I am trying to figure out the best setup for Expert post golem melee. For the celestial events as well as empress/fish. I get demolished by ranged shots so often, especially with the events, I feel like I have to just pop in kill a couple then run out of range.

I am using terra blade most of the time, daybreak when there is just a single target. Beetle armor, frozen shield, terraspark boots, brain, fire gauntlet, spectre wings and celestial stone. Will upgrade the stone to shell once I get moon charm. All of them reforged to warding. I go back and forth with Mail/Plate for chest. I also have a mechanical glove, destroyer emblem, star veil, warrior emblem and ankh shield available. for bosses I tend to run a second glove instead of wings because I use the ufo to fly around.

My personal recommendation is just going for the best full armor of said class and having everything reforged on Warding. Warding ends up helping a lot more than Menacing due to kill times beeing basically the same but beeing able to tank most projectiles. A great example would be WOF. With a full dmg build you will take 50 laser dmg on mastermode, but jsut adding an ironskin potion obsidian shield and using warding you only take 14 (as summoner btw which has the lowest defense)

Also, you can't really have a loadout for everything, on events you're better off killing mobs before they ever get the chance to hit you, that's kinda harder for melee, since weapons with longer reach for that class tend to be weaker

#

On bosses I personally use builds for evasion and survivability, on crowd control stuff like events, I shift that into attack power a bit

It has to be underground for also getting armored cavefish

Fish in surface jungle for a fish used in ammo conservation potion, and at underground jungle you can get one for summoner potions

Also make sure to quickstack near the alchemy chest oftenly, if you know what materials are used for potions, it makes stashing more convenient
