You're not wrong, much to my and everyone else's dismay. All most of us want at this point is for them to release another teaser, guess that's difficult considering they aren't recording anymore.

They've got a lot of expectations to live up to, Green Day already has the wretched stain of being a "burnt out sellout Pop band" and their last outing really cemented this idea that they're washed up and out of things to say on their own merit.

With "Insert Album Title Here", they've got a chance to reclaim their status in the Rock world, honestly the songs sound really good as they are. They feel like a Frankenstein's monster amalgamation of The Longshot and their last few non-album singles, that feels like the most natural progression for Green Day. How that bears in execution remains obviously to be seen, my biggest concern is that people will instantly write it off 'cause they were so turned off by what they'd put out prior

It feels like a great song still in it's crafting stages, there's some parts that don't flow so nicely together, however it's got really strong individual pieces and it sounds like how I think Green Day should at this moment in time, like an extension of their 90s/2000s work with some of the tricks they've learned on Father Of All. This song kicks Pollyanna and Shock's ass, which makes me believe it wasn't rejected as a single because it wasn't good enough, it was cause it was album worthy
