Solar objectively is the hardest. Probably goes solar > nebula > stardust > vortex. Stardust you can cheese but vortex is easy without cheese even imo

also fire gauntlet is the best melee accessory so prioritize that, its great with yoyos or terra blade

If you go mage I suggest getting enough cobalt and mythil (palladium or orichalcum) just to make a pickaxe and mine straight for titanium or adamantite
