I don't like doing it but I've dynamited the area around crimson a few times.

its time consuming, but it works.

if you defeat a mech boss, you can get the clementator.

there's a few ways to freeze time, but I don't really dabble with those much.

(note) biome spread will still happen because it can jump a few blocks more than the ordinary bomb/sticky bomb. It doesn't reach over large spaces such as the dynamite radius.
