It is hard to get a list of all the slimes, but rainbow is a commonly missed one
Tim spawns in pre and post hardmode in the lava layer only (This is the cavern layer that was lava, it does not necessarily have to be with the veiny lava background)
Nymphs are rare enemies from anywhere in the cavern layer, a lifeform analyser will help you with that by indicating a 'lost girl', use a hunter potion to locate it in conjunction with the radar before it despawns
Doctor bones spawns super rarely in the jungle, but I always have the best luck on the surface at night. A blood moon is prime chance for this spawn.
For the last three, I highly recommend using water candles and battle potions to increase spawn rates, remember also that spawns are reduced around town NPCs

running attempts at 2% succes odds according to binomial law:
35 attempts for over 50% chances to make it
69 attempts for over 75% chances to make it
149 attempts for over 95% chances to make it
... unless I misread my sheet, it's years old and i'm real rusty nowadays

This is just to illustrate that it's pretty expectable to need way over 50 attempts for one drop 😉

Expert and master mode really don't mess around. Even with the best gear you will still need a good idea of how the boss moves and attacks. Trial and error. If you are having difficulties with eye of cthulhu make a platform that you run along for the super fast dashes and alternate which direction you move on each break.
Remember also to use campfires, heart lanterns if you can, and potions. Regeneration, ironskin and swiftness are game changers

World seeds don't impact progression much, or at least not as much as other games that have seed generation. Every item that you need is accessible in each world, some seeds just make it easier or harder to find. Notably, hermes boots are essential for an easier eye of cthulhu battle.

Moon Lord is frankly a rather unfair fight and the largest difficulty spike in the game. It is just a mess of predictive and non-predictive projectiles and overlapping patterns that get you hit through no fault of your own. It is a fight that you have to really understand on harder difficulties if you want to win.

I ended up creating a afk farm in the cavern layer (close to spiders part). I did it initially to farm soul of light. Then someone recommended me to buy Clentaminator and use hallow pots on your afk farm build. I did and now I have plenty of Soul of light.
I really want to get Rod of Discord (attained from Chaos Elemental). But that monster isn't spawning in my afk farm. Is it because I've used Clentaminator?
