I have beaten hardcore on expert mode, i did the solar pillar without taking damage once as a ranger which is quite a feat, but the thing is i just cheesed the entire pillar cus it was on a hill. So I just stood on the slope, nothing could attack me before my chloro bullets killed them cus they need direct line of sight

Personally I combined them with power glove to get berserker's glove, combined frozen shell and paladin's shield for frozen shield, and swapped ankh shield for terraspark boots and used my new freed up slot for a pair of wings

with this build I don't have to put too much effort in dodging since moonlord's deathray on expert is reduced to 32-72ish damage depending on how many beetles you have from the set bonus

in terms of damage reduction, which is what the build in the picture focuses on, beetle armor is better than solar flare armor
