encounter is actually clicking on it, not appearing on map. assuming you're playing legit, it would take anywhere from 5 to 8 hours of checking nonstop. then have to factor in you would need to be somewhere where you will have a new pokémon every 2-3 seconds to hit the limit legitimately.

5 to 8 is the absolute minimum it would most likely be closer to 10 or 12 and you would have to be actively going for it
