this is honestly just bad luck, you can build a lava death pyramid though to make it easier on your self. it's just a hammered staircase blocks leading up to a drop of about 9 blocks with a thin layer of lava. and a room below for you to stay in. It's basically the AFK room from Waffletimes Cavern farm video just moved to the surface for events.

its very helpful for blood moons, goblins, and even pirates i build it every playthrough.

best armor for mage pre hardmode is either Jungle or Meteor armor. you could opt for diamond robe/ magic hat/wizard hat. adventure the world for wand of sparking. and maybe try to use other weapons just until you get your hands on max mana or jungle stuff. pre-boss pure mage is tough. but IF you have done goblin army that means you've broken the crimson heart/shadow orb. so honestly, just wait for a meteor to spawn, and i believe you can use bombs to blow it up for meteor armor + space gun.

diamond staff, thunder zapper is good (forgot about that honestly), and wand of frosting (wand of sparking + 99 ice torches) are good. i don't know of any 1.4.5 mage stuff that might've been added at this point but those are going to be your only weapons until queen bee who drops bee gun or skeletron who unlocks the dungeon.

There's a weird bug involving town pets.

They somehow won't move into houses with town npcs (not town pets) in them. They only move in when there's an empty house.

I somehow got two pets to move into the same house right after building one for them.

I got ya'. Yeah, definitely make sure you have the big ones like hermes boots, regen charm, a hook. I don't remember if the cobalt shield is pre-HM, but might wanna look into that. Get the goblin tinkerer asap if you haven't already, use him to re-roll the stats on your accessories for extra damage or defense. You can also buy the bench from him to put stuff together, as is like.... 90% of the progression

Blade Destroyer? Do you mean the Breaker Blade? It's an alright weapon, but not much more than that. It can deal with melee enemies well enough, but for ranged enemies, bosses and events, you'll want stronger options with greater range and piercing, such as Bananarang and Shadowflame Knife, and Flying Knife and Dao of Pow respectively.

I think you'd need 62 5-second timers for your "on 5 minutes, off 10 seconds" example.
1st timer to turn the farm on, 61st to turn it off, 62nd to loop back to the 1st.
Could also rig up a dart trap + teal pressure pad to turn it off at the end of the loop if you wanted.

kill any enemy in the Corruption/Crimson in the cavern layer for a soul of night, and for a frog leg you just need to fish in any decent sized body of water

The Surface layer is entirely deleted and replaced with the Underground layer so I think its not possible, especially if you arent catching any sky fish

Hey everyone. I have started Terraria a couple times in the past but never made it terribly far, never into hardmode. I would like to give a large world a try with the new 1.4.5 patch. However, I am unsure what world type will give me the most complete Terraria experience. I am looking for advice. Should I have crimson and corruption? Does a normal seed give the best experience? Any other seed options that you suggest turning on? Thanks for any suggestions!
