it is just how fast the projectile is going
higher velocity basically makes it easier to aim because you have to lead your shots less

Pumpkin Moon has to be summoned manually, with Pumpkins (grown from Pumpkin Seeds purchased from the Dryad), Ectoplasm dropped from enemies in the post-Plantera Dungeon, and Hallowed Bars.
You can also pick up Ballista Cane for events and bosses, pairing nicely with Squire armor.
A more offensive hybrid build with Chlorophyte armor's Visor variant is also effective.

I'd like to hear your opinions on if Rainbow Boulders didn't activate Biome Mimics. I had a Corrupt mimic somewhere and a Rainbow Boulder hit it and since I was too far away from the mimic, it flew to me and OHKOed me

the moment Hardmode starts, two diagonal stripes are placed on the world forming a V shape, one of them is Corruption/Crimson and the other is the Hallow.
and from there the biomes are also much more effective at spreading, with any infected blocks being able to convert blocks up to 3 blocks away (in a square radius)
