Joking aside, FFXIV is indeed, fortunately or not, a subscription-based MMO. So if your wallet cannot support it, then don't feel pressured.
That being said, the free trial is essentially endless, though limiting. It does contain the base game and I think 2 of the DLCs, which is well over 100 hours of story alone, let alone side content. So if anyone is looking for an MMO to play, it's not a bad option.

I think the PS4 would curl up in the corner and cry if you tried to run FFXVI on it. It's an amazing game, but really gives the PS5 a workout.

And if Ozma wasn't bad enough. Zodiark in XII infuriated me one day. I had him down to just a sliver of health, I could've farted on him to end it. But he decides to go NOPE, by pulling bullshit immunity frames, and casts a Darkja that knocks out the remainder of my party. I have not touched that game since that, and that was over a decade ago.

Ever Crisis has more than a few enemies that are like 'you die now'
and I can't say its a case of F2P game, cus you don't lose stamina if you party wipe (but there is no revive materia, yet)

So I was just looking at the weapons of Ever Crisis, and they all seem to have the FF7R style materia slots (but you can't actually slot materia into them), so I do wonder if any of them are going to appear in Rebirth in the same remade style they are in EC
Also Red XIII's weapons are collars rather than like combs and hairpins

so funny story (maybe) they did a FFVII/FFIX crossover for Ever Crisis
and predictably Young Sepiroth gets Kuja's outfit and sword, which gives him the non-elemental flare style attack that Kuja gets in FFIX - the one I mentioned here recently

Turns out spirit is a lesser stat for Magic Def, so I guess healing is based on Mag Att - I'll have to check when I finish playing

Oh yeah there's more than just White Black and Red, there's also Green and Blue - the latter beingmore support and beast spell focused. Red mages are a combination of White and Black but a master of neither.
