Your sort of making stuff up, I have played mage, sure, you can shoot cool fireworks and deal some dope damage numbers, and sure enemies drop souls- But enemies never stop spawning. You could put yourself in a huge box filled wich backwalls and prevent enemies from spawning ever but thats sort of like making a cage for yourself-

If you're having trouble even with that setup, I recommend getting a weapon or bullet type with lots of piercing and going for the destroyer enough for a hallowed upgrade
