I am used to playing siege (1500+, been both diamond and champ on multiple accounts) and I'm really happy that this game allows you to interact more with the prep-phase in general. The only problem is that it gives you so little time to think that there isn't really that much time to prepare for the round. If you could extend each phase (gear up and action phase) by at least 30 seconds it would be a little easier to coordinate an attack/defence. Also reducing clutter in the map interface would be greatly appreciated (i sometimes lose track of my position and everything looks the same, might just be me tho)

You can always mute your teammates map drawings if you want less clutter, or just randoms
You’ll still be able to hear them speak.
Side note if you haven’t figured it out already, when on attack you can drag the marker with your name by the truck to where you want to breach and it will be there when the round starts to guide you to where to go even without a drawn map line
The defense marker just changes where you spawn in the building
forming and coordinating a plan quickly on an unfamillar map is part of the challenge of the game
another note, apologies if you know this already, you arent required to stay in the map until it kicks you out on attack, you only have to stay in for like 5 secs then you can leave it and stand up with like 45 seconds of prep still
defense is similar, if you have a primary and secondary equipped you spawn in with like 15 seconds left, otherwise you have to click on your map marker to spawn earlier or wait for the round to start for the auto deployment
no reason not to grab a secondary every round on both sides, there are 15 secondarys for both sides
as far as being confused by the map goes: you can hit space to swap from the blueprint view to a sat view that shows the actual terrain, might be less disorienting for some

it will auto deploy you at round start, or just click the little green click to spawn button under your map marker
but if you grab a secondary before 15 secs left you wont have to worry about that
yeah this explains why i've been sitting alone in the loadout area like a dumbass
no worries lol, but on defense your meant to sort of spread out where the team spawns to set up barb other shit etc, then you guys can kind of condense to your holds on round start if you needed to
yeah it would be cooler if i could set the same tone for my whole hud
also in case you didn't know, you spawn on your pawn on defence
if you dont move your marker youll just spawn with the bomb
so you can move it to where you want to be
being used to games like siege and tarkov made me sensitive to colors

hey man, you will get used to the pace if you play long enough. it's a great game! and who knows, maybe in the future there will be larger maps, that give you longer rounds.
Part of the fun is having such short times admittedly. My strategy is usually circle points of entry and mark windows, my friends then build a path and plan off of that to enter. From here it largely depends on the prep and skill of both sides.
