Heartreach Potion to grab the hearts that the probes can drop will help immensely (they probably don't drop them as much on higher diffs, but it still should be enough to survive on Master)

demon scythe is so cool even if you don't play mage

if you max out your mana to 200 it makes for a good side arm

good damage and clears out enemies quite nicely
