However, your arena should be long, not tall. Just two platforms is good, but, depending on the difficulty, at least 1000 blocks long (a full stack of platforms).

A great tip is to make your arenas out of planter boxes from the Dryad. If you enable smart cursor, they'll auto place in a perfect line.

Yeah because pre-hm whips have "summon tag damage" meaning you want fast attacking minions

imps have slow but powerful attacks that dont benefit greatly from summon tag

and imps have i-frame issues

Then again each have their use, frogs wont do much against skeletron and queen bee for example
