#How do I hold center stage?

I almost never hold center stage and I always end up putting myself in the corner. Usually because I overshoot, or I'm tech chasing and they tech in and I'm at the ledge, or I'm edgegaurding someone and they go over me and now I'm in the corner

well it's a choice

#

you can either go for a committal approach or hold center stage

#

holding your position will often guarantee more stage control and provide easier openings, but also means you won't get as much reward off your openings

#

really this is just about how to play good advantage state when your opponent is in the corner

#

unless you're talking about neutral where holding center stage is a different sort of thing

oh

#

well

#

it's not really something you can centralize a gameplan around tbh?

#

like if you look at high level neutral they never just hold center stage

#

it's moreso a tool for when you're in advantage

#

but it's something you should exercise if your opponent lets you do it

#

using movement or walling to pressure them into the corner and effectively put yourself into advantage anyway without actually hitting them, then just stay in center stage and exploit your superior position

#

but if they respond to your pressure correctly you just can't do that
