I'm running Terraria on Windows with an RX 6700 XT. In windowed mode, it runs smooth at 75+ FPS. But the moment I switch to fullscreen (or even borderless), the FPS tanks to 40-49 and becomes extremely choppy, like playing on a '90s PC.

if I Alt+Tab out and back, the game runs smoothly for like 1 second, then tanks again. Any solutions?

also consider making friendly projectiles less visible through fargos mutant mod

a lot of content mods have settings for lower graphics, calamnity, fargos, infernum, wotg, thorium

stuff like frame skip on helps a lot too

also consider placing magic storage away from your regular boss arena, it can cause weird lag at times
