Something that that's kind of interesting looking at the physical copy of this game is that they don't actually hint at leon being in it from the box

I’m seeing too many people complaining about grace Ashcroft’s character and I’m genuinely confused, i think she’s an awesome realistic character that they did very well on, some People out here are genuinely annoyed because “she stutters too much” or “doesn’t fight well” or that she’s always too anxious this that and the other, and i’m like lol what are these comments

I have just finished the game last night so im a good authority on this, Grace is a good RE protagonist and character because shes already seemingly very anxious and introverted, thats a unique contrast from previous playable characters in RE, she feels like a good mirror of the player in those really tense horror sections
Its also good that shes like that already because its a good starting point for character growth, shes able to become more confident

The details they added to her character accurately portray someone who’s scared, anxious and worried IMO. It’s giving the thing of how some people didn’t like Ashley because she was scared and “Relying on leon too much” and i’m like… what lmao

So I’ve gone back to RE4R after playing RE9 for so long; just to sort of feel what it was like

It’s manic, village scene followed by the run up to the basement to find Luis is wild, there’s enemies everywhere and I’m not sure how I’d waddle through it if I didn’t already know I could waltz through

Parrying on anything but professional was a piece of piss and really fun; and I still liked exploring even if I’d put nearly 100 hours into the game already

I’m only 25 hrs into RE9 and I’m one playthrough away (granted on insanity) from a platinum trophy and I’m actually really sad to stop playing I’ve loved it so much lol

Up there with RE4R for me, so much nostalgia, but also insane fun combat as Leon, and great survival horror strategy as Grace, plus - they’re both very enjoyable characters

I didn’t want to stop playing, I think I loved it more than most

Very very was platinum, unlike RE2/4, you could do the hardest difficulty with stuff like infinite ammo, from the start

The original RE3 is where Mercs was first introduced, then every other game that has it is RE4, RE5, RE6, village, and RE4R
with RE9 maybe being added to that list in a few months

Also Revelations 1 and 2 both have something called Raid Mode which is kinda like Mercs except its more level based and has more expanded weapon customization

One thing i didn’t realise until i went to go start a new game on RE4 is that when u finish it the first time you unlock costumes for leon and ashley and i love that

Yeah, I would typically use the rpd uniform on every subsequent play through

However, the remake made that outfit so much harder to obtain and I hate that about it

you have o get S+ rank with every character on all 4 stages in Mercenaries

That is a very surprising jump in difficulty from how in the original game you basically just unlocked it by beating the game once

the remake version of the police uniform does have noticeable differences, like how the big shoulder pads are gone

However, Now that I’ve finished re4 og and checked out all the extras, I think i’m going to move onto RE2R because that’s what looks more intriguing to me currently

I played the RPD demo for RE2R just so i could get a rough idea of how the gameplay feels and ngl the movements feel so weird after being so used to the controls and camera movement in the og re4 lol

More ammo frugal, enemies are bullet sponges sometimes so avoid where possible (but on standard you can absolutely take everything out if you’re smart)

Terrific fun,
I believe (since imaging RE9, Leon A and Clare B is the canon in the remakes, contrary to the other way round in the original)

Play RE2R relatively blind, maybe ask here for help if you get really stuck because it’s more fun for a first time run, tough platinum but a favourite of many

Wait so if any of you guys have played it what makes that one kinda different to mercenaries? I know that u can only play as leon in this one where in mercs u can play as multiple characters and stuff, although the concept of it still seems similar

mercinaries on RE4R and others is a level based hoard mode
e.g. on RE4R you can play in the village, the key and goal is to defeat all the enemies (time based, and until you kill 150) you get a score

Leon must die (and ethan must die) is a roguelite where you progress through multiple levels to get to the end and level up as you go

i’ve been playing RE2R this morning via my stepdads pc because it has Xbox gamepass and it was included with it, (along with 3 remake, 7 and village) and it’s been great so far I’m definitely a fan of this already for sure

Killing zombies definitely does take a few bullets because they’ll just get back up otherwise but it doesn’t take that much with the right method, overall very good so far i’m not too far into it i believe

You go back to the RPD, the sewers has a section - if you find the key - to get up in a lift back to it

Also where you met up with Ada you literally go back to the RPD when you’re time is up with her

But you explore the sewers properly after and can still go back

well that’s good because i didn’t like the idea of having to possibly reload the game just to get stuff i missed lol

also being able to shoot while moving is extremely refreshing compared to having to stand still and hope for the best im quite glad that’s changed

while i was able to get on with that kind of gameplay after a bit its still easier

It’s more intuitive but the games are all designed around the controls, like RE4 if you could move and shoot would be more of a cakewalk than it already is
