Was hoping I could get someone to make me a few short videos of practice drills. I'm looking for one that is movement related. Something like a tongue jump in to momentum cancel to some needle drop from platforms with some plat dashes and some bubble stall spots. Just something I can do while warming up to get used to using all of his movement options. When I'm playing I end up just doing things that I'm comfortable with and never really test out how to use the more unique mechanics ranno has. Even in training I don't feel like I have a good plan to practice that stuff.

The other video would be like some common hitfall situations I can practice and setups like dtilt into nair hitfall nair and a follow up. So a few like that that just come up a lot so I can start getting it into my muscle memory. Similar to movement I end up just playing the game and really feel lost trying to practice hitfall stuff in training. When I get them in a match I never really know how to follow it up. So hoping I can get someone to get me something like that.

This is great but I was really looking for a hand drill. I know the tech I need to learn but just grinding each one is really hard for me as far as focusing goes. Am more looking for something that hits like 2 runs that use all the movement tech going around the map as a routine I could grind.

For the hit fall thing I'm looking for some basic situations like dtilt nair nair and stuff like that I could grind for hits that come up a lot so I can work on getting those into my mm and don't have to react for these bnb hits.

@fickle zinc or @winter rune, is there a source for where I can find the specific inputs for some of these drills? here's a list of the techs that I don't know the specific inputs for:

  • shield + turn (without sliding)
  • shield + turn (with sliding)
  • (from ledge) wave dash onto stage with immunity?
#

I tend to dodge backward instead of turning

Shield + turn (without sliding) / shield pivoting: dash forward and pivot back within 1f and back to neutral, then shield. Great for microspacing and giving you options to wavedash out of shield.

Shield + turn (with sliding) / rar shield: dash forward and turn around + shield after initial dash. Use this to grab ledge from a distance you cant wavedash back to.

Ledgedashing - do the melee method. Grab the ledge and let go as early as frame 7 and jump. Its all bufferable. If you waveland on the stage, you'll have 10f of invuln and can shield frame 1 to cover yourself.

If you move it left or right when holding shield you'll roll but not if its being held before you shield.

gotcha. I think I'm getting the timing down now. thanks

"pivot shielding and wavedash out of shield solely as movement options."
when you say this, do you immediately drop shield after executing these movements?

fickle zinc
#

I don't drop shield. I act out of it and let go of my shield button during jumpsquat.

" you use these to microspace in and out of threat ranges in game."

#

so one of my worst match ups right now is clairen

#

I imagine this would help me immensely because i can bait out a tilt and absorb it with shield, then go for a back-air?

fickle zinc
#

imo you're better off baiting bad approach options w/ cc tilts and needles but this is also applicable, yes.

#

However i wouldnt recommend going for it very often since any clairen worth their money knows where to reset and give space on bad spacing

#

And whiffed bairs you can't hitfall mean you're certainly eating a punish vs clairen

I see

omg!! i feel like i'm doing something. this isn't too hard now I know it's all bufferable

@fickle zinc just wanted to say, I practiced ledge dashing, shield turning and using it to snap ledge easily. I feel so much more in control of the ledge and turn around shield is making shield grab so much easier. people like to cross up and so they don't expect me to face them! thanks so much
