Usually what I do is I try changing the resolution and then I try to create a new player and world, then see if if the problem persists.

Often it's conflicting mods for me, so I also enable the debug so I can see if it tells me what happened in the log. Enable "Always log exceptions" in tModLoader settings too

each room has 2 valid home tiles for npcs to live in, this way you can have people and pets sharing rooms
having storage chests and crafting stations mixed like that will be great in 1.4.5 when we will be able to craft with materials from nearby chests

step 2: use your molten pickaxe (crafted from hellstone) to mine cobalt/palladium
step 3: use cobalt/palladium to make a new pickaxe
step 4: use cobalt/palladium pickaxe to mine mythril/orichalcum
step 5: use mythril/orichalcum to make a new hardmode anvil and a new pickaxe
step 6: use mythril/orichalcum pickaxe to mine adamantite/titanium
step 7: combine 30 adamantite/titanium ore with a hellforge while standing by your new hardmode anvil to craft your new hardmode forge, and then make yourself some new armour

you will also want to get yourself some wings and new weapons ofc 🙂

In the Documents > my games > terraria folder is a file named "Config.json"
Open it & look for the line "UseRazerRGB" and make sure that value is true.
The line under it is a color profile. Make sure that one is not listed as "Null".

the terraria folders that are simply [player name] only contain .map files, which in the name store your map data for your world, the actual character files are different and if you have file name extensions enabled they will be listed as "[playername].plr" with your world file it would have the .wld extension

for the steam folder check: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\userdata\STEAM ACCOUNT NUMBER\105600\remote (the steam account number is going to be a collection of random numbers and it will be different for each person. Most likely you will only see one folder so click whichever one shows up.)

Hi, I'm new to Terraria. I built a staircase, and the NPC always goes up it and can no longer walk underneath it. Is this intentional, or am I doing something wrong? There's another room next to the staircase, but he can't access it anymore since he always goes up the stairs.

the idea that you have to make farms, really depends on the kind of farm. Like if we're talking enemy farms where you mine out a huge area and then build an elaborate setup, those aren't really "essential" and they take hours to do, esp for a newer player.

But if you're just talking about like, herb farms, or setting up good rotational areas you can grind stuff, that's much more manageable. To me it feels better. I've only tried making a few mob farms and they just never felt great. There's not even that much you need to grind for for the effort, and all the "super rare" items aren't necessary. Money can be collected pretty easily too so...

Is there another way (maybe programmatically?) to tell an item's true rarity when it's rainbow or fire rarity? Like I've figured out that Shield of Cthulhu is blue rarity bc it sorts into other blue weapons (even though it's an accessory). Just having an annoying issue with edge cases, like Starboard is rainbow but it's between Empress Wings (Cyan) and Paladin Shield (Yellow).
