Hello! I'm a mid platinum Kragg main seeking some advice V.S. Maypul. This is the MU I have the least experience with, as well as find to be the hardest MU for me in the game. I struggle with edgeguarding Maypul, especially when they hug the wall and up air to get distance, it breaks the rocks I attempt to throw down to snuff out the recovery. Maypul also can just stand on stage and throw seeds and I just. Die. I fall to my doom 😭 Overall, very fast character and I get combo'd very easily if I'm not careful, anyone have general tips vs Maypul as well as maybe some specific tips as a Kragg player? Thank you!!

This MU is mostly about staying safely around mid-distance & using rock throw mixups to make Maypul have a harder time approaching. You also combo her as hard as she combos you, maybe even more so. You can use SSDI to escape her low % upair juggles by doing it in the opposite direction of her drift.
If Maypul gets close, you can use your jabs, tilts, & chain grab to make it more difficult for her. She is particularly weak to shielding (& also floorhug at low %)
Offstage, you cannot pull rock on your pillar most of the time; like you said, you'll just die. You. just need to use your many mixups to recover.
It's not easy to contest Maypul offstage, so you'd have to get really creative with it using stuff like rock, command grab, & dair; but if she has all resources, you're better off staying on stage & trying to throw rock either down or neutral throw. I think holding stage & using fair/bair/rock to prevent her from regaining center is good, because she will die super early from (combos leading into) fair
Not a Kragg player, so they can probably give you more specific advice, but hopefully this is a good start. I think it's Maypul favored at lower levels of play, but becomes much closer at higher levels
Great write up
thank you so much!! i'll definitely write this down and keep it in my notes :)
Sure thing! You may get value from joining the Kragg discord as well, if you haven't already. Lmk if you need a link
that’d be really helpful !
