I've played a decent bit against AI, and understand the mechanics well. However, the moment I fight a human, I fail. Anything I should know when it comes to fighting humans?

CPUs will not substitute real people
they can help you learn how to combo, sometimes
and that's kind of it once you're familiar with the mechanics and feel comfortable moving around
practicing against people is the only way to practice against people. you'll do it a lot and probably lose a lot and that's okay.
