Chop down trees and craft wooden equipment

Make a house for the guide and for other npcs

They need to be walled, they need to have doors, a torch, a chair, and a table or workbench

Use stone, wood and torches to craft a furnace

The guide will tell you how to craft certain things

Just put an item in it and he will say what you can craft with it

Mine ores to craft better equipment, and take note of glowing ore, mine it once you have a gold/platinum pickaxe

If you find crystal hearts, mine them and use them, they will increase your max health

Also don’t feel any pressure to rush/do things quickly, you can play the game at whatever pace you like. There’s a ton of stuff to explore

If I could change one thing I would change melee into having the titan glove and power glove in pre hardmode to increase melee weapon size and speed, allowing another feral claws in the accessory branch. This would fix melee because it would allow more speed with the starfury for wall of flesh, and more size to deal with hungries in expert.

you can already get lots of melee speed PHM and there are other weapons that can deal with the hungry better like sunfury or dark lance

dark lance is even getting buffed in 1.4.4 and it was already kind of underrated
