it’s over produced and “very out of the blue” in terms of musical style shift.

Green Day went from their traditional melodic punk to folk punk/power-pop with Warning, back to politically charged punk with AI, pop-punk/arena rock with 21st CB. Power-pop/garage rock/pop-punk with the trilogy, and back to basics punk with Rev Rad up to that point.

Father of All was very different and didn’t really have anything to that made it feel like a Green Day record. It was so different from the rest of their discography.

To me it felt like a mix between their side project Foxboro Hot-tub and the white stripes.

Just more poppy and synth driven.
