the Guide NPC is your best friend, he can tell you general goals to work towards and what you can craft with different materials
learn how to build housing and more helpful NPCs will join your little village as long as you have suitable free homes and you fulfil any other requirements they might have
always brings some platforms and/or rope with you to make exploration easier, at least until you get really good mobility accessories

that's a pretty good explantation for them actually 🙂
they're kinda like platforms in the way you can walk through them and go up and down, and they're kinda like dirt in the way you can grow herb, but the really neat thing is that you can grow any type of herb seeds in any type of planter box (any difference is just cosmetic)
you can buy them from the dryad npc, and the different types are unlocked based on boss kills

You can remake it, just at the edge of the world. It means you can't make an ocean with tons of sand and water in the middle of the world and such

You're gonna need a very large pool of water. iirc you need like 1000 blocks worth of water, and for enemy spawns the floor has to be at least 1 block thick sand
