#Saviors Discussion

i disagree
yeah everyone likes things differently
mhmm
like personally I love Nightlife
It's way better than those two imo
Take the Money and Crawl is a banger my man, while OEB is boring as fuck
Is this a Barbie reference I see
1981 is pretty good, OEB is a bit meh.
OEB has the potential to be really good
Okay so I’m in love with Dilemma. Video is so great, it’s so raw and honest. I got chills watching it. CHILLS 🥶
Father to Son next single, I'm sure of it
I hope that they manage to make OEB sound meaner and thicker. The leak sounds way too similar to FOAM. Add some distorsion and screams and you've got a winner.
my ranking of the songs are:
- Dilemma
- Look Ma
- American Dream
American Dream is good, but there are a few weird lyrics that don't work well
Look Ma is just a fun Ramones song
but Dilemma feels like a very personal and meaningful song
Same, I don't really know how to feel about American Dream. It's not bad but quite slow and lacks something. It's like a stripped down 21stCB 5min song
Dilemma is so good
sits right next to another dilemma i listened to
the chorus reminds me of weezer - hero which i love
Well it will because the demo of OEB was from before they started recording for saviors
Dilemma is very good but There's just something about LMNB that makes me wana come back and listen to it on repeat. Idk, maybe I love the chorus or the raw speed energy.
Yeah it's just like a constant stream of energy
Which one is it supposed to be? I saw someone on the subreddit saying they think they found Coma City in the teasers
im worried they didnt rework it and its the exact same
for some reason i instantly thought of coma city when hearing this
but yeah there's no way of knowing until it's released
just sounds like it would fit
the leak was produced by Butch Walker, and he’s not credited for anything on the album. At the very least the production is different
That's good, thanks
Where is the oeb leak available?
What Jar said
Listening to it now. the opening riff reminds me of another non green day song but cant figure out what.
ty
Outside of the riff being so close to that song i really like it. Saviors so far is up with 21cb on favorite post american idiot albums. Waiting on more songs to see what wins out.
I still think OEB sounds better than anything on father of all. Everyone saying it sounds like father of all production.. I’m just not hearing it. Billie’s voice doesn’t have that terrible effect on it. There is a piano in the opening. It doesn’t sound like father of all songs at all to me. I do hope they reworked it a little, but to me, it was a really good song.
It’s not father of all production because it was recorded after that album and the version that’s out there is not what is on the album
Fr
It’s more reminiscent of father of all in production so it’ll likely change to fit saviors
I wonder what they changed.
I know songs structure remains the same, maybe they did it Covallo's style
Yeah same length means same song basically. Like I said earlier, all I hope for is more distorsion, louder drum and more "screaming". It's an angry song, let the production reflect that.
Maybe add some cool little bass riffs here and there
Definitely need to change the drums.. yeah
Sold Out?
Me neither
i don't think it's out yet
looking online it says you can pre-order the magazine
and it won't ship until january
i can't find any rips of the article online
I’m gonna look for the mag on Tuesday and I’ll scan it if I find it
Nevermind
I thought it was out wtf
Crazy right? I bet the japanese one is gone
7350 units, not too crazy
I meann they keep making more “limited editions” tbh

Billie Joe said they’re going to be playing more songs off Dookie and AI in the setlist
So no changes then?
He probably meant more deeper cuts from those albums, which is exciting
oh that'd be great
#greenday-chat message
this post has my setlist predictions based on comparing historical setlists (I took the average setlist from 2021-2023). I now think the setlist will be a few songs longer. Curious what the predictions on deep cuts are. Outside of she im not sure what.
can't wait to see them play Sassafras Roots live
I feel like thats too much of a deep cut.
Here's my prediction of what we might see on this tour:
1.) American Idiot
2.) Jesus of Suburbia
3.) Holiday
4.) Boulevard of Broken Dreams
5.) The American Dream is Killing Me
6.) Look Ma, No Brains!
7.) Letterbomb
8.) Welcome To Paradise
9.) Longview
10.) Chump
11.) Burnout
12.) When I Come Around
13.) Hitchin a Ride
14.) Minority
15.) Are We The Waiting
16.) St. Jimmy
17.) Knowledge
18.) Basket Case
19.) She
20.) Dilemma
21.) Wake Me Up When September Ends
22.) Homecoming
23.) Whatsername
ENCORE:
24.) 21 Guns (Acoustic)
25.) Good Riddance (Time of Your Life)
Does green day normally do an encore?
Yeah
This would be cool
For the most part
Hopefully they cut king for a day to have room for more songs
When I looked there was none for hella mega but that was a weird tour.
https://youtu.be/oTN0v3FlDKA?feature=shared they played all of dookie in 41 minutes recently. That does make the theory of them playing that and all of AI seem more likely. I dont think that will be the case but it would be awesome
Green Day Playing Dookie Live In Full Fremont Country Club Bar Las Vegas 10/19/23 Before When We Were Young.
- "Burnout"
- "Having a Blast"
- "Chump"
- "Longview"

- "She"

- "When I Come Around"
- "Coming Clean"
- "Emenius Sleepus"
- "In the End"
- ...
Would be very happy with this
this doesnt have brain stew and im pretty sure they wouldnt skip brain stew
I was considering doing Brain Stew instead of AWTW
but the fact that they skipped Brain Stew for the entire RevRad tour made me forget about it
ohh
i hope its finally time to retire know your enemy
i hope they got at least 1 pre dookie song
im guessing knowledge
BESIDES knowledge
this was the setlist when i saw them in 2017 and it was pretty good
would love 2000 light years away
when i saw them in 2010 they brought a whole crowd of people on stage from the seats to dance on stage during 2000 light years away
Im not sure on if they will do an encore. they havent in years but did for years.
i mean they technically did during hella mega but the encore was just good riddance
It didnt show on the setlist website i looked on.
I guess just the couple shows I found listed good riddance as an encore
seems like european side had encores
Chump after Longview? Isn't it supposed to transition into Longview?
LOL ur 100% right I fucked it up
no insomniac
i want this tour to have a setlist that while focused on dookie, AI and saviors have the song from every other albums
no way that gonna happened
Challenge accepted

Woah I’d love JOS second that’d be wild
I REALLY want Novocaine/She’s a Rebel but it probs wont make the cut
Dilemma over Novocaine anyway
This is wild, I doubt they’ll throw in any trilogy songs but that would be incredible
Even if it was one song and they rolled a dice for it or something every night so all concerts got a unique live song
That sounds like every song on Saviors
I made another one

This time, I made sure to have a nice balance between every album, with an average of 2 per album except 4 for
and
My main takeaway about this new album so far based on the singles I've heard is that Green Day is just going back to making good music this time around and I love it.
No gimmicks or sound changes, no big ambitions, none of that "rock is dead" attitude that made the last album so unbearable; Saviors sounds like the band going back to basics and simply focusing on making good music this time around.
I'd also argue that this is probably the most normal album they'll put out since Warning. It's not a rock opera, part of a trilogy, nor is it an album trying out a new sound. It really does sound like Green Day just being themselves again for the first time in so long
Like part of me feels like this album will be a spiritual successor to that four-album streak that made me love this band so much in the first place, from Dookie to Warning; just a collection of songs that explore different thoughts and experiences in the band members' lives (and also bits of angst in there too lol)
But at the same time it really does feel like it's gonna be a 30th anniversary album in the sense that it sounds like it'll be a hybrid of the many eras the band's had thus far, from the fast tempos and angst of their 90s stuff to the rock opera sounds of AI and 21CB (also hearing rumors that songs like OEB will continue that FOAMF garage rock sound and even if it doesnt I won't be surprised if some of the songs on this album sound like FOAMF leftovers too but refined)
Also I feel like the production and mixing on these singles don't get that much talk which is crazy because these are some of the roughest sounding mainstream rock band singles I've heard in so long and I love it. I love the new Blink182 and Foo Fighters albums but imo I had problems with how their mixing sounded too clean and polished. So glad this new Green Day album isnt being a part of that trend. It sounds like the most raw album they've put out post-AI that the fact that this is a 2024 rock album and not 2005 is insane
TL;DR - I see this album being to Green Day what Death Magnetic was to Metallica---just a fun and simple back to basics album that fans like me will definitely enjoy well enough that we can forgive both bands for the monstrosities they put out right before this one
Until the next Green Day album sounds like AJR AND WE START FROM SCRATCH ALL OVER AGAIN AHHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
Green Day album 15 will be experiemental mumble rap/Black metal mash
this is more of a "eras tour" setlist but green day edition
imagine billie said the name of the number songs one after another
but that was more of a concept album to me if anything and also it had Forever Now lol
I feel like Saviors might be one too very loosely
But yeah somewhere now and forever now gave it that vibe
https://youtu.be/HUwwxzCVj-U?si=WqhEQ3tn93mnMdLk new interview?

It seems like they kinda know how poorly received foamf was
Like they say in the interview that they put out TADIKM first to show people “we’re back”
Theres a video of them play all of American Idiot in an hour and 3 min. (with some short interview bits) Theres a few of them playing through dookie in 40 minutes. (some of the dookie ones are within the past year)
If they do a 2 or 2 and a half hour set they could fit in all of both albums, I still dont think this is a likely setlist but it would be awesome. Guessing that setlist would have 1-3 from saviors, good riddance and 1-3 other songs.
Its a 4 hour concert from what i can tell.
I doubt it but that would be awesome
I dont think it will happen but i saw one post about it on here and have now been thinking about it all day
It would be but also would be kinda boring a little ways into American idiot
I'll be honest I do not want that
Because it would probably mean the whole set is just those two albums
Plus a few saviors songs
I mean, it would be cool, I'd just rather hear a few songs from other albums too
Do you think maybe it’s because the interviewers are typically not like huge Green Day fans other than knowing the hits
That’s the vibe I’ve kinda gotten
Like the interviewers probably don’t really know what specific questions to ask
one called good riddance "time of your life" that one was particualy awkward
What's an "eras tour"?
That was a great interview
bro r u serious
Taylor Swift
This interview got me even more excited for the album
They are so confident with this one
I don't remember seeing this many interviews for Father of All, and when there were they would talk about Hella Mega and barely mention the album
interesting so ADIKM was written when they were writing FOAM
5 or 4 years ago Billie said
when the interviewer asked about 1972, I was wishing for a question about C&V for new info, as I am such a nerd
yeah. Maybe the album had a concept of some sort at first
that turned into something else apparently
That's exciting
I love 1981 so
I hope Coma City lives up to it
I really think this album will be something special, man
I really think Rob gets the best of the band
I'm so glad he's working with them again
Yeah
I'm sure Rob Cavallo would not have let Teenage Teenager on the album LOL
I think Butch Walker was just a terrible fit for the band
I get that Billie wanted something different
But Walker wasn't the best choice
Also, I love that you can tell that it was a fan who interviewed them
On the new interview
It's a great read
I could never be an interviewer because I have too many small questions
Not even just for Green Day I mean in general
I’d ask Billie where his little noises went since he doesn’t do them on the album as much
That's true
I think that stopped in Warning, right?
He still does them sometimes but I think they stopped being prevalent on Warning
I’m trying to remember
Idk if that counts imma be real
I think it surprisingly added a lot to the songs
Made it feel closer to live
Green Day The Eras Tour confirmed???
Ok but like if there's one rock band that could definitely pull off their own Eras tour, it's Green Day. All their past album eras feel so distinct from each other that I'd love it if they'd have a tour that just combines everything (yes including their super old 90s stuff)
I wonder id they have off-limit questions for the interview. Like if the interviewer asks "Will you release songs from Cigarettes and Valentines for American Idiot anniversary ?" They go "Nope, cut that one. Not answering."
Or Tré would just answer with a joke as a fuck you
Who said that? And why have he/she heard the album already
I hope coma city sounds like Look ma no brains!!
👍
Seeeee I knew there’s more to the title track
IVE BEEN SAYING THIS SINCE DAY ONE OF THIS ROLLOUT😤
Guys, I swear I read ain interview (not the Italian one) that went into a bit of detail as to what songs will be about rather than how they'll sound where I read that Bobby Sox is about a date in a graveyard? I can't seem to find it nor remember where I read it
No
It's just like ya know
Some people here want to go into the record without spoilers
Holy shit they did not rest once during 2020
The network album, no fun mondays, and they were writing this album
Billies workin non stop lol
YOOOOOO
OMGGGGG
years of hard work have paid off
Tre submit drums for 409 pls
I saw a nightmare where Billie said in an interview that the AI demos and outtakes would be released for it's 30th anniversary
How is that a nightmare
Probably because it’s 10 years from now
Nah if they want to get this out it's now or never. They don't have 10 more years on the spotlight.
Fuck it, 30 year anniversary album today
Falling out of the spotlight is the perfect time to do an anniversary edition
You don't fall back on the old shit when you're still popular
welcome to my nightmares
Because I have been waiting for so long
And that would be another 10 years of C&V discussions that lead nowhere
But I can wait tho
If they empty the warning bowels
A weird way of describing it
And I didn't realize I just did a waiting reference
That's why they do it at anniveraries like 25-30 years
40
Hence nimrod, insomniac and dookie all getting them
I hope they don't
Save it for a bigger anniverary, all these special releases are getting too close together
Makes it not special anymore
Crazy they skipped 25 for Dookie
Dookie and AI are the albums I'd expect 25th, 40th anniversaries and beyond to all get special editions
I see where you are coming from but it would be weird to promote AI's 20th for the tour and not release anything related to it.
Man I just want a studio version of C&V let me hope 🥲
They should release dookie on a really obscure form of media
For the next anniversary
Dookie 40th anniversary phonograph cylinder
You read my mind
Apple Music has constantly been listing dookie 30 as coming out in 2019 so I wouldn’t be surprised if they initially wanted to do a 25th and it got pushed back for whatever reason
But we’re definitely not getting anything for American idiot 20, maybe some merch, but the rerelease will probably be 25 or 30 (just to match with dookie maybe)
Fr
Also iirc it was labeled as 2019 on Spotify for the first bit but later was corrected
TIL !
well tbf they didn’t start doing anniversary editions until the old albums were 25
that’s when they started dipping their toes in the capitalist anniversary edition pool
Can’t wait for Saviors 0th anniversary edition next month
i think AI 20 will happen because otherwise Dookie 30 would have been in 2024 for the actual anniveresry. I get dookie 30 not being q1 or maybe even q2 because of saviors but q3 or q4 wouldnt affect it. Im predicting AI 20 in q3 or 4.
Anniversary album overload
They pushed dookie 30 early bc of saviors im pretty sure
Dawg they did it in 2023 because they have a whole new album in 2024 not because they’re doing anniversary stuff in 2024
They probably didn’t do it in Q3 or Q4 because that would also coincide with the tour
If they got an album Q1 with promotion for their album and upcoming tour in Q2 and their tour Q2-Q4 I doubt they woudl wanna release any anniversaries through that time
I've been waiting a long time
For this moment to come
This sounds so so good. I just posted this on the subreddit…

Dookie 80th anniversary: Green Day comes and haunts your house
Still a month to go , arghghhhhhhh can't wait
Y'all are killjoys, we will get Cigarettes & Valentines next year end of discussion.
I just wana hear Fancy sauce and Suzie chapstick.
I'll skip the rest
Confusing
Green Day was never good actually
Woo! I'm back, baby (I'm @pallid gulch lol)
Been gone a while, so I have a bit to say. The songs so far have been absolutely incredible, what a bang up job Green Day and crew have done on this album. It's such a relief to hear Green Day doing what they do best under some good production. They haven't made a good ass plain Green Day album with Rob in a hot minute. These songs feel like an evolution for the band that doesn't feel alien to them. Is it their best songs ever? No but Look Ma, No Brains still slaps, so sue me haha
Ratings for each song so far (including leaks and live material)
TADIKM (7/10)
LMNB (10/10)
Dilemma (10/10)
One Eyed Bastard (6/10)
1981 (5/10, more positive than negative)
Fair assessment although I don’t think we can rate OEB fairly considering all we have was the demo
And 1981 too probably because we’ve only heard it live but we can make a closer guess on that one
That's true, I think I'll like the proper recordings better but that's where they stand as of now
Dilemma was so good, I don't know if I like that or Look Ma better
I love the verses before the chorus in OEB
Especially the "I never asked to hear your goddamned feelings" part
Oh yeah, that is the highlight of the song
It's weird they kept it because it and American Dream are so similar
i mean they were likely written in the same era so yeah theyre a little similar but overall theyre pretty different
I think you can see that Look Ma No Brains and 1981 were written around the same time as some of MM2020 pt.2
Songs like Carolina's Ultimaten Netflix Tweet, Theory Of Reality and Ivankkka Is A Nazi
I'm interested if they have a foam like song on saviors and if they do, then how will they do it, since this album is heavier and more ambitious
Maybe a song closer to take the money and crawl or stab you in the heart?
Since those could bridge the difference in musical style between saviors and foam
Yeah
Didn't they call saviors Foam's child lol? MM2020 pt. 2 is like Foam's older brother who fucked MM2020
Yeah true
Warning gave birth to jesus of suburbia
And he found the boring old Warning lame and went on an adventure
Then jesus came back and became close with Warning and 21st CB was born
Someone needs to make an anime from this
Just credit me for this part
It's the AI movie, but not what people wanted
Then middle age crisis hit em. Warning became Tre, Jesus became DOS and 21st CB became UNO if that makes any sense
The characters hitting middle age at once makes no sense, but that is the script writer's problem
Guys sorry for this cancer
What is blud waffling about
No clue
send it to a publisher
The ratings of OEB And 1981 are very silly songs have not even come out yet
Yeah, I know it's not exactly fair to assess them in the state they're but I just wanted to include them
Rating will change with the proper releases
i think one eyed bastard is gonna be pretty good
already sounds pretty heavy and we know it'll sound different on saviors
at least a little bit
The best part is the second verse into the pre-chorus, wonder how they're gonna do that on the album proper
I don't see there being a massive difference, if there is one, it would just be re-recorded and produced proper, still using the same blueprint as the demo
OEB is my least favorite out of everything we’ve heard
It sounds like so what by pink
So what?
you probably secretly love that song
why would i secretly love something that i explicitly said i dont love
i still don't really like any of them... but i'm okay with that.
Because it wouldn’t be a secret if you said you love it
is that a good or bad thing?
Debatable
Personally I really don’t like 1981
Way too much repetition
Not the good kind
The verse is often stuck in my head
SHE'S GONNA BANG HER HEAD LIKE 1981
The verse and bridge are sick, I hope the chorus slaps in the studio version.
Can't wait to hear OEB saviors version
I hope it's agressive as fuck
bros topping the NYT list
1981 is my least favorite by far
but OEB is a close second
No you today
I'm not an expert on judging music by live performances but I gotta say 1981 is quite average and nothing extraordinary.
Just your typical Green Day touche
Also it's funny how we've already heard 5 songs out of 7 from side A of the album.
I hope they release a single from Side B as well
High chances being Father to a son
Talking bout the cassette?
This
In my opinion, Dilemma just isn’t that great
Yeah, seems like a rip off version of Still breathing
Although the guitar riff is good
It just doesn’t hit for me, and the lyrics just don’t strike a chord with me
I’ll give them that
It sounds good
But the lyrics just aren’t there in my eyes
I guess people likes it for the lyrics.. and I am not the "lyric" guy
I just don’t like it in general tbh
It doesn’t feel like a Green Day song if that makes sense
Pretty much sums it up
Now I am worried
Why?
I am worried there could be more worst songs on the album
I’m sure it’ll be fine
But
Nothings gona stop me from liking Fancy sauce
I have this weird feeling that it'll be my favourite song on the album next to LMNB
Suzie chapstick and booby sox next
”not the lyric guy”
deciding favorite songs in advance just from the title
LMNB is a ripoff of Brat then
But they sound nothing alike though
Dilemma sounds practically nothing like still breathing
Similar lyrical themes
That’s what I was going off of
I do think LMNB and Brat (along with most insomniac songs) have a lot of musical similarities but that’s not a bad thing anyhow
Still breathing follows every pop song convention in the book, much cleaner, pretty vague lyrically, totally different melody and chord progression
Fuckin heavy ass drop D guitar
Completely different songs aside from Dilemma being the dark depressing version of what Still Breathing is about
Dilemma is closer musically to Whatsername than Still Breathing. Honestly I can’t even think of another song to compare it to
That grungey drop D guitar is such a departure
And just the fact it has more drive than they typically use
Anyone else find it odd the line “strange days are here again” was on dilemma when there is a song titled Strange Days Are Here To Stay
Yeah I'm not sure how people are saying it sounds like Still Breathing ngl
I don't hear it
Also from all of the interviews it seems like coma city is gonna be one of the huge highlights of the album
Probably gonna be a bit of lyrical continuity on the album
They kinda implied that in that interview
I figured given that every song so far has some lyric in reference to death
Alt press interview I mean
So some thematic continuity and then some lyrics that tie them together
I think that type of songwriting really suits Green Day
How can hot topic design better cover art than the band themselves 💀
The covers not great but if it looked like that shirt I definitely wouldn’t have ordered the vinyl
Love albums with consistent themes fr
Damn, that shirt shipped really fast too. Says it'll come in on Saturday
I wouldnt say it if you did say you loved it, you just dont get how things work
so its a rip off because it has similar themes, that seems like a huge over statement
Heyo if anyone wants a translation of the Visions DE interview with the guys hmu
One thing I can pull out is that Billie said “if we play Dookie for its entirety every evening, the set will be over in 30 minutes. We have to create variety somehow”
Sooooo
👀
here's the link: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1Uk5ir9cU9lCaNwDP1_PRPM54v7TwDENf7CgXbr3VY7Y/edit?usp=sharing
I know there was a first half of that interview but I couldn't find it on the IG post, I'll look for this magazine but I dunno if I'll find it in Austria
Lol Mike reposted furry art of the whole band, these sure are strange days
Dookie is almost 40 minutes long
It’s what Billie said in the interview 🤷🏻♀️
They do play faster live
Oh yeah that's true
whats the takeaway from this.... cant tell which way it leans
Can’t tell if he’s saying “that would be dumb so we’re not doing it” or if he’s saying “it’ll be like the secret show with more stuff after dookie”
I hope it’s not the entirety of dookie that’s a bit boring for me
Ik I'm a bit late but... Opinions on Dilemma?
Good
I’m torn between it and Look Ma
after having listened to it a shit ton i can comfortably say it's the best single from saviors so far
i've listened to all three songs a lot but i think dilemma is my favorite
TADIKM is definitely the weakest
But I can understand why it was the first
It’s safe, classic Green Day
Based off the interviews, I think coma city is the bands favorite song
Dilemma just passed 1M on YT.
99 Revolutions vibes
I WAS SOBER NOW I'M DRUNK AGAIN
Its an amazing song, it really is! Already know all 3 on guitar
These songs show that this is what Green Day should've been doing all along
Making good ass GD songs with Rob and CLA
link to interview
Dont have it
Its in a magazine, GreenDayInc posted a pic of a page
Look ma- fav single
Dilemma- Best guitar riff
American Dream- nice sing along chorus. Good for live.
Man it breaks my heart to read about Billie's struggles with alcohol
It do be like that… it’s impossible for him to be fully sober in the industry and setting he is in unfortunately. I’m glad to hear he’s getting better at managing it
Not too surprising, as we're only a month out now. And by then, it'll just be a couple weeks
i would imagine they're all saviors songs
i doubt they're pulling out rarities for new years rockin eve
Any bets? I'm calling 1981 and Father to a son
I wonder if the album will have leaked by then
Would be disappointing if we heard half of it before it's out
I prefer to just have everything leaked
Westbound sign obviously
Imagine if they play something like Junkies on a High or Like a Rat does Cheese🤣🤣
I know, I was just kidding
Their wording doesn’t specify songs they’ve never played live
Just songs they’ve never played
What about 'You Irritate Me'
Which maybe means they’re all from the new album
Because songs they’ve never played is implies that it means no songs from previous albums since those hav been played
That’s what I’m saying in response to the people who were saying songs from other albums
For example: Outlaws or HaHa Your Dead (Idak with that one lol)
I would LOVE to hear deep duts from Warning played live!
I feel like we're getting our hopes up with the deep cuts
Nah man we’re totally getting the live debut of Jinx on New Year’s Rockin Eve /s
If they’re not doing a bunch of new Saviors songs I will be incredibly surprised
And I hope that’s what they’re doing
i'm just spitballing but i feel like it might be dilemma, coma city, goodnight adeline, father to a son and title track or something along those lines
According to an article I read they are playing Dilemma, Holiday, Welcome To Paradise and Basket Case. And by playing I mean they likely already recorded it at some soundstage in Hollywood with a bunch of people in the crowd pretending it’s New Year’s when it’s actually 3pm in mid November.
First time ever must mean the first time they’re playing new years rockin eve then
No they played it a couple years ago, I think the 5 songs is the first time a band has done that maybe? The article only mentioned four songs though. It’s also first time ever playing Dilemma live so it could just be poorly worded
Seems like a lot of conflicting information
I could buy a poorly worded article if it wasn’t for the “not one, not two, but five” bit
Since that really doubles down on the idea that it’s new stuff
Guess there’s only one way to find out
yeah i was totally thinking they would be playing stuff from saviors
and it would make sense
We just gotta wait
Sounds to me like just Dilemma and a couple songs from Dookie and a couple from AI spread over 3 sets that will be aired at different points in the broadcast
Oh that’s weird that it was initially phrased that way
Weird that they woudl do a few songs from dookie and American idiot but then just a single from their upcoming album
Like kinda weird that one of the three performances is a single song
Maybe they’ll surprise us with more but my expectations are way lower now
Not really that weird, they aren’t being booked for things like this to play songs the audience won’t know or care about.
It's exactly what I would've expected if the wording on the announcement wasn't confusing as hell
This is very subjective. They could mean they're playing Dilemma live for the first time or Playing older songs live for the first time.
You could say it's open to interpretation but actually it's just shitty wording and confusing
They learnt from iHeartRadio in 2012
One of them better be No One Knows
I think that will happen when hell freezes over
Maybe they'll get Lady Cobra as a guest and play Nightlife
Who knows maybe they'll debut Coma City ft. Lady Cobra
honestly id be all for it
lol no way they do that
Imagine if they decide to just play all of Kerplunk at some point in the tour
Imagine if they decide to just play all of Dos at some point in the tour
imagine they just decide to play Westbound Sign at some point during the tour!
imagine they just decide to play All by myself at some point during the tour!
My Saviors shirt came in!!
can't wait for them to finish the tour with uno, dos, tre in one set
and all of saviors as the encore
That would be sick
Given how much they seem to have recorded their time in the studio we might get something like it
After 21CBD, Green Day has gotten into this cycle
Going back and forth from a really good Pop Punk album to a strange experiment
I wonder what album 15 will turn out to be /j
Just got back from 2028, album 15 turns out to be some weird psychedelic shit similar to Rest (track 9 on
)
Somehow it's actually quite good
That actually doesn't sound bad
Green Day Drill album
Basket Case (track 7 on dookie)
Uptight (track 9 on nimrod.)
Anyway we also made a quick stop in 2032 to refuel the TARDIS, and turns out album 16 is gonna make Green Day the biggest band in the world for a third time
unfortunately, because Billie's already 60 years old by then it's another 6 years after that before album 17 comes out, but the band keeps busy with touring and festivals during that time
it's really worth it though, album 18 is even better than album 17
||of course I'm making all this shit up, but it's a really nice scenario to imagine||
Thanks for the precision lmfao
HES 60?!
He's turning 52 in 2024, he'll be 60 in 2032
Yeah it’s pretty close to middle age
One Eyed Bastard would be really awesome live
One month!
Holy toledo
How has this happened so fast
We've been waiting for what feels like half a decade an now in 31 days it's here
^^^
It's nice that they announced the album less than 3 month from release. With 3 singles in between, it goes by quite fast and builds up hype. (Looking at you Sum 41)
I'm so excited for it, I don't think I've ever been this hyped about a new album before
GUYS I JUST REALIZED SOMETHING

IT SOUNDS JUST LIKE LOOK MA
I guess
It’s just going from the 4 to the 1
Which they do a decent amount
It’s exactly what they do on TADIKM
Maria is better
https://twitter.com/RockinEve/status/1732782014074605660 How are they doing all 5 as never played songs and anniversary stuff?
For AI they could do C and V but they have played all of dookie
this fanbase gives me migraines daily
np
💀
I would bet my entire life savings that it’s literally just
Dilemma
Holiday
Boulevard
When I Come Around
Basket Case
and the whole “first time ever” bullshit is just the first time a band has played this many songs on Rockin Eve
that’s exactly what I thought when i read it
it’s not that complicated
Also
why would they play random b sides from American idiot that they’ve never played before for a NYE audience
same energy as “I hope they play westbound sign on tour!”
If I were them I'd just completely eliminate the big hits from the setlist for this tour and bring out all the new songs and deep cuts.
Basket Case? We got Castaway.
When I Come Around? We got At the Library.
Holiday? We got Deadbeat Holiday.
Boulevard of Broken Dreams? We got Who Wrote Holden Caulfield.
Longview? We got Dilemma.
Wake Me Up When September Ends? We got the Grouch.
Welcome to Paradise? We got Look Ma No Brains.
Jesus of Suburbia? We got Disappearing Boy.
Know Your Enemy? We got Emenius Sleepus.
21 Guns? We got Private Ale.
King for a Day? We got Fancy Sauce.
Nice Guys Finish Last? We got Goodnight Adeline.
American Idiot? Fuck that, we got Whatsername!
I'd still keep Good Riddance as the last song of course, but everything else would be deep cuts from the 90s or new songs from Saviors.
Deep cut-only setlist for a stadium tour
How many days before release did Green Day last few albums leaked ?
I wonder if we can expect something before new year
Very punk
Revrad was like a week before or something, but just FYI we don’t post leaks, ask for leaks or offer to share leaks here
Sure, juste discussing 👍

The ultimate deep cut list
you give me migraines so stop it with the skull
Are all of those confirmed titles of songs
Yes, I collected those over the last year. They range from unused titles to never released songs
Yeah the fantasy setlist stuff is better suited for #greenday-chat than here
I realized that after I wrote it hmmm
Sorry, I'll keep that in mind
Alright gonna transfer them over then
With both FOAM and MM2020 pt 2 I think a week before or little less before
I probably would, but only because I wanna know what songs I would immediately add to my playlist lol
If it were poorly recorded definitely not though
I hope this album is actually a success
Father Of All nosedived these guys, straight into the ground and had only further cemented them in the public eye as a burnout band. Hopefully Saviors does justice for them and they actually get some recognition for it
I feel like it will at the very least give people hope again. Whether its financially successful or not, I'm sure it will be received significantly better than FOA
Ill probably listen to oeb because im curious if the riff was changed and leave the rest for release day.
Idk why ppl insist on them changing the riff lol
I really doubt they'll do that just cuz it kinda sounds like another song lol
I'm expecting the production to be much improved at the very least
They changed Hold On though
Exactly lol
My deep cut list I would die to see live
- Do da da
- Misery
- Lazy bones
- Desensitized
- I was there
- Jackass
- One of my lies
- Westbound sign
- Haushinka

- Rusty James
Encore
28. See the light
29. Macys day parade
if it was done around foamf butch walker may have worked on it. He appears in the music video for so what and has written for pink in the past.
i feel like saviors discussion became saviors and saviors tour discusion at some point
macys day parade doesnt seem likely as a closer on the dookie and american idiot stadium tour? I dont mind actual setlist predictions tbf but these are just lists of deepcuts. Actual predictions could lead to interesting discusions
i would love if they closed with whatsername
As far as shallow cuts (not quite a deep one) i hope she makes the setlist.
I been saying this
I can hold off a week if there’s a leak but if it leaks on Christmas or something idk if I can do that
imagine if this was the setlist:
American Idiot
Holiday
Know Your Enemy
Boulevard of Broken Dreams
Longview
Welcome to Paradise
Hitchin' a Ride
Rock and Roll All Nite (KISS cover)
Brain Stew
St. Jimmy
When I Come Around
21 Guns
Minority
Knowledge (Operation Ivy cover)
Basket Case
King for a Day / Shout
Wake Me Up When September Ends
Jesus of Suburbia
Good Riddance (Time of Your Life)
that would be a shocker wouldnt it
Stop sending your setlists
this was clearly a joke
I understand legitimate setlist predictions for the Saviors Tour but yall mfs just sending the most outrageous shit
Do you guys think we'll get a new single the first week of january or when the album releases ?
What does this have to do with saviors discussion?? There's another channel for that
Yes we will. Infact the whole album will be leaked
You will be leaked
I think maybe 1981 just because we’ve already heard it many times live
Do you promise
I prommy
or replace when I come around with american idiot lol
I know someone's Dookie vinyls got delivered a few days early from the release
so hopefully I get my saviors vinyl early
wheres Still Breathing and Pollyana lol
then it'd be literally just the Hella Mega Tour setlist
My prediction is that they'll play the entirety of Father of All!!!
i wont even get my saviors vinyl for like half a year because its shipping to my parents house and im gonna be at college
Hella Paviors Mega Tour Setlist:
0. Good Riddance (Time of Your Life)

I made a prediction a year ago about what I thought the 1972 tracklist would look like, and had two songs in there which actually came true more or less, "Drunken-loaded" (Dilemma) and "Barbwire Dreams" (Tadikm)
What?
I wrote a fictitious tracklist for the new album and more or less predicted two songs, I thought that was quite funny
I think it’s lame that they’re faking it instead of actually performing live on new years but like if it gets people talking about GD that’s all I care about
Oh I misread it it’s just Jason’s guess
My guess was that it has already been filmed, but I don't have to guess if they are performing live - they aren't. There's a Coverups show on NYE
Honestly not surprised, easier and cheaper to record beforehand than stream it live
Ahh damn
Doesn't matter much to me if they pre-record for something like a NYE special, it's a live performance regardless
I just think it's cool that green day is even there ngl
Could've chosen plenty of others, but chose Green Day
Seen Gray Daviors
Saviors will be the worst album next to FOAM
Bold words for someone with a Saviors song title as their name
It'll be one of the best
@jolly zealot is correct
It's gonna be the best album since
and
It's gonna be the best non-concept Green Day album
Either that or it turns out only the singles are good and the rest is shit
But I trust Green Day, they turned out a 12-album streak of perfect albums from
in 1990 to
in 2016, only briefly interrupted by a couple of songs on
but otherwise every-song-a-banger
Even
was good, it just wasn't as good as all the others
With a track record like this, I have full faith that
will be just as good as or even better than every other Green Day album
I ain’t even gonna read that
It would be really funny if it sucked
Oh you've never seen so many bad takes? List all of them.
Yours
I admit LMNB is one of the best singles since bang bang and it's one of the few songs on repeat for me .
I love LMNB, period. Of course TADIKM and dilemma are fine too.. all three songs are classic green day. But I have a bad feeling about how the album will turn out.
In the latest Amazon music interview, Billie did say it's one of the best album they've ever made. That's pretty bold him to say that considering he said that multiple times in the past
Usually their singles are like one song that’s one of the best off the album and then the others are kinda middle of the road
So I find it the opposite of worrying that all three singles have been awesome
In the past , they don't pick the singles.. it's the record labels.
But now they do
Yeah, but i meant in the past
The guys finally have music they own.
If they can release three songs before everything else and those are all satisfying I think it’s signaling that the overall album is high quality. Plus even if those three are the best songs off the album that’s a pretty high bar anyway
A bunch of other songs that are as good or maybe not as good is probably still a good as fuck album
Revrad had three songs released before the full album and those were all pretty good, then the full album comes out and it has stuff like Forever Now on it
I think the quality of the album will be on par with Revrad, atleast that's what I think.
3-4 songs were Good and rest were pretty average
Suffice to say it’s not really pointing any direction in particular, but we have a sample size of 3 right now and they’re all good so that extrapolates to a bombass album
I wonder if Dillema is the last single or if we're getting one more before the album drops
Pretty sure we're getting one before the album is out
Most of the fans including myself though we were getting father to a son but we got dilemma
Sixteen more singles before the album is out
I am just curious about father to a son.. is it included in the teasers they've shared in the past ?? Or are we getting something new
Remember the teaser where Billie is playing an acoustic and the video playing backwards?
That's either Father to a son or Suzie chapstick
One eyed bastard acoustic version
Considering these two songs have aco arrangements
No shit,
I'll have to call Green Day and ask them
Someone pls tag Billy Joel armstronk in this channel
I need Billie to perform JOS live acoustic.
Solo
But i doubt he could do that since he'll be running around the stage shouting "hey ohhh" and "raise your hands up in the air"
Are you saying saviors will be better than dookie?
I think they have the capacity to make a better album than dookie but I don’t think it would happen anytime soon
It could be
So far it’s definitely not one of my favourites
I like the riffs but I don’t really like the lyrics too much tbh
Just seem too like, they are meant to be taken at face value which isn’t really usually green day in their older albums
Tis a different era of the band
It's crazy how TADIKM could have been on FOAMF.
Wonder what it would've sounded like with the production.
That's what St. Jimmy's Stuff is for.
ima be real
probably graffitia
I have a theory that Fancy sauce is a Christmas Song
They made Christmas covers?
I looked em up and I gotta admit I totally forgot about these potatoe-quality covers
he takes too long
I would explode
My money is on AI and Bobd
I'm more excited about the Coverups show tbh
anyone know when tickets come out for this?
That just makes sense yeah
damn this is the day i fly back to New York for college
hopefully i can get tickets
i wish they still had the idiot club
that’s how i got tickets for a 1500 person show in 2013
It is?
It just feels so flat and boring if you ask me
If it were really a good song, I’d have remembered the song for weeks
Look Ma, No Brains supremacy!
everyone's different i guess
but i love dilemma
it pops into my head constantly
and a green day song in drop d is awesome
Every single so far has been incredible
The one thing that I need from this album is replayability.
Mostly because what the song is about and the lyrics.
Sure it does have a nice guitar riff but I don't feel it either.
I second this.
EXACTLY
Half of the plays on Spotify for Look ma is possibly from me.
the uno dos tre trilogy is far from perfect 😭
OH BABY BABY ITS FUCK TIMEEEEE
That's a great song what're you talking about
"It's Fuck Time" is the latest and newest song by FBHT. They went on to play it 7 more times during night!
Set list:
Stop, Drop, and Roll (played it 4 times)
Mother Mary
It's Fuck TIme (played it 8 times)
Ruby Room
Blood, Sex, and Booze (Green Day cover)
Highway 1
She's a Saint, Not a Celebrity
Sally
Alligator
Supermodel Robot (Th...
The trilogy really shines live
The Longshot - Fell for You (Green Day cover) – San Francisco, Live, 4-17-18, 1st row, Thee Parkside. Billie Joe: Stop! Are you guys ready to dance or what? lol My name is Diesel… :P
Other Tidbits:
The band performed their ‘first official ish show’ at Thee Parkside, a bar and music venue which has a capacity of only ~100 people. Although Bil...
The trilogy is very very underrated, almost every song on those three albums is very replayable
Especially the songs on
BM-excellent tits
I feel like I'm the only one that doesn't love Look Ma lol
Like, I think it's a pretty good song
But I'm not in love with it
I will if I hear Coma City
I will if I hear Bobby Sox
I just started listening to the Sirius station. anybody been listening since the beginning? any new songs yet?
that seems deceitful. lol
Not really.
"New songs" definitely implies singles that have already been released.
Now, if they said "brand new", then that would be raw, unbridled bamboozlery.
I do hope they randomly play 1-2 brand new songs though.
Bobby Sox is apparently comparable to 2000 Light Years in terms of subject matter.
Anyone think this has been repurposed into a Saviors song ?
It’s about zombie romance right?
I hope so, I think it has potential to be a good song
Plus, Fever, which was a song that was also on that leak, is a bonus track so
DJD could've been reworked into a different song or retitled
I remember that Oh Yeah was originally called Bulletproof Backpack
Yeah, I don't even know where the title comes from since the lyrics are inaudible
@deft violet can’t shared leaked songs here (or ask for leaks)
My bad man, since youtube allows it I didn't think much of it
Yeah some leaks have managed to evade getting taken down from YouTube I guess
Oh, I didn't think much of it bc it's only an 8 second snippet of a song we don't even know its on the album lol
Fever sounds boring though, I hope that it has some suprise
Yeah we just wanna avoid trouble with copyright and stuff since they were leaked that’s all
I feel the same about it lol
DJD sounds way more interesting in those 8 seconds lol
Fever being a bonus track is fine with me bc that snippet is so meh
DJD?
Damn Juvenile Delinquents.
Fever and DJD sound really good
I think they're talking about one of the 3 singles from Saviors
Nah
So true
Slow chat... Is it the calm before the storm ?
Ok buddy
Just got back from 2 weeks in the future. Here is my Saviors ranking.
- Bobby Sox
- Coma City

Green dya server is getting toxic in wait of the new album
Turning us all to savages

Nah were not there yet
Key word
YET
If Look Ma was number 3 on the album I would actually be concerned
Look Ma is mid
Also if Look Ma is higher than Dilemma then I’m concerned for the album
Yeah Billie Joe called me and said they got the release date wrong on the ads and it’s actually coming out January 19th 2025
Sorry guys
can't wait for saviors, release date january 19th 2026
we're all gonna be anticipating the day the album comes out, january 19th 2027
january 19th 2028 can't come fast enough
No dilemma rules
Look Ma is forgettable
Only cool part is Taco Bell
TADIKM also is id argue
Dilemmas the only one that gets stuck in my head and I don’t get annoyed
I was sober now I’m drunk againnnnnnn I love it
And 1981.
I hate 1981.
My ranking for the four we’ve heard
Dilemma
Look Ma
TADIKM

Thanks, I couldn't think of a word for dillema
Dildo
stfu
She's gonna bang your mom like 1981
She's gonna bang your mom like 1981

And she'll never make love to a man
She is a motherfucker and

For her true love and she won't look back
They're going to be married when September ends

She's gonna bang your mom like 1981
She's gonna bang your mom like 1981
She's gonna bang your mom like 1981
(Yes, I wrote it myself)
What's your opinion on One Eyed Bastard ?
1981 IS GOOD
I am a 1981 defender
The live performance of it in Paris completely sold me on it, I think it sounds great
I haven’t even listened to it I just know that line from @worn gull saying it
I hope the album leaks next week. I'm going crazy
Next week seems to close for it to leak imo but idk
FOAM leaked like a week before release
What is this🤣
Tbh I’m like this with LMNB because fsr I always think it goes “Ligma, no brains”
Idk lol, I just saw that line and decided "time to write a parody"
3 weeks!!
It would be hard but I would hold off
All those articles are the same aren't they
They never ask interesting questions
It's always basic promotion stuff
That's how you know they aren't fans
We should be getting another single before the album is out
By that time we could've heard about 1/4th of the album
Same here actually
I feel the same
I'm gonna try to not listen to another single if it isn't OEB or 1981
Bc I wanna be surprised
The bridge in oeb is so good.
Yeah it's good and now we're gonna hear Rob Covallo's version. It'll be better
Just 20 days left, guys!
what time are the NYE performances
I don’t think we’ll know an exact time until they announce “and Green Day is coming up next!”
Can someone tag me and tell me what songs they played pretty please
You’ll probably be able to find it in the forum thread
#1191023338676568104
HAPPY SAVIORS MONTH
Most is people talking about people realizing its about them. Or i curated my feed well.
Lmao legends
im surprised theyre surprised
It happens all the damn time it's really funny
So what did they play
No new songs?
Wtf
Was that something different or am I stupid
I thought they’d have a longer set rip
Glad I didnt stay up for that geez
They played more songs than everyone else lol
Everyone else just got one song pretty much
Oh okay
Hahaha new album out in two weeks
Anyone have clips of dilemma live???
Nvm dilemma was Al done in post
Not really live tbh
Wdym
Show was prerecorded, done live several times and then mixed using parts of different takes
I guess they didn't want an Amazon live incident were the mix was dogshit
I knew they were gonna pre record it but mixing it that way is lame
It's all for show
Speaking of
I've noticed that in the most recent live shows Billie has been singing way closer to how he does in studio
May as well do all that stuff in post if you’re already gonna prerecord since it’s not a live broadcast anyway. Bands do stuff like that on live albums too after all so I don’t have a problem with it myself
Is there any evidence for this or is it just an assumption?
Billie was performing with the Coverups last night.
They had disclaimers saying the performances were pre-recorded too
If it wasn't on the small stage in Times Square, then it was recorded ahead of time
That's basically confirmation
👁️
Let’s not get too ahead of ourselves, we don’t know for sure that it’s been changed significantly.
I hope it's the exact same song but with louder hand claps
It's fine by me if it wasn't
I just know that it will sound miles better with Rob's production
It hasn’t, but I’m excited for the new production
It's wild that after all 1981 wasn't a single
Not really.
Horseshoes and Handgrenades and a bunch of trilogy songs weren’t either.
Uno was the only album from the trilogy to get multiple singles, right?
I think it’ll sound good
Turns out most Green Day songs weren’t singles
i mean even the old version sounded single worthy to me
most people probably dont know about the leak. The only version i found of it on yt was a cover.
Where did you see this?
It is on practically every social media of theirs
#band-news
To me it makes sense as A, an old version of it was already leaked, and B, more stuff we haven't already heard will be saved for the album drop itself
I was fully expecting the 4th single to either be OEB or 1981
I’d prefer 1981 tbh
Just because we heard a more clear version
I think
All the recordings I have heard of OEB are bad
I’ve heard the actual recording that isn’t edited with tons of reverb and echo, or do you just mean that you think the song is bad?
Ew OEB
You’ve got the worst opinions here
No that’s @static flint
OEB is a great song
OEB just sounds like so what by pink
Yeah but it’s Green Day and the only thing that sounds like that is the guitar
no hate it’s just the truth 😔
it’s not like it’s just a cover of like so what
It’s too poppy
💀
You’re strange
How
I just don’t like what I heard of it
If they change it in a way that i like it then ill change my mind
I’ve heard the edits
When do singles usually release ? On Wednesday ?
Dilemma released on a Thursday I think
Oh so it can be any day
OEB is such a good song!
Glad it's the last single, so excited to hear the final version
OEB and so what by pink does sound similar but they're not identical.
There's another song by Deep purple which sounds similar too
OEB is a big meh but some little changes can make it VERY good.
Based on what we heard so far from the album I have faith. It needs harsher guitar, louder drums and angrier vocals.
That's what we got so far from the other singles so I'm sure the final version will be great.
Imagine Dilemma with FOAM production, it would be boring.
I agree honestly my biggest complaint with TADIKM and Look Ma is the effect on Bullies Vocals
It sounds like a tin can kind of or too much treble
I feel like OEB is gonna be the one that’ll grow on me over time
I’m probs gonna listen to it loads during softball season as a hype song otherwise idrk
I don't really get this complaint when Warning sounds just like Picture Book by The Kinks and no one says anything about that lol
Bullie Joe Strongarm
Boggie woe Dickweak
green day trending on twitter for calling out the MAGA movement, we are so fucking back
The difference is that that song is good and so what is not
Idrc if they got inspiration from something but I just don’t like how it sounds
you guys think the pink guitar riff will change for OEB or be basically the exact same thing with better production?
for some reason i think they basically leave it the same.
No way they change the riff, that's the main shtick of the song
Same song, better production
I like both songs lol
LMAO
Have you guys even listened to So What because even the riff is a bit different from the So What melody
And that’s the only similarity
I just think it doesn’t sound good in general i just don’t like the melody of the song at all
That’s fair but that’s pretty different than the So What comparison “criticism”
Just say you don’t like it instead of reaching
OEB and So What have practically nothing in common and that’s always just felt like people desperate for a “they’re too pop” thing
Warning is closer to Picture Book than One Eyed Bastard is to So What
Idk it sounds similar to So What to me
I seem to be in the minority (no pun intended). I love OEB. I love the melody. Kind of reminds me of early Offspring
I liked all their other singles for this album but OEB is just too poppy for me
But maybe I’ll change my mind once i hear the official released version
OEB has so much of that pounding heavy guitar that I’m a little mystified by the poppy observation. I can never tell what people mean when they call a song poppy anyway though
IMO One Eyed Bastard sounds about as much like, or maybe even less like So What as The American Dream is Killing Me does
Watch it sound way different anyhow, that leak is years old
But that one riff is hardly the defining characteristic of the song
