If you have Life Drain and are willing to switch to magic build temporarily, you can cheese the hell out of the destoyer by using life drain where it spawns if you go to where its coiled up as soon as it appears. This may not work very well in normal worlds since when I did it I was in a for the worthy world where the destroyer is twice as long, but I briefly had 40k dps.
