Nothing's forcing you to play a single class. By Plantera though you're losing out on a lot of damage by multi-classing.

There's some specific multi sets and hybrids though. Crystal Assassin caters to all.

Frost is a Melee/Range hybrid. Forbidden is a Mage/Summoner hybrid.

Depends on a couple factors. Do you enjoy getting lost in the virtual world? If so then consider a medium or large world.

Are you accustomed to platformer movement and fast-paced combat? Consider Expert Mode if so. The higher drop chances and exclusive loot are worth it.
