has a vision
Oh so Butch can produce a decent album when there are ELEVEN other fucking producers
Can't Stop Partying is such an odd song, no idea what they were thinking with that one
i thought he produced the album that had so what on
they weren't. that's why it's the best
so i was tryna joke about that
Its Tre for me.. sounds sooooo bland
literally just "hey let's put wayne on this track just so he can say weezy n' weezer"
So what was produced by Max Martin
The Trilogy sounds worse than FoA
agreed
cuz it all sounds pretty much the same
so what's a great song
Yeah because Butch Walker didn’t touch it
so i honestly don't mind OEB being almost directly ripped from it lol
facts
didn’t butch walker produce for weezer tho?
Agree to disagree, spring has like 2 maybe 3 really good songs, and wants to be taken seriously. Raditude is not meant to be or be taken seriously at all
Yes, that’s the conversation we are having lol
ah ok
i like foamf alright😭
Butch Walker is a talented guy, he has his sound and bands that work for it
This band isn't one of them
What tells you Raditude is ironic?
i don’t think it’s that bad
Not Tre. It sound bland as hell even if it has great songs… it also had sex drugs and violence and 8th ave serenade tho
i think he did a good job for the sound they were going for
btw i did a really cursed mashup of brain stew/jaded with a bunch of rappers, daughtry, fuel, and paramore lmfao
Don't slander my main man Butch Vig like that!
Billie Joe was giving birth to FOAM out his musical coochie and Butch Walker took that lil infant, swaddled it in a blanket, and tossed it out the fucking window
please never make me picture billie giving birth
BILLIE GIVING BIRTH
transmasc king billie joe
Everything about it… the cover, the lil wayne feature, the songs, the promo… all of it is clearly stating its not meant to be a serious bit rather a fun album
Oh, sorry lost where that Convo went lmao
Hell no
Jar speaks the truth
Thats just like…a vibe you feel.
I can fix him
No explicit texts say irts ironic
erm Jar (Jason Andrew Relva) passed away in the 1990s
sorry bad joke
butch this isn’t you🥺🥺🥺
Definitely not, just look at the chamillionaire csp live performance and youll see
hang on so
Someone here preserved his brain and put his consciousness into a discord bot
butch helped produce so what by pink
and was working with the band when they made OEB
and didn’t think to say anything?😭
imo Dos is equally as bad as FOAMF
he’s just sat in the studio thinking “this song sounds familiar”
fuck time deadass might be their worst song
“Raditude is ironic” and “FOAM was made to get out of warner contract” people are delusional
Same camps of delusion and cope
drama queen is god awful
I don’t think the trilogy albums should be looked at individually
The sound and the melody. I absolutely can’t stand the song, - not only is the Sound of the album weird and bland but i personally find the melody of that song so annoying i ALWAYS skip it. It sounds like some children’s lullaby to me, i can’t explain it i just really dislike the song
oof yeah that one's pretty bad
NOOO my favorite artist cant make something bad..its ironic! On purpose!
Billie Joe has said that the foam title track is one of his favorite songs he's written
probably the worst tre song
rightfully so
it’s such a crowd banger
Theyre too different to be looked at collectively to me
it's a fun live song i just don't like how it was produced
FOAM title track is a banger but Billie can’t sing it live and the production is shit
most of the lyrics are pretty good, but I cant stand the "count your money" lyric.
Yeah I actually love that song it's just great evidence of how that's not some throwaway album
Its a very fun, quick song so i see nothing wring with it. It obly sounds weird because of the vocal filter kn the mix
"count your money" okay billie, let's see here... hmmm... ah yes, 0. zero dollars.
i’m glad to see he isn’t one of those artists that hate an album based on the criticism
Fun and quick doesnt immediately make something immune from criticism
Yeah because it's an experimentation album
I think he was planning to go back do another album with Butch Walker
Look Ma, I Can Count!
pretty sure Butch said on insta they were planning on going to the studio again
i mean
look ma, no cash
I have not heard a single performance of FOAM where Billie hits the falsetto
he's well within his right to be proud of it
but I guess the Cavallo call changed the course
This is true, originally Butch was gonna produce album 14
like i hate FOA but own your work, ya know?
I wish i liked it, but really since i first listened to tre i cant stand it. I cant really put my finger on it. Its also the ONLY green day song i really dislike
he got close on howard stern in 2020
he sounds pretty good there
i gotcha, i didn't think u were
Drop a link bby
it's mostly Jason Freese doing the falsetto
He doesn’t even hit it on the recording lol
just validating mr. armstrong's feelings :3
whats a falsetto
Not live
Howard welcomes Green Day to the SiriusXM Hollywood studios to perform the title track off their upcoming album “Father of All…” live on the Stern Show.

The Game Awards performance of FOAM was incredible
head voice
oh shit yeah they sound good on that one too
like singing above your chest voice
I meant that Freese is giving a lot of assistance live to Billie in that falsetto tone :] in the studio, na
Did i say it does? Criticize it all you want, no problem 😄
https://youtu.be/pAFYPZf7XnM?si=fkuzQfDWwaxni1E1
This is the absolute best version of this song
Green Day
Father Of All...
Father Of All Motherfuckers
The Game Awards 2019
in the simplest terms, going as high as you can
sorry i'm still choirbrained
This is the least I’ve ever seen Billie move
Eyes closed
this one’s really good
Intense focus
but he does sound good
tbf he is in his 50s lol
OH
Hand on hip
hehe :3 so gay uwu
One move and he fucks up the falsetto
Practicing his breathing exercise lol
He sings without a guitar all the time
If i was home at the computer i’d be arguing so hard with you guys
when it's vocally hard, he usually doesn't use a guitar
Just leave
'cause I'm just breathing
This version works well because he drops like 80% of the falsetto
still* :D
This sounds better than the actual song besides the singing.
And doesn’t hit the other 20% lol
they slapped it on their coffee beans all the time lmao
I prefer the song without the falsetto lol
Agree
and billie even put graffitia on his audiobook which was super sweet
which btw is the best version of it
If they had left the falsetto to backup, no Billie
Father of all without the falsetto is awesome
The song works better
i like how it's just a tradition for green day to perform on howard stern's show for every album release cycle
Graffitia is a fucking great song
I can kill FOA live myself with bo falsetto
Fight me
No
FIGHT ME
Grafittia is bland sorry addison
I like the blandness
Graffitia is the best song out of FOA
maybe the only good song
I don't understand how you can hate 39/Smooth but like Graffitia @quiet warren
On an album of dogshit i can see how its nice
I’m offended that they didn’t play it at the fucking goddamn motherfucking stadium show
Are you stupid?
Yes
Are you stupid Dylan?
Yes i said that
Say it again
It again
I rest my case
And grafittia is bland
I bet @turbid oriole sings FOA better than Billie
I know he does
graffitia is amazing what
Graffitia is mid
Haven't heard it I just already know
Unfortunately
I do
Are you stupid?
Can we do a FOAM dumpster fire
Generated by Artificial Intelligence
tonight
no are you stupid
We'll do that for the next one
Yes
I rest my case
yeah this sounds dogshit
well i'm NOT stupid 🔥🔥🔥
100%
I'll admit that I revisit Father Of All more than I'd like to admit
And never truly like it but always find little gems
Foam dumpsterfire this friday or saturday night
John can play graffitia like he’s sitting by a bonfire
sounds like he’s got a cold
that's most of the time tbh
I did Oh Yeah at least once
yeah i got it
It couldve worked with chest voice though (not with a shitty off pitch ai model tho)
but that's not a bad thing bc it's him lol
yeah the ai sounds ill 😭
Has a virus mb
Goodnight Adeline kind of sounds like a Bowling for Soup song to me, if anyone else listens to them, does anyone else agree?
🦀
I hear none of that
absolutely not
Sounds like the longshot to me
i wouldn't want the falsetto taken out of father of all because that'd make it way more straight
⬛️
⬛️

🦵⬛️🦵
Goodnight Adeline is just an American Idiot ballad
goodnight adeline is one of the best on the album
True
agreed
Well to be fair I’m listening to the instrumental right now, and it almost sounds like the song Almost or another one of their songs.
bowling for soup? what no
I keep seeing people say spots on Saviors just sound like The Longshot and that's because The Longshot is just Green Day
that solo fucks btw
bro you ain’t that dumb
surely
It sounds like the song Almost to me.
Yeah but both sound entirely different
i expect better from you
Omg this sounds awful LMAO
like no shit your getting "Longshot vibes" from this album, The Longshot is just trilogy 2
The songwirting in the longshot is different or used to be at least
Yeah
cursed audio
But funny
I just asked him if he's stupid and he said no
you think greenday have a song like fever blister?😭
ask again
lady cobra has the lyric "fever blister" so yes actually
never heard of her
Are you stupid?
What was that other unreleased song with Fever?
no are you stupid
Yes
I rest my case
FUCK
HA
He got me again
damn juvenile delinquents
are you thinking of damn juvenile delinquents
Maybe
I'm so sad DJD wasn't release
eh
I'm so sad that Fever is getting released
i’m hyped for fever
real
the fever snippet does not sound good
DJD better
idk what people see in it
"I got a feever tonight"
both fever and DJD sound mid as hell
tf is DJD
on the Japanese Exclusive
dance javin dance?
damn juvenile delinquents
o
oh well yeah i thought we meant worldwide lol
Fever and TJD sound like Green Day trying to continue pursuing the Father Of All sound
This song leaked on internet as a leftover of Green Day's 'Father of All Motherf***s' album, released in 2020.
god i fucking hate howard stern
yeah but people are getting excited over the snippet
and i think it sounds mid based entirely on that
someone punch that wrinkly ballsack ffs
Yeah
if the chorus isn't good then how can the rest of the song be good
oh yeah it's nothing to get excited about lol
HE SAID NIGHTLIFE!!! HE SAID THE THING!!!
but like it might be alright
These songs sound like shit
ok yeah that DJD snippet sounds very father of all
This song leaked on internet as a leftover of Green Day's 'Father of All Motherf***s' album, released in 2020.
like this sounds like shit

this sounds like a jonas brothers song lmao
I got a Fever tonight!
sounds like disney xd interstitial music
I really like the Fever clip
exactly
and why does it sound like there's some other dude talking in the fever clip
I'm just holding out hope that the Fever bonus track is a totally different Fever
it’s the leakers watermark
exactly this
Me too lol
ngl i appreciate that they aren't completely abandoning the father of all sound, i just want them to work towards making it actually sound worthy of release
oh is it actually
I also like the DJD snippet a lot lol
yeah it’s pissing me off that i can’t find any without it
Green Day "1972" (yes it's Saviors but it's just a cool name)
1.Fever
2.Here Comes The Shock
3.One Eyed Bastard (Demo)
4.Damn Juvenile Delinquents
5.Art Of A Deal With The Devil
6.Pollyanna
7.Holy Toledo
This would've been ASS
holy shit we're already legitimately at 1972 in one album-posting
Oh totally, thank God they were just cymbals
1972 as an album
all of these would have been contenders for the worst song on saviors lmao
HOLY SHIT GREEN DAY IS USING YOUR ALBUM COVER!!!
except for maybe holy toledo
you leave holy toledo alone :<
that song is great
before dilemma i liked holy toledo more than any of the new singles
When I say "1972", I know that's just a project title for Saviors, it's just a cool subtitle lmfao
I SAID EXCEPT HOLY TOLEDO AFTER THAT MESSAGE IJGFOKDPKDGJKDPERL
WHERE
I like Holy Toledo but Fever is meh and Here Comes the Shock is so bad it would've single handledly tanked the album LMAO
HERE @static flint
ALL I CAN SEE IS OPENHEIMER
if this is the album they released I'd have to boycott the band
This would have sucked so much
I think djd sounds cool idc
I might've blown my brains out if I had to defend this shit ass fucking album
THANK YOU
Same lol
Hanging in the garage
UR WELCOME
YO THIS IS FIRE 🔥🗣️ PUT IT ON MUTE
tf is the art song
Well it finally leaked. Been listening all day. I love it so much
I really disliked holy toledo (and its cover) and here comes the shock though, so blnd
i ain’t ever heard of that
I don't think I can make it in a world where I as a Green Day have to say "yes i listened to this fucking album and it was mmmm yummy yummy" fucking shitty ass album from a bunch of washed up grandpas
It might've been their worst album ever
here comes the shock is tragic
it'd be so over
art of the deal with the devil is a network song
on money money 2020 part 2
the cover is awesome what?
ohhh ty
holy toledo has one of their best logos that they didn’t use enough
pollyanna is ok but would be the worst song on saviors
as a green day, i think this album is certainly one of them
I'm getting depressed just looking at this shit
Oh i think i confusedit with pollyanna - that was the hot dog one?
The worst Green Day song dude it is so fucking BAD
this is what we could've gotten
it's up there
or down there ig
which is ironic cuz it would have fit on the saviors cover considering it looks like a british newspaper logo
"british newspaper logo" 😭
I'm fucking quaking rn
Y'ALL IT'S OK
IT DIDN'T HAPPEN
nobody hmu
i don't even want to listen to Saviors anymore
this shit got me in a bad mood
gonna get night terrors over that "1972" EP
it is Not that.
i hate this fucking band all of a sudden
i listened to it today and can confirm it's shit, basically here comes the shark x15
why'd you have to insert this into my life
i was fine without it
here comes the shark 😭
Yeah i mixed it up with pollyanna, holy toledo was cool, Pollyanna was the one i disliked
now im picturing a goofy animated music video of "here comes the shark" with a cartoony ass shark swimming after a silly ocean swimmer
how i would sleep if this existed
yeah i'd actually like it more if it was that honestly
I've sent everyone into a crisis lmao
same
i'm starring this message just bc of how fucking awful this album would've been
how could you do this
yeah i get it i was just laughing at how accurate it was
