as long as youre making new worlds on the same difficulty as your current world, i personally dont find it to be cheating at all to make new worlds for one character since you will inevitably be locked out of some content
or some content will just take 100x longer or more to find something because of unlucky world gen

after beating the game on expert with a ranged character and then on expert in a drunk world with a summoner character
i can say that i was surprised how quickly i got through it with the summoner
it felt harder but i think its just because ranged is so incredibly consistent compared to mage/summoner
summoners get weak and then get a new weapon and are suddenly super strong for a while
also im still not sure if drunk world made it harder or easier, i wanna say slightly harder but not significant in either direction tbh
