it tries to be too much of a soulslike:
instant death pit and spikes, clunky controls on purpose, recovery from being hit being kinda long, no metroidvania upgrades, convoluted quests that can get locked out for the whole game if you explore in the wrong way (even if the game gives you freedom on where to go)
