you can google magisk to get a better grip of what it is. essentially they are 2 sides of the same coin. root is gaining root access to your device you normally dont have. magisk is a simplified way of gaining root and is a key in giving specific apps super user rights to take access of said root access. whether it be pokemod, island (cloning apps), AdAway(removal of ads from apps), and my favorite Titanium Backup (root level backup app)
