Safest way would be to root it with magisk. The phone has the specs to do it. So long as the bootloader is unlocked and you find a guide, it’ll do the job and then some.

If anyone experiencing "failed to authenticate" error, the solution is to Clear all Google Play Service storage data. Not cache ! Storage data. I couldnt access my alt account for 2-3 weeks from cloned app on Xiaomi phone. After this procedure the issue was resolved. In miui 11:
Apps>Google play services>Clear data(manage space)>clear all data.

This problem usually occurs when your mobile is not passing the SafetyNet check. It is not necessary to pass both verifications but the Basic Integrity certification is essential to play freely.

To check safetynet status, use YASNAC.

How to solve it?

→ Magisk 23

Download and install the latest version of the Riru .zip file;
Download and install the latest version of the MagiskHide Props .zip file;
Download and install this version of the .zip file Universal SafetyNet Fix for RIRU ;
Reboot the mobile;
Completely hide the Pokémon Go in MagiskHide: click on [🛡️] → MagiskHide → :yes_check_pkmd: Pokémon Go;
Try logging back into the game using Pokemod.

Open Magisk, then options and enable "Zygisk", then reboot your phone;
After rebooting, go to the website and download the latest Play Integrity Fix .zip file. In case you're using Xiaomi.eu custom ROM, use this safety net module;

#field_quests gets updated when the quest team gets around to it. There is no schedule for when it drops. If you want a quicker way to get them, use live maps pinned in #chatroom or use the quest feed in ipogo if using that method of spoofing.
A bit longer method if using android is having a iOS device with ipogo signed into a dummy account, and find the question you want in the same location you are in then use quest feed, and make note of the cords and manually type it into the device you’re using for main. It’s tedious but works. Or you can use live maps as I mentioned.

That phone can’t be rooted with magisk based on where it’s from. You can see if #ipogo android works on it but use alt accounts only.

Because you probably triggered cooldown somewhere else. You spun a stop/caught a Pokémon somewhere too far away from where you are now. You need to wait until your cooldown is over or go back to where you were playing before.

@deep steeple and @urban walrus This answer is for both of you regarding rooting. The best way to find out IF a device can be rooted and or IF a guide exists for it is googling the devices model # and magisk root in the same sentence.
Great example is my one plus 8 pro is a in2025, so I would search “ in2025 magisk root”
Reason being is if I just searched one plus 8 pro magisk root I would yes find guides that are generic to my device with the only difference being the firmwares tied to Europe model, international, etc. but some devices like the one plus 7 pro had a t mobile model that can be rooted, but had extra steps to it and has a different model number compared to the international model.

Hello everyone.
Niantic seems to have blocked the Samsung version from the Galaxy store (or the apk downloaded from apk mirror, for example).
The launch bar stops two thirds of the way with “unable to authenticated” displayed.
The same fate had recently been reserved for cloned versions of Pokemon Go (certain programs or certain phones allowed it).
It was very practical to have two launch icons (or more) with different accounts for switch...
I have just tested on three phones again, one rooted, one non-rooted Samsung, another non-rooted brand. The game no longer launches, although there was no problem before.
I notice that the play store version - and the same one duplicated on the professional profile (or via Island or parallel Space) - still works perfectly.
Have other players encountered the same difficulty with the Samsung Galaxy apk version of Pokémon go?
Do you think this is just a one-off bug and that the problem will be resolved in an upcoming Pokémon Go update?

I found some information regarding our issue and after Turning on gaming hub...the game opened...working for now...I'll paste it below

Not sure if some of you have it fixed, I contacted Samsung and Niantic. Niantic gave me the "We filed a report and passed it on to our team" answer.

Samsung responded which fixed the issue, quite simple but not sure if it will help fix the issue for some of you. Here is the shortened email they gave me below. (My game launcher was set to deep sleep after the update not sure how but that was my fix, just tapped and cleared the application from deep sleep mode.)

From your inquiry we understand that you encounter issues with the Game Launcher application since you are unable to run the Pokemon Go game.
In order for you to solve this issue please do the following steps:
First, please restart your phone. Kindly know that a simple restart can solve a lot of issues with a modern device.
Go to Settings > Apps > Search for Game Launcher, Game tools and Game Optimizing Service (one-by-one) > Storage > Clear Cache and if the issue persists, also perform a Force Stop

My current device is a Motorola G7 running Android 9. After being rock solid for several years, it's now loses its location mostly because the GPS Joystick in the background dies/killed.
It's ability to play PoGo has been slowly getting worse over the past year. Laggy joystick interactions, slower in-game play. It just feels like a phone that's struggling to keep up. After this last forced update I can't even do two raids without restarting PoGo between them (mostly to keep the Joystick from dying).

So they are not spoofing and they are legit player. Therefore I don't think Niantic can detect if the device is rooted or not if we hide it by proper method. Then the only question is going back to what I asked above. If the GPS provided from joystick can be regarded as build-in GPS.

What Pogo does it check if mock location is on or off in developer and if being used or not. Up until 2017 Feb security patch this cannot be determined by some loophole in Android which is why it was common to spoof without root those days but the lateral security patch fixed the issue and the Android Sub system tells if the location that it's getting is mocked or not.
So Basically with rooted we can hide that information and say to the sub system as it's true location and not mocked.

You don't need to systemize your joystick if you are already rooted just need to give permission to the joystick and set it in developer options -mock location

Satellite info can disabled on non rooted phones as well so if their parameter is looking at satellite signals it will not always work for every Android out there. Gnss can disabled few have it off by default few on.

If they are really able to detect spoofing it should be applied in foreground like Failed to Detect location that makes it impossible to play. Personally haven't seen any vanilla users getting any kind of bans since 2020 except if they used modified apps somewhere in the middle.

That's not how you root check YouTube better.
You need to install twrp and from twrp you need to Flash magisk..

If rooted devices fingerprints get banned need to update respect modules responsible for it or move to the above suggested modules which pass Device integrity checks.
However Strong integrity cannot be passed with an unlocked bootloader.
Pogo currently needs Device integrity.

I think you haven't extracted boot.img from the same version and flashed it of a different version like older or newer build.
Magisk patched.img should be from the same build number not from some random file online.

If it's not carrier locked and if it has OEM unlocking options available in developer options you can root it.
Nowadays people directly patch the boot.img file from the corresponding stock rom and flash it.
Official SamliPatcher works till Android 11 and few 12
If you have A13 and above you'll need to try
SamliPatcherEX this works till 14. But the very best alternative that most are using that doesn't require a pc is lsposed with a mockmocklocation module in it that does the same thing to bypass failed to detect location.

With Velocity I am always getting white page. Not sure what changed with browser, but I have cleared cache data, uninstalled and reinstalled Velocity and browser, but still only getting white page. When I going to discord login through web browser directly it is redirecting me to joy stick app and gives error fail to get location.

And it with all web requests, they are all being redirected to joy stick and then it gives error fail to get location. Doesn't matter which website I am trying to go to. Not necessary. Just check that defaults are enabled in velocity and if still it's white in velocity screen clear data webview app or update webview or try webview beta app from playstore.
