fledgeling wings + rocketboots(or any of it's upgrades) + balloon makes it feel like you've got a pair of legit early hardmode pair of wings
yer not gonna like to hear this... but
go fishing
find the angler, do his quests every day
and you will get all the gear you need
you need at minimum 50% fishing power to get crates reliably
so don't even bother with the wooden rod; iron/lead rod is the bare minimum, but yer not gonna get crates with it(but it'll suffice for quest fish with good bait)
make a little fishing hut in each of the biomes, so you have a safe place to go to
make 2 rooms for 2 npc's above it so you can buy the pylons
now you can insta tele to each biome, making the quests a breeze
(for sky biome, just fly up with a gravitation potion, then drop a ton of rope)
it's slow going
and it'll be rough for a while
but it's by far the most reliable way to get geared up in master mode

now that I think of it, assuming that I will try to do what the guy did, I could say pick both Mana Flower and Magnet Flower, it works, a little suboptimal but if I want to force it then it works since well you do get stacking decreased mana usage and you get increased star pickup range + star fall "protection", but as a Mage you'll be dealing so much damage anyway that you won't be spamming your weapons way too much, and stacking Mana Flower based items really doesn't sound like big brain moment anyway because for one they all provide auto mana potion usage and obviously that doesn't stack lmfao @weary aurora
