Shiny is random per account so just keep checking magikarp. Best to load a live map ( check pins in this chat) and filter for magikarp in the map / city of your choice

Never said it was your theory. Just saying that it sounds like a lot of coincidence. I ran 4 alts in the exact same route I made for my main. All 4 alts saw a bird with just the 15 min incense. I ran my main for 3 hours and saw nothing.

You need to the buddy trick. You travel to the potential zorua. Change buddies. Walk away until it disappears. Change back to you previous buddy and when it shows on screen it will show it true form. Click to see if it's shiny. But you are limited how many times a day you can do this trick and if just far distances the glitch wears off.

If you are below level 30 the IVs will be random as a result the cp won't match

Also IVs is more important that cp. You can always power up a Pokemon to increase the cp but can't be the same for IVs unless it gets lucky when u trade where the minimum IVs floor is 12/12/12
Just grind to lv30. It's easy and the catch 100ivs
