If you use a Lavaproof Tackle Bag in tandem with a Golden Fishing Pole, you can bypass that whole "not catching anything" thing. That "Not catching anything" is actually the line snapping, which is prevented with the High-Test Fishing Line, which is an ingredient in the Lavaproof Tackle Bag.

Not if you have a Lavaproof Fishing Hook. Then the line simply doesn't break.
I've spent a while fishing in Lava.
It takes awhile but if you are patient, you can get a lot of goodies

Well imo master mode summoner is a torture session if your dodging game isn't A+ (but the damage you can get on specific whip/minion combos is absolutely disgusting, even on master mode)
Mage will be a torture session until you get a magic armor and diamond/ruby staff but after that you should be solid for the rest of the game since mages have a consistently powerful and varied loadout to choose from

whenever she tries to fire the stingers she'll try to fly in above you, but if you fly above her when she swoops in then she doesn't do the attack, instead trying to get in above you again

you're gonna want to get the onyx blaster once you start hard mode. corrupted desert spawns mummies which drop dark shards, gather a few dark souls, and I guess the last ingredient was shotgun. pretty big upgrade to phoenix blaster.

The game tries to make the distinction between "Underground" and "Underground Desert/Snow/Jungle/Crimson/Corruption/Hallow." So if an NPC/Enemy Spawn Requirement requires "Underground" it usually means plain old Underground, with no other biome, just like the Guide; He just wants the Forest; No other biomes, just the default biome.

it's really easy
putting a pylon for each biome surface will make traveling easy
in case you don't know, pylons are items that allow the player to teleport from a biome to another
you right click a pylon, opens the map, you click the pylon you wanna go to and it teleports you to it.
